Dr. Amir Alaei Mehbod, MD

Dr. Mehbod has continued to impress me and instill a sense of confidence in my recovery. He understands that my recovery will not be the same as the average patients due to the fact I also have MS. In my opinion he is not only an excellent surgeon,he is also a special human being. I'm so glad that I was lucky enough to be referred to him personally. After our first meeting I realized he was the person I wanted to repair the damage to my lower spine.

This place is wonderful. The staff was friendly and courteous. The doctor was on time, he was thoughtful, thorough, made sure I understood everything, confident, friendly, and took all the time I needed. I feel completely comfortable in his care. I will return and I will recommend People.

Dr. Mehbod was very professional, personable, optimistic, and knowledgeable. He gave clear directions for me to follow. He went over my x-rays with me at the beginning of my appointment and again after new x-rays were taken, so I would understand my progress. I was very pleased with my appointment with the doctor.

Dr. Mehbod was exceptionally polite and caring. He seemed very skilled at what he does. I was about 25 mins late due to getting lost. He still kept the appointment and when I tried to apologize, he cut me off and said it was completely fine.

Dr. Mehbod is as good as it gets! He’s personable, professional, comforting, and explains everything in language you can understand. If you are considering a surgeon he comes with my highest recommendation!!!!!!!

I very much appreciated the expertise and confidence of Dr. Mehbod and his fellow, Dr. Schultz. Both were very reassuring and focused on me as a person, rather than jumping to my MRI scan. Dr. Mehbod is clearly an experienced, thoughtful and skilled physician/surgeon. After visiting him, I understand why he comes highly recommended.

From beginning (visited Spine Center after bulging disk symptoms in cervical area) throughout (PA helped with pain management) until I needed and received surgery (ACDF c5-7) Dr. Mehbod and his team were professional, thorough, and my surgery and recovery were a success. Did not ever experience long wait times to be seen. The doctor is very busy but always took the time to explain everything related to my issues.

He left screws sticking in my muscles and nerves !!!! He promised to take my hardware out and never did. They washed there hands of me !! He is a butcher. He took my life away from me.

Dr Mehbod was my Dr since 2011. I was pleased with my neck surgery. I visited him a few times about my back condition. I already had 2 previous back fusion by another physician but I thought I would see him about my back until I had a horrible pain in my back. I went to see my chiropractor about it, he ordered an MRI since he knew that this wasn't an adjustment situation. Right after I saw my chiropractor I had an appointment with Dr Mehbod. My appointment was for 1:45, I wasn't called into the exam room until 4:45. Dr Mehbod looked at my MRI and said that I had a tear in some tissue and that was that. A few days later my chiropractor called me and asked if I had seen Dr Mehbod and I told him that I had and told him what Dr Mehbod had said. His exact words were "my dear, you have a compound fracture in your L4". That's part of my fusions. I called Dr Mehbod's nurse and told her what I was told and said that Dr Mehbod should look at my MRI a little closer and to read the radiologists report (apparently he didn't do that when I was in his office). Dr Mehbod called me that next day, he didn't apologize for mis-reading the report. When I told him that my chiropractor found it he said well don't have any adjustments for 6 weeks and don't lift over 20 pounds. I was not happy with Dr Mehbod and stopped using him as my spine Dr. One more thing, staffing jams patients into the scheduling where we have to wait far past our appointment times. I loved Dr. Mehbod when I saw him before surgery. After surgery was a different story...I saw him for one follow up and then was passed off to someone else in the office. He didn't catch my pseudoarthrosis even with classic symptoms and worst of all, I heard him complaining about me being "inconsistent" to another dr in the hall of the hospital on day 2 after multilevel ACDF when I complained about pain. Would NEVER see him again. Would NEVER refer him to anyone.

Dr. Mehbod is the most caring surgeon we have ever met. When my husbands other surgeon got sick & could not see him Dr. Mehbod took the time to see us instead of us coming back another day. I am so glad he did as I think he is the best. The only surgeon I have met with such a great bedside manner. My husband just had the surgery a few days ago & he is feeling great. Last year when my husband has a serious infection & was in ICU Dr. Mehbod came by every day. We really don't think you can find a better spine Dr.
