Dr. William A Vitalie

I was one of Dr. Vitalies first patients and I must say I was afraid of needles and anything to with dentistry from past experience with a lot of dentists. He made me feel very comfortable and the needles I didn’t mind because he knew what he was doing. He completely crowned my top of my mouth and some of the bottom. Here we are 36 years later that’s how long they lasted and that what they called years age ago London Bridge came lose. Where I live now the dentists could not believe the remarkable job that was done on my mouth 36 years age. If I get to Indiana again I will be in touch with him for a checkup. My daughter stills says he was the best dentist ever. Judy

Was a patient of this so called dentist 10 yrs ago, from the beginning when he did three veneers (two front and one eye tooth) I’ve had pain and burning in the gum area. I’ve done everything in the pass ten years to solve this problem and no periodontist or orthodontist knows what the problem is or how to make me pain free. Stay away from this guy, I could buy a house with all the money I spent trying to find help with something he caused.

Dr. Vitalie and his staff are very kind and professional. The office environment is very clean professional by all standards. I go for regular appointments and had Invisalign done and I am very happy with the results!

My experience with Dr. Vitalie was a good one. The staff are all great and very personable. As for Dr. Vitalie, he is very knowledgeable in various areas of dentistry. I have never had such a thorough exam performed than at this office. They check everything! I had an oral cancer screening, a gum exam which I've never had before this office, and comfortable x-rays (bye-bye awful bite wing film!) and found out the cause of my headaches were a result of my bite. He explains your problems to you in a very professional manner, and has helped me greatly with my TMJ problems, and other dental issues, as well as many of my family members. I no longer suffer from severe headaches or migraines like I used to, and I am extremely thankful for this. He is a wonderful dentist, and the dental hygienists are gems as well. I have no need to search for another dentist. I will be sticking with this one. :)

Seems like all patients had the same experience as I did. Dr. Vitalie WAS giving me a sales pitch! it seemed like it was one, but then I started questioning that mabye it wasn't. He touched my head, neck, and jaw and pressed really hard asking me if it hurt..i said yes because of how hard he was pressing and he claimed he was barely pressing hard at all. He then "diagnosed" me with TMJ/TMD and gave me a panflit on neuromuscular dentistry.. A $2000 procedure.

My experience with Dr. "Bill" Vitalie was positive and successful. Dr. Bill was professional in all respects. I went in needing new upper dentures. Having TMJ I was concerned but the Dr. worked with me to make something other dentists in Greensburg and Pittsburgh were unable to do. Buy local! I do not understand the negative reviews. The doctor and his staff was nothing but professional and friendly with me. I don't care what magazines are in the waiting room, I bring my own. I never waited any longer then I have many times at other doctors. All doctors have staff who do the preliminary work, Dr. Vitalie was with me every time I needed him. Not having insurance I was given the cost on first visit and money was never mentioned again. I just had my final adjustment and would not hesitate to return or recommend. I was asked about having my teeth cleaned, I said I would call later and left with a smile. Thank you Dr. Bill

Dr. Vitalie is a dentist-salesman.  He is a much better salesman than dentist.  As a dentist, he is rough as he works around your mouth, and no amount of protest will garner you any sympathy.  He is merely a technician, wanting to get through the procedure as quickly as possible.  As a salesman, he can't be beat.  I made a new patient appointment for your standard check-up and cleaning.  During my check-up, Vitalie looked in my mouth, and then with his hands touched the base of my head and neck and shoulders.  He smushed around there for a second.  He asked me if I ever got headaches.  Well, yes, sometimes, I said.  He said he had received advanced dental training from some place in Las Vegas, and that my cross bite was the reason I was having headaches.  Headaches and a cross bite were nowhere on my list of concerns when I made this new patient appointment.  Later, after doing research on the place Dr. Vitalie said he had done his special training (The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies), I learned that it's a for-profit business where dentists pay to take continuing education classes there and then pay to market themselves on their website as neuromuscular-trained dentists who can help resolve your TMJ / TMD symptoms.  No wonder he was so keen on selling me this bogus crap.  His sales tactics all made sense now.  I mean, he markets TMJ/TMD problems to as many poor, unsuspecting souls as he can, to people like me who don't have TMJ/TMD problems in the first place.  I need to address my cross bite to fix my headaches?  If I went in specifically inquiring about these things or specifically stated I was unhappy with my cross bite or was trying to find a solution for my headaches, it would be one thing.  But for me to be an unsuspecting patient, where there already is an imbalance of power due to the fact that he is a "medical doctor" of sorts and I have no training in his field, it was highly unethical of him to create "problems" that I did not need to address.  After asking if I ever got headaches, Vitalie asked if I had had much success in treating those headaches.  since I still had headaches, he suggested I hadn't had any success in treating them at all.  He said the problem was in my cross bite, and he could help me fix my headaches.  He said this could be achieved by running little electrical pulses through my face to relax my jaw into its natural position. How much for this procedure, I asked.  Vitalie said $130.  If it's $130, then we can try it, I said.  He glued electrodes to my face and said the stimulating pulse would relax my jaw into its natural position.  I sat in a chair for an hour with electrodes stuck to my face as if I were right out of a bad science fiction movie.  Well, when it came time to pay, Vitalie was nowhere to be found, as he had left for the day.  I soon come to learn from his friendly-as-a-shark receptionist that Vitalie was charging me $500.  I told the girl that was NOT what Vitalie said the cost was. I know what $130 sounds like - it doesn't sound like $500.  Say the two numbers out loud for yourself - they sound nothing alike, you wouldn't confuse the two. The girl said I could not leave without paying the $500 because I signed their paperwork saying I was legally responsible for payment at time of service.  Bewildered, I paid $500 that day.  The weeks that ensued trying to take care of this load of crap involved me having to call and call and call and tell them that I was of course happy to pay the $130 quoted to me since that was what I agreed to (despite the fact that the procedure, unsurprisingly, resulted in nothing) but to take an extra $370 from me for accomplishing absolutely nothing was unjust and unethical.  The fact that I walked in there for a check-up/cleaning and ended up being sold Vitalie's TMJ/TMD marketing ploy shows you what a snake oil salesman Vitalie is.  on top of that, he blatantly charged me a price nearly $400 above what he quoted me, and did so without blinking.  You can imagine having to talk to his guard dog staff and arrogant Vitalie over the phone - talk about extremely uncomfortable.  I eventually got a check in the mail, but between the watchdog staff, snake oil salesman who passes himself off as a dentist, dishonest business practices, and my time and money wasted, I can say this: Vitalie is not a kind dentist, nor an honorable one. If you enjoy being treated badly, go to this guy. Otherwise, go to a dentist who will treat you with dignity.

I had a great experience, at Dr. Vitalies office. The staff was great very helpful. Everyone listened to my dental concerns (they were numerous). I experience dental anxiety, and had put off visiting the dentist for quite some time. After the first visit I was at ease and confident I was in the right place. They took time to look at my entire mouth, review my problems, and discuss money and my insurance. Very happy:)
