Dr. Ayesha R Ahmar

I have been a patient of Dr. Ahmar’s for over 20 years. She has always been very passionate and kind to me and given me excellent care. Wait time can be a little long but she is worth the wait.

I was diagnosed with Lupus over 12 years ago. There are many types of Lupus and I have an extremely Low immune system. Anytime I get sick, it will take 2 months or more for my body to fight the infection on its own. My previous doctor in Maryland would prescribe something to HELP my body fight the infection. I recently started having congestion behind my nose and a scratchy throat. I just so happen to have an appointment with Ahmar already. Once we addressed the original reason for the appointment, I told Ahmar about my symptoms. On her way out the door, she told me to take some OTC medicine. (previous doctor and experience show that OTC medication don't help for Lupus patients) The NEXT DAY I was coughing up green phlegm with a constant cough and fever. I called in to her office and she decided to send an antibiotic to the pharmacy. She did not ask me any questions or go over my symptoms. No one called for a follow-up appointment after prescribing medication, to see if I was any better. My previous doctors would follow up. Fast Forward, when I saw her on my next appointment, not related to this congestion and phlegm, She sent in a PA. I don't have a problem with a PA, but after missing my diagnoses, you would think that she would want to check on my progress. When I spoke to her about what happened, and feeling like my concerns/symptoms were dismissed, she basically said that in the future, I should allow the virus to run its course, no matter how long it takes. My intent was to just talk about it, but Ahmar was offended that I questioned her and that I can make up my mind what I want to do in the future. I am a AF veteran and retired Deputy Sheriff. I don't have a drug problem and I don't lie about being sick. Ahmar made me feel like, her decision (not prescribing me something) was based on fact and my symptoms and medical history were irrelevant. My husband and I will be looking for a new doctor. Ahmar lacks patience & bedside manner.

I have seeing Dr. Ayesha Ahmar for quite a few years and in that time I have received the best of care from her. She sits and listens to my concerns and has shown herself to be a very professional, courteous and caring physician. Her staff is very friendly and nice. They always have a smile when they work with you. I would recommend Dr Ayesha Ahmar to all my friends and family.

I waited 1 hour on the first day only to be told that the doctor had left and I had to see the physician assistant. She made me come in just to tell me my lab result and also made me come in the next day to change my medication. In all of this, I had to pay a copay for every visit. On the last day of my visit I waited 2 hours just to see the doctor who came in and wrote my prescription for only one month. If you desire quality service avoid this place like a plaque!!!!

I had to wait almost 1hour in the waiting room then 1 hour in the examination room for the doctor. She had absolutely no bedside manners, did not greet well, no smile on the face. No professionalism. I would not recommend her.

i went to her 2x in oviedo wait was too long in waiting room consist of 4 chairs. i get uti (urinary tract infections) all the time in ny the dr there would give me an antibiotic and the little orange pill. she had no idea what the orange pill was.....that wasn't the problem i made a follow up appointment with her in the oviedo office when i got there waited about 45 min to find out there was another dr and she wasn't coming to the oviedo office any longer. the dr that was there didn't even know i had an appointment and he was into natural medicine. i left the office. don't even bother.

Just stay away. Don't even waste you're time.

Like I said I have no problem with the doctor but her "PA" who isn't a PA at all but rather a nurse is awful! He generalized me without knowing me at all! When I asked for some medication to help me sleep while I was having a bad case of Bronchitis, he dismissed me and told me to get some Mucinex DM!!!!! He treated me as if I were some drug addict!!! Because of this I will no longer be using this doctor!

Worst Doctor Ever. Pushing prescription drugs even if there aren't any symptoms! Stay away

Originally I made an appointment with Dr. Graham, but ended up seeing Dr. Ahmar. The staff is less than professional and the organization and management is mediocre at best.My experience, for those interested:I was able to make an appointment and visit that same day, which was great. However, I waited in the waiting room for almost two hours. When I was finally called, I went back into one of their small, dimly lit rooms to be greeted by an inadequately trained medical assistant and a moderately professional nurse practitioner. She put me into a room where I waited 30 minutes to be seen by Dr. Ahmar. During my visit, she conducted a test, to which after she informed me what the test was for I replied to her that I did not need it. I left the office with the understanding that the test would not be submitted. However, it was, I received a bill from LabCorp a month later. I confronted her about it, and her response was that "she felt it was medically necessary." My only question to her is that if it was medically necessary, then why didn't I receive a call informing me what the result of the test was? In conclusion, I have no choice but to pay for a test that I did not want and do not know the results of. Save yourself the time and money. Go somewhere else.

I went to the Altamonte Springs branch twice, once for a general checkup and the second for a gynecological exam. I told them that I had never been to a gynecologist before during my first visit. I never saw Dr. Ahmar, but instead the first visit I was given another doctor who I didn't know- but she was nice. The second time I was given a male doctor for my first gyn visit! I was very uncomfortable. I'd think twice if I were going there for the first time. If you want to see Dr. Ahmar, call and find out at which of her 3 branches she'll be.Be prepared to get prescription pills pushed upon you as well.
