Dr. Jungwirth was born in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine and emigrated to the United States as a child. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School as the valedictorian. The New York Times highlighted Dr. Jungwirth’s success in an article titled “Six of the Best and Brightest, Poised to Take the Next Step on the Long Road.” She then attended Princeton University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she was also inducted into the Sigma Xi Honor Society. Subsequently, Dr. Jungwirth attended Harvard Medical School on scholarship, where she discovered her passion for dermatology. Dr. Jungwirth completed her internship in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and her dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Dr. Jungwirth is passionate about giving back to the community. She mentored underprivileged children while at Princeton University via Kids on
Campus and GetSet. Throughout her time at Harvard Medical School she volunteered as a mentor with the First-year Urban Neighborhood Campaign and at the Manville School, a special needs day school. Dr. Jungwirth has also worked towards the advancement of medical science. As an undergraduate, she performed research at the National Institutes of Health. While at Harvard Medical School and at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Dr. Jungwirth’s research was published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and she presented her research at local and national conferences. She loves treating patients of all ages and ethnic backgrounds and is proficient in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is a fellow of the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. In her spare time, Dr. Jungwirth enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and traveling. She is fluent in Russian and speaks basic Spanish.
