I was in severe pain and needed a wisdom tooth extraction as soon as possible but my family dentist refused to offer any type of treatment and referred me to an oral surgeon. However, I couldn't wait 2 weeks to see an oral surgeon because the pain was just unbearable. I called the office of Dr. Vela for a second opinion and I was able to make an appointment and be seen within less than 24 hours. Best of all, he was able to work on my tooth within the same appointment and he had all of the equipment needed in his office including a panoramic xray machine. The extraction was pain free without needing to put me to sleep and after I was numbed, it literally took only about a minute or less for him to actually get the tooth out. There were no complications during the extraction and he gave me a prescription for pain killers for more adequate pain relief after the procedure, which have been a big help in recovering from the extraction. If your wisdom teeth need emergency work, I would highly recommend trying to see Dr. Vela because he may be able to help you much more quickly and less expensively than waiting for an Oral Surgeon.
