I went to see the Dentist in an emergency situation when half my tooth broke off. When I saw him I asked him if there was anything he could do for the pain until he got authorization he offered me pain pill which I didn't need what I need was a temporary cap or filling so I could eat. He said no, so I asked him what I should do in the mean time and he said just eat on the other side. Well I had been eating on the other side. I didn't understand why I went there to have the tooth pulled and he referred me to an oral surgeon when they said that they specialize in oral surgery. They handed me a treatment plan and I went to talk to the authorizations person and they said they would call me when they got the authorizations. By Friday I was in so much pain I called back and they scheduled another appointment with another dentist to see if there was anything else they could do. On Monday (a week and two days after my tooth broke off) I went back and saw the same dentist (Dr. Hariri) and I asked him again if there was anything he could do like a temporary filling or anything and he said he could put a temporary filling in but it would only be temporary. I said great. The assistant put in a filling compound, he didn't clean it out or anything, and I could eat. I went to see another dentist 60 miles away from my house and he looked at it and he cleaned the root canal out and all of the pain was gone (he cleaned out the infection) then he put a temporary filling on it and it felt better. I didn't get any referral from where I went and Dr. Hariri didn't care if I was in pain or not nor was he concerned at all. I went there on a Monday and asked if he could do anything and he said no I went back a week later and he had the assistant put a temporary filing on it after I had tears in my eyes because it hurt so bad. He did not care if I was in pain or what the effects were, even when I offered to pay cash until they figured out the insurance issue. Just because I am on Denti-Cal doesn't mean that I don't deserve the same care as someone who has insurance especially when I was willing to pay cash
