Dr. Adam Salem Sergiwa, MD

Dr. Sergiwa has cared for all of our children at one time or another. He is very good with the children. He takes time to listen to us to make sure that he gives a correct diagnosis.

Dr. Sergiwa is a caring and compassionate Doctor. He has gone above and beyond for my daughter to ensure she got the best care. Exellent Doctor.

I absolutely love Dr Sergiwa. I work at the hospital and all the staff love how easy he is to work with and how knowledgeable he is about EVERYTHING with kids. As a patient he is great with my son. He explains everything to me and answer's all my questions even if i am asking 50 of them. however the staff isn't top of the line and the wait time can be excessive. but i personally will put up with a bland staff member and a long wait time if i know my dr is going to be exceptional. he even answered my phone call in the middle of the night when i needed to send my son to the ER. it feels good to know i can talk directly to my sons dr in an emergency and not get some hotline.

I wonder men. He love his patients. Great with the kids.

I have a common problem of looking up things and panicking over the results. Dr. Sergiwa always puts me at ease and helps me through the issues. When I felt something was off with my son at a very early age, he monitored closely and ultimately granted my requests of seeing an OT for further diagnosis. After concluding he had sensory issues, we were able to involve early intervention to help his progress on milestones. I will forever be grateful that I was taken seriously and not brushed off when my instincts kicked in. My son looks forward to well checks, now and Sergiwa always remembers him and details about us, even though he has tons of patients! I can’t say enough good things about this doctor.

They are lucky I don't file a civil suit. Stay away!

Our daughter got sick about 24 hours after she was born. Dr. Sergiwa took such good care of her and us. We absolutely love him!

Dr. Sergiwa is great. He listens to my concerns and does not question my choices. He gives his opinion about medical care and let's the parents make their choices freely. We are concerned about vaccines and he is great about it. On the other hand, we don't always get him. Sometimes we are forced to see his associate, or I believe his nurse practitioner. She does not like our choices and questions me about everything. When my son was 9 months old and I told her we had introduced whole milk and he was doing well with it, she told me I have to stop giving it to him until he was 1. That it was bad for him and babies aren't allowed toga e whole milk. She also diagnosed him with torticollis during a well check.. and referred us to a therapist. As a concerned parent I did not want to dismiss it completely incase I was wrong but I knew he was fine and didn't really need therapy. We went through all the rigamorole anyhow to be on the safe side and in the end I was correct it was a misdiagnosis.. There was nothing wrong with him

Being extremely picky about the medical care of my children, I am thrilled to have found Dr. Sergiwa. My two-year-old actually enjoys going for her check-ups. His wife is extremely friendly and willing to help (even when I called in the middle of the night)...his wife was great! Dr. Sergiwa has an excellent bed-side manner and will definitely put your children at ease. Highly recommended!

My children have been patients for a about 15 ish years with the exception of a few years when Dr. Sergiwa was away. So thankful he came back. We have always been very pleased with him as our pediatrician. His office staff have always been very helpful and gotten us in as soon as possible when we have had ill children. Recently my daughter was sick. We were seen quickly in the office but the next day she got worse. Dr. Sergiwa returned my calls quickly and sent her to the ER. She was admitted for 4 days. Dr. Sergiwa has a great bedside manner, he answered all of our questions and concerns. As for the person who complained about being prescribed Lexapro for his childs anxiety, you should do your research (I have done mine). I have a child who has anxiety and Tourette Syndrome. Dr. Sergiwa prescribed Lexapro for him. We see a neurologist in Chicago who completely agrees with using Lexapro for my childs anxiety. This has been a great med for him with no ill side effects. Thank you Dr. Sergiwa for coming back to Laporte. We really appreciate you!

I always feel rushed as though we are on an assembly line, and passed along. Although sometimes the Dr. may be right on some diagnosis, other times, he pre-scribes amoxicilan as if this will cure all. Have been to the emergency room and felt better about a diagnosis as opposed to the office visit. Always leave feeling slighted.

I like that Dr. Sergiwa seems to deeply care about not only the patients, but the parents as well.

Great Doctor but poor staff and HATE when his wife is in the office shes very unpleseant and hate the PA always messes up my dosages and medications or never gives me things that help fallowing her visits I have to go back to see doctor sergiwa and then things get better. I will only schedula with him because his a awsome doctor just the staff I cant say the same about!

My kids have been a patient of Dr. Sergiwa's for almost 10 years, but after today I am sad to say I'm getting a new pediatrician. Dr. Sergiwa is excellent; however his staff is rude and ridiculous. His secretary just hung up on me! I was trying to make an appointment to see Dr. Sergiwa and not a Nurse Practitioner, or "his associate" as she called herself. My son came in for an appointment I made this morning and I was told Dr. Sergiwa would be in today. She knew nothing about prescribing medication or my son's condition, ahe just kept saying she would have to call Dr. Sergiwa because she didn't know. I asked where he was and was told he was in Pennsylvania. I am very sad to find a new doctor for my children, but this is insane. My son could have a seizure from abruptly stopping his medication yet she refused to help.

Dr. Sergiwa is an awesome doctor. I cannot say eno9ugh to praise him. He goes above and beyond to take care of his patients. A doctor's office can be a scary place for a sick child. He takes the time to make sure the children in his care are comfortable when he looks them over. I don't know how many times he's let my kids listen thru the stethescope just to make sure they're comfortable with him using it to listen to their heart/lungs. He's efficient and doesn't prescribe medications that aren't necessary. He has always taken the time necessary to make sure that we completely understand the diagnosis and what to expect from treatment. He makes himself available to answer questions over the phone if it's more than the nurses are qualified for. I highly suggest and praise Dr. Sergiwa and would be willing to drive a much farther distance to ensure his continued care of my 3 children. My kids have been his patients since 2001.

i love dr sergiwa. he has a compassion for what he does, and is always there when you need him. if you have to get an appt after work or school, however, be prepared to wait. i have waited over an hour and a half for the past three or four visits.

I am certain that all of the good reviews here are fake and written by Dr. Sergiwa as I see he responded to some of the reviews and not only responding but threatening. I used to take my children to Sergiwa because my sister used to take her children to him before he left and she was happy with him but now she goes to another pediatrician, Sergiwa gave my 9 years old daughter laxapro because he diagnosed her with anxiety, she was getting worse and started to say that she wanted to die, I took her to a psychiatrist who told me that lexapro is not approved for children under the age of 12 and even for children older than 12 years old it is only approved for depression not anxiety, lexapro has the highest suicidal rate among other antidepressants, thanks god my daughter did not commit suicide because I took her to the psychiatrist who stopped the lexapro and sent her for therapy, she is doing much better now, Sergiwa kept ignoring my concerns about the medication and even increased the dosage when I told him she was not improving. I am waiting for Sergiwa's response to this review and I would like to tell him that freedom of expression is not actionable but malpractice is. I have copies of all the prescriptions you gave my daughter so you can not deny that you give this medication as you have denied everything with the previous reviewers
