Dr. Steven Anthony Koos

Great surgeon

was recommended by a friend to see this oral surgeon. There is nothing against the oral surgeon, but the office. I was there for a x-ray, and most places would submit the cost to insurance and the rest one pay later as a deductible, instead it is opposite at this office. And, I was informed by my insurance, once I pay that amount there is no refund, nothing against my deductible, but I can wait for the office to submit a claim, but that did not happen. I pay the stated amount up front, not happy of course, because it was more then the stated amount. However, I have a follow up procedure over $4,000. I wanted the office to submit the quote to insurance before I pay, because it is like paying for an overpriced steak. I was promised that they will send the quote to insurance and they will call me. All, I got was a text message that I have yet to set up an appointment for propose treatment, and when I text message back, no reply, silence, not even a mail quote. I am guessing they are not serious about doing business with me. And, I will make sure my friends will not do business with them. Would I recommend this office, no, expect to bring a lot of cash upfront, or a personal check for unexpected amount, or a credit limit way over the expected limit. I am unsure how anyone would rank this office so high, shill rating? I would had rank this office lower then 1-star

I highly recommend Dr. Koos. When I came I was so nervous but after meeting Dr.Koos and his staff I felt so comfortable. Great experience,awesome doctor and friendly staff. And most important thing my recovery was painless. Thank you Dr. Koos and staff!

Wisdom tooth extraction is, obviously, a scary experience for a lot of people. When I visited Ora for the first time for consultation, however, my fears were taken away and I was comforted by the professionalism, friendliness, cleanliness and overall feeling in the office. On top of everything, pricing is affordable, reasonable and well explained. For surgery day, everybody in the office was on top of making sure I felt well taken care of, and was aware of all the important steps to follow. Post-surgery, Dr. Steve Koos also directly reached out in the evening to follow-up with me, clarify any concerns that may have arisen, and give me his contact information so I can follow-up with him directly in case of any emergencies. I had an incredibly positive experience for what I consider a very nerve-wracking process, and I will for sure keep Ora in mind for any other oral surgery or implants need that arise moving forward. Keep up the great job, staff! You somehow managed to walk me through a process that had me all worried and I couldn't be happier with the results and experience so far!

Dr Koos and his staff are very professional and friendly. They explain step by step what is wrong with our teeth and what can be done, as well as related insurance situation. The facilities are superb. And most of all, surgery and follow up go incredibly smoothly.

Although the wait time for a consultation appointment was well over an hour, I do think it was worth the wait. Dr. Koos was great in explaining his diagnosis and the procedure he recommended. I felt very much at ease with the procedure since Dr. Koos was so thorough in his explanation of the wisdom teeth removal, and he took the time to answer any questions I had as well. After the surgery, I received a follow-up call to check up on my healing progress and again, felt very assured. I would highly recommend Dr. Koos as it is now four days after surgery and I had minimal swelling and pain although I removed all four wisdom teeth, with two impacted, including one that was partially bone impacted.

Dr. Koos and his team were just Awesome. Great experience. Wisdom teeth extracted. I was a little nervous going in. The team got me relaxed, Dr Koos was great. Recovery was painless. I'm serious, no pain or swelling! Dr Koos even called me that evening to see how I was doing. The best doctor I have ever had!

I am afraid of Dentists as well as Oral Surgeons, however, Dr. Koos is exceptionally calming and through. This was my first time there and I was overly impressed with the entire staff. Even later that evening Dr. Koos called to check on me. I felt like I was in good hands and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good oral surgeon. Btw, the office feels like a Spa which also helps when you are nervous. Beautiful decor....

THE OFFICE STAFF IS SO UNINFORMED AND DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLES. JUST PAID OVER 33K ON IMPLANTS AND IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN THREE MONTHS AND A TOOTH FELL OUT HAVE CALLED OFFICE THREE TIMES AND HAVE GOTTEN NO APPT OR CALL BACK. THEY ARE RUDE - ONE DR DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE OTHER IS DOING. SO FAR IMPLANTS OK BUT WHEN WAS LIED TO AS TO WHAT WAS TO DONE AND NOW I HAVE A MISSING TOOTH OBVIOUS TO ANYONE - HOW DO I WORK AND WHY DO THEY NOT HAVE COMMON CORTESY TO GET ME IN RIGHT AWAY. DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF THERE OFFICES.

i had been in pain for a few months due to impacted wisdom teeth, and now i am pain free thanks to dr. koos. when entering the office i was releived to find a great staff and a freindly oral surgeon with a great backgound. i was made comfortable in every way possible and i am definatly afraid of a regular dentist. tvs in the rooms, music through out the office, freindly people every where, plants, and calming smells through out the halls, where else are you going to find a place like this for every dental need? not to mention a personal phone call for a follow up the same night to make sure i was ok. all i can say is thanks to dr. koos for releiving me of my pain 10 out 10!

My general dentist recommended that I have my wisdom teeth taken out and I have been delaying until one week the pain became unbearable. I went to see Dr. Koos and received an exceptional service. He took out two of my wisdom teeth on the left side. It was the quickest and least painful experience at a doctorâ??s office. Thank you!!!

My son had four wisdom teeth removed. During the procedure he underwent a anxiety attack - this of course caused panic for my son. Dr. Koos knew exactly what to do to resolve this matter - soothing music of my son's liking and he was able to calm down. Thanks for being such a great specialist choosing you was our reward. As being Dr. Koos Oral Surgery Patient care Coordinator as well as his patient. My review for him is as a patient. He was the most gental and detailed as could be. He took his time explaning my panoramic xray, and what needed to be done. As being part of the Ora Studios team, I have walked to surgery room many times before but, When it came down to walk to surgery room for my procedure I was terrified. The surgical assistants were amazing and make sure I was calm the enitre time. Dr. Koos and the assistants made me feel like a patient the entire time. Dr. Koos even called a couple of times to make sure I was doing ok after going home and that I was following all instructions. I used to tell all the patient that Dr. Koos was great and that they were in good hands but after my patient experience, Now I know I wasnt lying and he is the best Oral surgeon in Chicago.

I have been a patient of Dr. Koos's for a couple of years now. I was first referred to him by my general dentist in downtown Chicago to have my impacted wisdom teeth removed. I was terrified about the concept and had been putting off the procedure for a few years despite the persistent urging from my dentist to see him and get it done. After the consultation, I have to say, I suddenly wasn't so worried anymore. He has a very calming demeanor and explained everything in detail and seemed very confident. The procedure was a breeze (other than a few days of typical soreness) from beginning to end and was thoroughly impressed by the care that I received.I also had a baby tooth that never fell out because I was missing its adult replacement. Well about six months later that baby tooth cracked and was pretty painful. I immediately called ORA to get in to see Dr. Koos and they worked me into the schedule. A few days later I had the baby tooth pulled and a dental implant placed immediately with a small bone graft. That procedure was also a breeze. I was sedated for this procedure as well and this is the only way to go folks! I wake up and everything is done. Through having oral surgery a few times at ORA, I listed in my health history that I have sleep apnea and need to use a CPAP machine. Dr. Koos had me come in on another occasion to review my sleep study and diagnosis. After talking to me he knew that I hated my CPAP machine and wasn't great about using it regularly. He made an awesome oral appliance for me to use, which has helped me out so much. My daytime sleepiness is all but gone, I have better focus, and a repeat sleep study showed a huge improvement with my splint.I can't say enough about ORA Oral Surgery & Implant Studio, their staff and Dr. Koos for helping me face my unfound anxiety with surgery as well as for helping me get much better sleep too!

Couldn't have better things to say about this doctor. His bedside manner is like you are relating to a close friend, he is very knowledgable but not cocky, and he takes the time to explain and show everything so that I completely understood the how and why. He also took time out of his personal time while at home to call me after the several bone grafting and dental implant surgeries that I had, something that no other doctor has ever done for me, which I found to be exceptional. Great work, spa-like office, and very fair pricing as an insurance provider (compared to several other oral surgeons that I initially had consults with) I wouls highly recommend him to everyone I know.

Being a dental phobic, I knew I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled but was anxious of having it done. Dr. Koos was so professional and reassured me everything would be fine....and painless. His office staff is top notch and the proceedure went smoothly just as Dr. Koos predicted. No pain, no swelling and except for a few days of not eating alot, I was good to go. He also called to check up on me, how great was that. I would recommend to anyone needing Oral Surgery go to Ora Studio on the south side of Chicago. They treat you like family and not just a paying customer.

Professional and smart, but yet not arrogant and stuffy. Really listened to my problems and caught a missed diagnosis that 2 other oral surgeons overlooked. After a major respective surgery and reconstruction by Dr. Koos i can honestly say that he not only was it the best surgical experience that I have ever had (10 and counting), but he literally saved my life. He checked up on me at home several times, his staff is super friendly and helpful too. His office space is like the W hotel or something! THE place to be for any oral care in Chicago.

After reading all the good reviews of Dr. Koos online and ORA Oral Surgery & Implant Studio I decided to come here for my wisdom teeth surgery and also to get 2 dental implants for teeth that have been missing due to an accident. The office is ultramodern and he has absolutely the best bedside manner of any doctor that I have ever been to see.
