Dr. Andreas David Runheim, MD

I was sick & going 2 many drs & going thru many tests when I found Dr Runheim. Of course he had to run lots of tests also but when it was confirmed he told me he could of told me the first day I walked in but he had to confirm. And right away he was putting me on the toughest treatment. He was so caring and compassionate. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and kept running into problems w/treatments either side effects or I was just getting worse. He has wonderful PA’s in the office that r awesome so I don’t see him every time but if I see him there he will stop to see how I am doing and if I ever want to see him I have no problem getting a appointment with him. I have moved further away since I started seeing him but I will continue to go to him. And since I had to stop driving so it makes it harder but when u find a dr like him and everyone in his office has been great I would be lost if I had to find a new dr.

Been to see dr runheim. Very inattentive while conducting nerve study test. Did not seem to attend to my needs. He was texting on facebook and on smart watch while doing the test. Was not paying attention. Did not seem to be focused when asking questions. Time to find somebody else

I had seen Dr. Runheim for approximately 9 years. In the beginning, he was very attentive and sympathetic to my needs. Over the years, that’s changed tremendously. He spends no longer than 5 minutes with me, and he has even sit and texted during our visit! I was appalled! I wanted to make an appt to come in and discuss medications with him and the nurses said that he could not allow that. I could only come in if I was having a treatment (epidurals, nerve conduction studies, injections), and I’m assuming that’s because he makes more money that way. I used to love Dr. Runheim about 9 years ago...now, I don’t know what’s happened to him! He hands out scripts and leaves everything else to his nurses. It’s completely ridiculous! I have found a pain management doctor who listens to me, who is attentive and sympathies with my pain and my needs. I thank God for that!

Dose not give you his full attention. Text on phone while he is in exam room with you then rushes you out so he can make phone call. I'm still not sure how he wants me to take my medicine.

I have been seeing Dr. Runheim for several years now. I was going to a Mount Airy neurologist, but couldn't get any kind of help or answers. My insurance company told me that he was in network, so I called and got an appointment; I don't regret one minute of the decision I made. Very professional and caring.

He has been a wonderful neurologist...I've been going to him for years, and he was able to diagnose my nerve problems...gave me the proper medications that eased my symptoms. Highly recommend!

I have seen Dr. Runheim three times and have been pleased with his professionalism, his compassion and the information shared. I have to ask the questions that I have and his answers are brief yet precise and adequate. I will continue to go as needed!

Runheim has no relationship with his patients with communication. He’s in to give you meds after more meds and more meds. 2 hours of wait time, 10 minutes or less with the doctor. Stay AWAY at see someone else. Your life is more valauable.

Be prepared to wait 2+ hrs. in a room while he and his staff enjoy a breakfast or lunch provided by a drug rep instead of seeing you. When someone does finally come in the room, it's not even the physician you are scheduled with. No exam. Just an offer of meds. No one ever answers the phone and when you do reach a live person, you are just transferred to a voicemail to leave a message. Don't expect a return call for 2+ weeks either. How they are still practicing is beyond me?

Dr. Runheim has helped me tremendously. I have been jerking during the day and severely at night. Other doctors did not listen or would give me a diagnosis of a "big jerk as you drop off to sleep." That was not the problem. My B12 level was extremely low and I needed B12 shots. Even after 6 years of bi-weekly injections, I still have small jerks. That's because my nerve cells were damaged and did not completely heal. Dr. Runheim diagnosed carpel tunnel, which I thought was arthritis, and by using wrist splints at night, I have had a great improvement. His bedside manner is very personable and Dr. Runheim listens carefully to you. I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Runheim.

Dr. Runheim is an excellent Neurologist. I have been a patient of his for years. I totally trust and believe in him. If I need a lumbar puncture he's the one to do it. He is the first and only one that has ever done one on me and NOT hurt me!!

Great staff and excellent service. Dr.Runheim and his competency, determination, diagnosis, inspiration, diligence is a rarity of great multitutde. He is always pleasant and an inspirtional advocate for lil' ole' me and so many others myself and husband and others we have advised to seek him out. His quality and comentment to his oath and patients surpass expectations exceedingly. Thank you all, Dr.Runheim and staff for your concern and compassion.

Great Doctor always Kind and Sweet does a wonderful job !!

Drugs, drugs and more drugs with each visit!! No blood work and no other testing to prove that these drugs are needed. I was given Procardia without any evidence of heart disease. I almost went into heart failure. The waiting room is a mess! Very small in the King Office with standing room only! How can anyone stand for a great length of time when they are in that much pain! ???? Stay away from them!!

Dr.Runheim and his staff has always been very nice and professional ever since I have been a patient of his (since 2013) My opinion he is the best and caring neurologist around.

Waited for 3 hours over the appointment time! I came in with headache and ended up getting an expensive nerve test for no reason! He billed for over $1500.00. He looked at his cell phone more than me! This guy is why doctors get a bad name.

After listening to my mothers reports of experiences with Dr. Runheim i felt compelled to post a review. My mother is a former patient of Dr. Runheim. Let me explain why she is no longer a patient of his and will never return. My mother was referred to Dr. Runheim with low back pain. Anyone with any background in the nervous system would know that pain that is experienced in the lower body would be rooted in lower lunar and sciatic region. So, why was she diagnosed with CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome)? While Dr. Runheim has a good bedside manner at the start of care, if questions arise as to why he has chosen to perform some of his nerve conduction studies for areas of the body not associated with principle referral he becomes defensive. As an educated woman my mother became suspicious of why a nerve conduction study must be performed annually even when symptoms are not present. All visits to see Dr. Runheim was a 2 hour ordeal. The only explination is that it is a quick test that yeids high revenue. My mother has several steroid injections to assist with back pain yeild little relieve and increased issues with restlessness and increasing pain. Restlessness can be a side effect of steroid injections. What was Dr. Runheims suggestion? More injections. My mother was having so much pain her only comfortable position was leaning over a table in a 90 degree hip flexed position and was sleeping at best 3 hours nightly in a recliner. At the height of my mothers back pain she was desperate for relief she called for an unscheduled appointment again with only having relief in a 90 degree angle with her upper body resting on a counter top. She was sent to 2 offices that day due to a mishap in scheduling. What was causing her pain? A cyst on her spine. Nothing he did would have helped my mother. All he did was attempted to put a "band aid" on the problem. He never ordered evaluative tools to find the root of her problem. Please do not see this doctor. If you decide he is the doctor for you please do your homework! Do not just accept his diagnosis without looking for a second opinion. My mother has now had surgery to remove the cyst and is pain free, has improved her functional endurance and has improved balance and improved gait.

After being in the waiting room for 15 minutes, I was brought to a small exam room where I was told I had to wait for Dr. Runheim to finish testing another patient. The medical assistant kept the door to the room open as she said" the room gets very hot & stuffy when the door is kept closed". This is not good for patient confidentiality. It was hot even with the door open, and I waited 20 minutes. I easily heard staff talk to other patients. When the room was available, I was quickly brought down the hall. The room had 2 exam tables and nerve conduction study equiptment. Dr. Runheim came in after 10 minutes. After obtaining a quick history, and a minimal right foot/ankle exam, he brought me to the other exam table and began the nerve velocity study. I was there to obtain information on my right leg. He did testing of my upper arms. I questioned him immediately as to why, he was evasive. Without letting me know, he began inserting a needle into my right leg to do EMG studies. I informed him how inappropriate it was that he did not inform me he was starting the EMG portion. He agreed, apologized, and admitted he did things in a hurry without thinking. He hummed during the entire time he did my tests. I had blood trickling down from all the sites he stuck needles in. Again, I complained, he apologized and said I should have been informed to stop taking aspirin a day before the tests. His receptionist forgot. He spent about 15 minutes doing both EMG and NCV tests. He immediately told me I had idiopathic neuropathy in all limbs , carpal tunnel syndrome, and pinched nerves in my lower back, and that my peroneal nerve was "dead". He offered to do an injection in my lower back, to relieve pain in my right foot. I declined. I was suspicious about his statement that my peroneal nerve was dead, as I did not have foot drop. My impression of this practice was that it was a procedure mill. I complained to the office manager the next day. She spoke to Dr. Runheim regarding my complaints. He told her that he was a specialist, was able to do the exam quickly as he knows exactly what muscles to test. The office manager told me that their office did not have electronic documentation, and that is why it took more than 2 weeks to get FINAL test results to patients and their doctors. I had another Board Certified Neurologist, who specializes in Nerve Conduction studies, review the results of my tests and informed me of the following: - Dr. Runheim DID NOT do a comparative study of my left leg, very important for him to have done to give me the informatiuon I was seeking in regards to the damage done to the nerves in my right leg - he spent way too little time doing both tests - his printed documentation regarding test results was hard to read - he should be charging for a specific number of muscle studies, based on the info in his report I checked with my insurance. Dr. Runheim charged them for more muscle studies than he performed. Dr. Runheim also gave me a list of blood tests he thought were important to check to determine why I had this "generalized idiopathic neuropathy". His follow-up appointment was for 6 months. I showed the list of blood tests to my Internist. He had recent test results of mine that included most of the tests Dr. Runheim wanted checked; they were NORMAL. My Internist questioned why Dr. Runheim would keep me waiting 6 months to go over my final EMG/NCV study results.

He always send PI almost never see. Him
