I believe I have found the best Dentist in the Chattanooga area! I have always been very anxious and dreaded going to the dentist, even just to get my teeth cleaned. I explained this during my first visit with Dr. Shearer, and she listened. She sat there and listened to all of my stories that had lead me to visiting her. I have had several bad experiences, and I thought I would end up in dentures due to not being able to sit for any work. Dr. Shearer went over several options, and we came up with a plan that worked for me and my budget, together! To help with my nerves, I had the laughing gas and noise canceling head phones with music they have. It worked! Thanks to Dr. Shearer, I believe I will be able to hold on to all my teeth.

I had a wonderful experience at the Dentist. I never thought I would say that because I have always been very nervous to have anyone work in my mouth. During my appointments with Dr. Mandy, she took the time to answer all my questions and concerns and made me feel comfortable. The work she did was also very gentle and painless. You can tell she tries to keep her patients at ease by the little touches in her office, like the heated massage chairs. Very nice touch. Her staff is also friendly and helpful. I have finally found a dentist I can trust.

This is the best dentist office that I have found in Chattanooga. Dr. Mandy came highly recommended by a couple of my friends. Her office is very efficient. The Doctor and her staff took the time to answer all my questions regarding my treatment and insurance. I had some bad dental work done a few years ago, and Dr. Mandy did a great job fixing it. I love my smile again!

The billing practices are very poor. While my husband was in for some dental work. During the exam they identify a "cracked" tooth. They wanted to repair it while they were performing the work he was scheduled for. He informed them that it was okay provided the insurance would pay for it (we have double coverage) as he did not want a bill. He also informed them that since the tooth was not giving him any trouble he could wait until the new year when his benefits renewed to max level if needed. He was told the billing person would confirm with the insurance. A few minutes later the person came back and told him she confirmed with the insurance it would be covered so he agreed to the work. However several weeks later he recevied a bill for over $1200 that the insurance did not coverage. After speaking with them apparently the insurance person did not confirm with the insurance as she stated nor did she prepare a pre-estimate. They refused to accept any responsiblity for the false information provided him to get him to agree to the work thus resulting in a large bill that could have been avoided had they been honest with him. Both myself and my husband no longer go this dentist. Being in healthcare myself I know the front office and billing staff can make or break a practice and in this case the billing staff is breaking the practice. We have found a new dentist with honest and knowledgable billing staff. Dr. Shearer is a good dentist but I would not recomment her clinic due poor billing practices. I understand the person who told my husband the work would be covered it no longer there. Wonder why??
