Dr. Kiavash Kevin Badii, DDS

Dr. Badii is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors I have ever met in my life! I knew he cared from the moment I met him. I decided to have him do my braces, and he originally quoted me an approximate time frame of 24 months. After about 16 months, I've had my braces removed and I absolutely love my smile. He's now treating my husband and adult children, and they're also very happy as well!

During my initial consult, Dr. Badii told me my braces would be on for 12 to 18 months. At about the 2 year mark his office was suddenly called Smile Wide. Then shortly after he briefly introduced me to a new orthodontist and said he would be cutting back and the new orthodontist would be taking over. The new orthodontist, Dr. Kim, is wonderful! I would highly recommend him. But back to Badii. During that 2 years, Dr. Badii would pop in with an insincere greeting (like a used car salesman), and then take a quick look at my teeth and tell his assistants what to do in medical/dental terminology. I'm a retired RN and very much used to medical terminology but not orthodontia. I'm also very aware of the importance of communication and including the patient (who's body or in this case mouth it is) on the progress and plan of care. Dr. Badii was not. I always had to ask and would end up getting a very vague and patronizing answer that really didn't say much of anything. Several times during my visits Dr. Badii would say something that completely contradicted what he'd told me the visit before. I'd have to correct him, then he'd look at my chart, and then correct himself. I felt more like a number (or $$ sign) than a patient. Additionally, his plan of care and projections were inconsistent. Which I believe is why I've had my braces on 3 times longer than projected by Badii. I went online and saw he has a practice in Irvine. My recommendation, if you're looking for an orthodontist, keep looking!
