Dr. Angela Culbreth, MD

Dr culbreth is very short lived with patients and does not want to handle issues she has caused.

Horrible attitude/bedside manner & guilt tripped me into an unneeded csection.

I was referred to dr Culbreth from my primary care doctor when I found out I was pregnant. My primary care doc said that dr Culbreth had delivered her set of twins and she was very pleased so I thought if she was good enough for my doctor she was good enough for me! At first glance the office could have been nicer as far as looks go, but the staff was fantastic every time I went in. My wait was never over an hour and Dr. Culbreth instantly put me at ease on our first meeting. Even her nurse Stephanie was very sweet! When it came time to deliver I was happy to find out I was able to be induced THANK GOD and no the decision was not forced. She let me try and deliver for 16 hours before the baby's heartbeat started to drop and it was time for a c-section. I was in and out of surgery in a matter of minutes and healed very quickly. She also did my sons circumcision which turned out great! I can't imagine anyone else delivering my future children and I would highly recommend her to any of my friends.

Dr Culbreth saved my life, literally. I do not care what anyone else says about her. Every Doctor has to make a decision...and every person is entitled to their own opinion. Of course it is human nature to not agree.. or think she did not do what was right..excuse me..but are you the Dr? Im sorry I dont like to see all this when she saved my life. I had a severe allergic reaction to some medicine and she saved mine and my baby girls life. If she had not been there I do not know what would have happened. She does move quick through appointments, but she will answer any question you have or concerns. Some people are to judgemental. She is wonderful at what she does..I would recommend her a million times over!

She didn't put things in my chart that the Doctor that ended up delivering my baby said would have been helpful and she could have been prepared for had she known about it. Which was a problem Dr. Culbreth caused by putting an IUD in me without measuring so it went right through me and i had to have surgery to remove it! The scaring from all of that caused extra bleeding during my pregnancy and when I delivered the Doctor on call couldn't get me to stop bleeding.I ended up having to get blood to replace what I lost. She never said one thing to me about it at my Post checkup. She just doesn't care.

I do not recommend this practice as a whole. The Dr. is rude and rushes patients to get them out asap. The office staff does not do their job. If you require assistance for ex. referrals or request documentations, records, they make it very difficult and complicated. The patient will have to stay on top of it and keep contacting them about it. It is not worth your time and money.

Dr. Culbreth is awonderful doctor that made me feel comfortable and fear free. Dr. Culbreeth was God sent adn I appreciate her staff.

bad bedside manner. refuses to admit when she made a mistake.

During the two appointments that I had with Dr. Culbreth, she did not spend enough time with me. She seemed to be in a hurry to finish our session.

In 2006, she was my ob/gyn for my first pregnancy. I gained way too much weight..I'd call her twice a week complaining of swollen feet, hands, and pretty much everywhere. She constantly told me it was normal everything was fine. When it was time to delivery she checked my cervix she said it was 6cm but another doctor came in later and said I was only 3. They waited until in the delivery room to tell me I had toxemia and that I couldn't have many visitors and no tv because I could have seizures and die. My son came 3 weeks late because she refused to induce me which made my condition much more dangerous. And in the end she didn't even deliver him she had a man that I had never net before come in and do it for her. I would never ever recommend her to anyone, ever.

First,her office is gross. While I was waiting in exam room my husband and I noticed a speculum in the sink with a hunk of snotty mucus all around it. We told her right away and she hurried us into her personal office. So I suppose she did not need to hear to baby's heart or anything that day? When I tried to share my birth plan she snatched it out of my hand along with my notes and then was frustrated that she couldn't read them. I write in short hand because they are MY notes. Forget about natural childbirth because she gives everyone Pitocin whether they need it or not. Get them in move them out. Very impersonal. She was put out anytime I had questions and even mocked me in the hall in front of me, my husband and her staff. She was also very argumentative for no reason. I complained about her to the head of the hospital and to the medical board. I stopped seeing her three weeks before my son was born and was so glad that I changed doctors. I had an uncomplicated, natural delivery with doctors that were very supportive.

MY experiences with Dr Culbreth have been ghastly!!! Sure they will get you in for an appointment but they will get you out a whole lot quicker. Im talking 2-3MINS TOPS! I am a 1st time mother and was terrified about this new experience i THOUGHT Dr Culbreth was supposed to alleviate some of this anxiety but she only made it worse. Every appt me all she did was check the fetal heart rate and ask if i had any questions...when i did ask her ANYTHING and i do mean ANYTHING she always followed with the answer "thats normal". She never explained why its normal or gave any supporting facts to help calm my nerves. She also did plenty of blood work and never told me what they were checking for or gave me any options as far as finding out if my baby was developing properly i was simply told if everything is okay don't expect a call. How vague is that???? I am a NURSE and i would never dream of treating my patients the way she treated me...perhaps it was my boyfriends appearance (he has dreadlocks) or even my own i look very young for my age..what ever the case may have been i felt like a 2nd class citizen with no health insurance and completely discriminated against. To put the icing on the cake to the this day she never told me basic information like the type of diet i should follow, safe working conditions, how to alleviate back pain (oh wait she did..she said thats NORMAL)Stress relief techniques etc..thank god i work with caring physicians everyday and even though this isnt there specialty they gave me all the information i needed. I have a new Dr and i feel sorry for whoever goes to her especially if your AFRICAN AMERICAN AND EDUCATED. DO NOT GO TO HER SHE ONLY SMILES IN YOUR FACE AND TRIES TO HURRY OUT OF THE ROOM QUICKER THAN YOU CAN SAY CASH OR CREDIT....

Angela, is a great OBGYN. I highly recommend her. She is very nice and always there when you need her or have questions. This was my 2nd baby and I had to have my first C-Section with my daughter. I was nervous, but she was by my side the hole time. She was done with my C-Section in 15min and I was in recovery. She came and checked on me and my daughter everyday after birth.

i went into labor at only 23 weekks.it was 3 days after my office visit with culbreth and she told me i was fine after i complained of back pains.my son didnt have a chance to make it.if only dr culbreth would have done what she was suppose to do my son would be here!!!

She always made me feel hurried. she paid absolutely no attention to my concerns,and I had a very painful pregnancy.Fainting,extreme swelling in hands and feet,and vaginal pain for at least 2 months;but these are just a few of my symptoms. All of which she said was normal. I was in labor for over 12 hours with NO pain relief. They finally gave a c-section. But things got even worse after that. I cant even talk about anymore. I hope she will start listening to her patients!

Dr. Culbreth is a wonderful physician! She's so professional yet personable and her bedside manner is unrivaled. If you're pregnant and looking for a doctor that will make you feel special and who promises to be there to deliver your baby, then Michelle Culbreth, MD is the doctor for you. I had a very tramitizing labor experinece and delivery, but she was with me each step and made a really scarey time easier. She is without a doubt the best doctor I have ever been to. I highly recommend her!!!

Dr. Culbreth delivered my son by c-section, my dr. at the time was not available. I'm so glad I met her, she was great, she checked on me the next few days that I was in the hospital. She was so patient and answered all my questions. Love her!

My experiences w/ Dr. Culbreath are exceptional! I don't give a whole lot of credence to "wait" times, as 1/2 her practice, at least is Obstetrics and that is often out of MD control, unless it's a planned c-section. But my wait times have not been extraordinate. She is the ONLY one to pick up that my health issues were from being overmedicated by an RNP. After doing the requisite tests that the RNP and her practice failed to do, Dr. Culbreath was able to determine that I was not diabetic and was falsly diagnosed. (She ordered GTT.. when RNP refused - 4 hr. GTT showed completely normal sugar levels). After adjusting and removing the meds I didn't need my health returned to normal and has been A-1 ever since! I've not felt this good since moving to Memphis, 5 yr. ago! She is kind, attentive, observant, and works well with people on a budget.
