Dr. Alan Lawrence Rubin, MD

Feel like I was dealing with 2 different people. When something upsetting happened to me medically and my anxiety and depression returned, he dropped me like a hot potato. Doctors have a right to say feel your issue is out of their range. But best practice is to refer to someone else. He told me this in the middle of a session. I had been in treatment for 3 years.the way he spoke to me about it was actually cruel. I won’t write what he said but it was rotten. I could really reported him to the state.

Dr. Rubin is fantastic! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Also takes time to explain complex topics and answers any questions. The office is also easily accessible and quick to respond.

Dr. Rubin is a wonderful man. I have found him to be kind, compassionate and attentive. To me these are the qualities that make a great doctor.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR OR YOUR LIFE WILL BE IN DANGER!

There are no words, Dr Rubin has helped me in a very short time to cope with life that I was struggling with for quite some time. He spent time getting to know me and how I live my life and feel in all kinds of situations. Dr. Rubin made suggestions and discussed options that may work with me. If my first options did not work he gave me hope that we would find one and we did and since he listened to me so well it worked with the very first option. He genuinely cares. Every visit is just not to renew medications its to discuss how life is going and how I am handling my life and lifes situation. I am truly GRATEFUL to Dr. Rubin. He is my hero.

I have been seeing Dr. Rubin since Jan. 2019 and I have been very comfortable with him since I started. There is never a long wait and I have never felt rushed during my sessions. Dr. Rubin is calming, caring and attentive. He is extremely knowledgeable about medications and I have already learned a great deal about myself from my time with him. He is insightful and informative. I am very fortunate to have him as my doctor.

Hi. I saw this man when I was 15 years old. I'm now in my 30s. I was a bullied kid and had a rough childhood. I remember sitting with him in his office with both of my parents. I asked him multiple times, "how does medication fix my problem at school?" He never answered me. He just proceeded to write up prescriptions. Everyone has problems in this world. Life is not easy. Whoever reads this listen to me. Put God first and ask God to help you. Medication is a joke. All it did was make me worse in my teens. God is the ultimate healer. Honestly, shame on this guy. I was a 15 year old kid and all he cared about was getting paid. I'm writing this to wake people up. You dont need him. Seek out christian counseling if needed. - Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will ge given to you, seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.

Dr Rubin is one of the best Psychiatrist who genuinely looks for the best interest of his clients. He provides options to chose from, subsequently providing his advice on what we ought to do giving our circumstances. friendly, caring, is genuinely interested in his client's lives, he doesn't prescribe, and charge. He is a good doctor and will try to resolve your issues with medication

I was told less than 24 hours before my appointment that the doctor needed cash or check the day of the appointment. I have an HRA credit card which he does not accept. So I wrote a check and hoped to get reimbursed for my visit. He filled out a form that the HRA provider did not accept. I contacted the office multiple times and they kept sending the same form. They also did not submit a claim to my insurance provider (to be counted towards my deductible). I have asked repeatedly and, more than two months later, I still do not have a claim filed with my insurance company or the proper documentation to be reimbursed by the HRA. If you see Dr. Rubin, I suggest making sure you can pay out of pocket for your visit.

Dr. Rubin is highly professional. He explains everything in a concise and simple manner to describe medical conditions and treatment options. As compared to other psychiatrists in the local area, Dr. Rubin puts me at ease and his office environment is quite comfortable. Wait times are short, and he doesn't spend too much or too little of my time. I would easily recommend Dr. Rubin to anyone.

He truly takes my concerns seriously and makes a real effort to get to know me as a person. I always feel empowered and cared for.

I have been in and out of therapy and have seen multiple psychiatrists etc. over the years. I was consistently misdiagnosed and would suffer from severe bouts of depression and eventually became suicidal. I'm 34 and for the first time in my life I feel pretty great. Dr. Rubin is incredibly smart and compassionate. He genuinely wants to help and isn't satisfied until there is a significant improvement. Go see him.

We tried to get in touch with Dr rubin to make payment arrangements as my daughter needed to see someone as he came very highly recommended Noone got back to us so not thinking there would be a issue she went to see him and because she could ny pay him on the spot he kicked her out of his office beware if you can't pay him on the spot he will not see you I have never been to dr who refuses to see you if you can't pay right away can you imagine going to a doctor for help and refuses to help you because he can't wait a week for his money horrible a phyc dr who sees someone in distraught and refuses to help her all you people who have given him good reviews be careful if you can't pay he won't help you

Through my personal experience dealing with Dr. Rubin, I can easily that he is one of the greatest psychiatrists currently in practice in NYC. He is knowledgable, caring, skilled, and compassionate. Scheduling appointments is very easy. The penthouse for his nyc office is always clean and neat. I trust every decision Dr. Rubin makes when it comes to medications being prescribed. If you are looking for a psychiatrist, GO TO DR. RUBIN! HE'S THE BEST OF THE BEST!!

All he did was ask questions that required a yes or no answer. On my second visit, I asked questions, and he advised me not to return. Also, he was very late both times. I never saw anyone in his office, I had to wait out in the hall for him to show up. Never got a live person when I called, only a machine. He is far the worst ever. Dont be fooled be these experience ratings that are obviously bogus. He should be ashamed of the way he treated me. I am a mature professional and treated him with the utmost curtisy. Unfortunately he did not.

I have been to so many psychiatrists and been on 17 different meds, and nothing was ever working. My father recommended that I go to Dr. Rubin, and I can honestly say that he helped me to find the right medication on the first try. He gave me the ADHD diagnosis which I had never heard before, and the new meds have been helping a lot. He is an awesome guy, and I would recommend him to anyone who is having a rough time.
