Dr. Andrew Ennis Layne, MD

He was very helpful giving me all the information that I needed based on the medical history that I gave him. He presented me with the best course of treatment for this point in my life. We made a plan for down the road several months.

Supine position with arm to the side. Do you know understand what that means, doctor? Maybe you should share that knowledge with your MRI tech. I went for a simple MRI for a chronic elbow problem, but I left needing a new MRI for a numb rotator cuff and on a regimen of steroids to recover my hearing due to being put into a full body MRI noise blast tunnel with my arm yanked in prone pull-up position, bicep next to ear, while lying on my stomach, for almost half an hour. Nowhere on the pre-exam form did it warn about noise so I wrongly assumed they were 21st century enough to only scan the elbow, no tunnel needed. I’ve been in MRIs in the past, but they were never that loud, though those were modern university hospitals. Dangerous, that’s the best descriptor for Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio. The technician was extremely rude and had all her responses memorized from past unhappy/injured customers and kept cutting off my sentences. I was squeezing the buzzer for her to stop and she just made excuses to keep going. So I was basically being held against my will in an MRI. I noticed they have some kind of rep defender filtering working on G maps because my review wouldn’t post there. So I guess the penalty for Dr. Layne is now my review is not for the technician but personally at him. So sad but I guess that’s the price for over-filtering your G maps reviews. From the NIH website ~ Evaluation of the elbow on MRI begins with proper patient positioning, which should maximize comfort and thereby minimize motion. This is usually accomplished with the patient in supine position and the arm held at the side in anatomical position, supinated.

I met Dr. Layne today for the first time & honestly he was the nicest caring doctor I've ever had the pleasure meeting. He acted like we had known each other forever. He was very compassionate & helpful . Very good manners! Nice gentleman..

I have met Dr. Layne previously when my sister had an appt with him and he has excellent bedside manners and listens to his patients. Even though he wasn’t available for my appt, his nurse practitioner was the very same!

Very happy with Dr Layne. He did a hip replacement for me a few years ago, so I stayed with him. Now I’m sitting on the fence concerning a knee replacement. He is very patient and explains his position with the use of x-rays. I appreciate his concern and will be scheduling my knee soon.

I've seen Dr. Layne numerous times over the last several years. Today's visit was as pleasant and professional as all my visits have been. Dr. Layne was on-time. He was prepared. And immediately after my x-rays he was complete with a definitive course of action and what I needed to prepare myself in the next 6 - 12 months for a possible full-knee replacement. Dr. Layne is a no-nonsense physician with an exemplary bedside manner. I highly recommend Dr. Andrew Layne !!!
