Dr. Alan Schreiber, MD

Dr. Alan Schreiber is amazing. My mother suffers from severe lower back pain. She was being seen elsewhere who only prescribed her strong medications and sent her to therapy, did this for three months and did not see an improvement. Two days after being seen by Dr. Schreiber we saw a change. She is progressively getting much better. Dr. Schreiber is AMAZING and so are the staff. Thank you for the great care you provide.

• Extremely rude and uncaring office and treatment staff. • Incompetent office staff, ill-trained in handling military insurance, but very quick at taking your Co-pay. • Extremely long wait in waiting room and treatment room. • Dirty rooms. • Dim, poorly lit treatment room. Being in constant chronic pain, I tufted it out with incompetent, rude office workers, hoping to get better in treatment room....but my hopes were diminished. I was so upset and in pain reporting what had just happened to me to Dr. Schreiber that I began to cry. Instead of talking to me, taking the facts, he jumped up, ran out of the room, and sent in his rude young female manager. She barely listened to me, then blamed me for the event. The problem was that they failed to process my military insurance before I got there. I was rudely told that she canceled my appointment which I had been waiting a month for, then told me that I need to leave and do it myself, however, the insurance company requires the medical office to process and request patient treatments. The patient cannot do it. During this interaction, the receptionist treated me like a second class citizen. The waiting room, restroom and treatment rooms are dirty. Treatment room is poorly lit as well. This doctor was on the military insurance recommendation list based on their application and approval of military and their dependents. I do not recommend this group, especially for military and their dependents. I reported them to my insurance company.

It's true that Dr. Schreiber talks fast and seems in a hurry, but I found him perfectly friendly and more than willing to repeat himself when I asked. His explanation of my injury was clear and detailed and his treatment plan was very helpful. Overall, I have no hesitation about recommending him. Only two negatives to report: some of his staff were less than professional, and the exam rooms in his Clinton office frankly looked as if they hadn't been visited by a vacuum cleaner in years.

Probably the most uncaring, rushed, fast talking, Dr. I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I waited over an hour (they told me he was running late). It was obvious that his only concern was getting to the next patient. He rushed in the room talking 100 miles an hour, didn't even read my MRI, uttered something about arthritis, and walked out. A few minutes later he came back in and I asked him to please explain my MRI. He proceeded to act as though he was reading to himself, again, at 100 miles an hour. I asked him to please slow down...he would not. He put the disc of my MRI on the screen and, again, starting talking (as though to himself), 100 miles an hour. He never even made eye contact with me. I never received an explanation of my MRI, only 2 prescriptions for pain and muscle relaxer, which I never filled. Upon telling the staff at checkout about my experience, they informed me that they have "heard this about him before many times". Gee, thanks. BTW: I have 3 severely bulged discs, a herniated nucleus pulposus, and severe bilateral foraminal stenosis in my neck. DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY IF YOU WANT AN EXPLANATION AND/OR SOMEONE THAT CARES 2 CENTS ABOUT YOU.

I have not been happy with Dr. Schreiber mannerism, but have tolerated him. I have seen Dr. S. very often for three years and he acts as if I am a NEW patient. I don't think he looks at the chart until he is in front of me. On several visits I have had to remind him of the various treatments and what problems I am experiencing. I never feel that I am receiving quality time, the doctor is always in a RUSH and seems absent-minded. I have stayed hoping things will get better, but just recently again, he seems to not know why I was in his office. I have to move on!!!!

I was completely disappointed with my visit with this Dr. He wouldn't look me in the eye when he talked. He was getting upset with the computer and was getting rough with it. When I mentioned how his suggestion was completely different than another Dr.'s he got mad and dropped his clipboard. He was very rude.

Dr. Schreiber is mild mannered, but his diagnosis was correct and he really listens to what I am sayaing and my concerns.

Dr. s, fused my spine back in 2006 and that was the greatest thing that could have happen. I had been being treated for years with someone else and was getting no where. He was so helpful and so professional, not only would I go back, I am. I now live out of state but I am making a trip back to VA so that I can get the help I need for my leg. If he is late there is usually a good reason, the problem is, his staff never communicates with the waiting room. He has called from the emergency room to let his staff know he is in emergeny surgery, but they just sit on the information. He's is one of the best in his field. The surgery on my back could have left me unable to walk, but once I started seeing him I knew the surgery was a must have. I am so much better. Great Doctor, great professional, and a really nice man.

A friend recommended this Dr and now I'm baffled as to how they could have recommended him. What a horrible experience. Please don't make my mistake.. you will regret it.

I have never had a worse experience with a doctor. I the office staff and nurses were nice enough, however Dr. Scheiber himself was awful. He talked about a mile a minute and I could barely get a word in. When I would ask questions or ask him to repeat himself he seemed very annoyed by it. I have never felt more rushed out the door before in my life. He seemed to have very little interest in actually finding out what was wrong with me, he just wanted to get on to the next patient.

Doctor has been very quick to suggest surgery from the first visit. Having a scheduled appointment doesn't mean a thing as my time in the waiting room has been at least 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs; then there has been a minimum of 1 hr in the exam room. The total time in his office has been as much as 3 1/2 hrs. With all that time only 10-15 minutes has been with Dr Schreiber. But the most bothersome is how Dr Schreiber repeats almost everything he says as though he is having problems with his memory. Then I have to ask him if the prescription he wrote is meant to be a 30 day supply as what he wrote is only for a 10-15 day. Over 3 months he hasn't written one prescription correctly. So, if he continually repeats everything he says and can't write a prescription without the patient telling him the quantity won't last 30 days...how in the world does he perform in the operating room. I'm going to get at least a 2nd....possibly a 3rd opinion and then decide who will do my surgery if it's deemed necessary.
