Dr. Blair Anderson Jobe, MD

I know other people that had problems with the link system when it failed they blamed on the patient. People with the fundoplication nissen that would stop functioning after a year or two first they try to blame on the patient then they attempt to say you have allergies and not issues with stomach secretions affecting your esophagus causing a lot of symptoms. Then they treat you very rudely hoping you go away. I lost faith in this medical team led by Dr Jobe. Not good people.

Difficult staff to deal with, no one returns calls, they leave you hanging as far as test results, and the wait time is insanely lengthy. Also, Dr. Jobe does not perform most of the procedures himself, they are done by residents but the patients are not informed of this until moments before surgery. I expected much more from this world renowned surgeon.

My husband had Esophageal Cancer. None did the surgery.....after that, you never see him. He doesn't spend time with his patient. Doesn't give honest, straight up answers. He is a coward when it comes to laying it all on the line. He sends his interns to do the dirty work, and they don't give you any information either. Poor service from interns when we had to go to the ER. My husband died at the hands of Dr. Jobe and his interns. Jobe didn't even have the guts to come and talk to us, before my husband was released to come home on hospice. After all was said and done and I needed documents, they were not right. They were changed in many pages. Horrible experience. I don't know how he sleeps at night. I still have nightmares, and can't sleep at night.

Sadly difficult office to deal with.

Never available, Posted Cancer info to website and never even called to review beforehand, Terrible -lacks integrity bedside manner and OHHHH BTW If you are diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer GET A SECOND OPINION on treatment and doctors before succumbing yourself to this MOSTER

First time patient and the wait was over an hour to see Dr Jobe..... haven’t even met him and soooooo fustrated.

Without a doubt the surgery to remove my esauphagus due to cancer saved my life . Dr Jobe was everything you would want in a surgeon. I am so thankful , wat he did was nothing short of a miracle !

I was on acid reflux meds for about 12 to 13 years since I was 18. Nothing ever seemed to work except acid reflux meds and after reading about the side effects of those meds I knew I had to do something quick. A family friend told me about Dr. Jobe from a newspaper article and after doing lots of research on him I knew this was the only answer to my problems. I called and they informed me that I would have to wait a month or so to see him but I knew it was going to be worth is. They called me a week and a half later saying they had a cancellation and I was able to get in right away. He could not have been more nice and explained to me that I had to get tested to see if I was a candidate for this procedure and after doing the testing which I will say SUCKS I was informed by him that I was a perfect candidate for the procedure. The procedure couldn't have been more simple. I thought I was going to be sore a few days but I only took one day off work and that was to have the surgery done and went back to work the next day. I will say that in recent weeks I have been getting heartburn but he did inform me to contact them right away if I was having any issues but atleast its not reflux. I called last week and I know they will contact me this coming week.

My wife had a surgery by him and it was a total nightmare. Apparently she was his guinea pig. He seemed very nice at first. He was willing to help anyway that he could. He did surgery on her that she did not ok. He did bothing but make her problems worse and then after that she went hypothermic, had critical potassium and sgoukd have gone to the ICU considering her other problems. Instead she stayed in recovery at AGH for 8 hours. Not one single person from his team came to me nor my daughter what was going on and how bad she was doing. We did not find outanythi

I was very excited to see him! I had to wait 1 1/2 months to get a appointment with him. Then, when we went down, the lady said "We running a hour behind". It turns out, we waited 2 1/2 hours, got taken back, was told we was going to see him after another Doctor came in. The other fellow came in, very nice doctor and knowledge. We was led to have a scope set up and was told "Oh, we don't know where's he at!". Not a good sign. The lady went to see what happened to him "Oh, a friend of his needed help in the OR". Our concern was, 1, why could his friend not handle it? A bit worried. We do understand things come up but still. 2nd, we had to wait 2 1/2 hours to find out we could not meet him at all. No apology from him or the staff, didn't like that. I am suffering now but I ended up canceling my tests with him and went back to UPMC for my problems. It was like I wasn't worth his time. If you going to do a test on me, you see me ahead of time, not 5 minutes before hand. I would never come back here.

Dr. Blair Jobe is about the best surgeon I ever encountered. He is in many ways the model. He is everything anyone would want to have for a surgeon. His careful active listening, thoughtful and expert discernment and expertise in the OR are beyond comparison. He has given so many people a second chance in life, including me.

Dr. Jobe is so easy to talk too and explains everything so that a normal person can understand the medical terms. Highly recommend his office to my friends.

For more than a year I was seen by doctors in Altoona and my issues were never dealt with. I went to Dr Jobe and within a week he took care of my issues which was a rare disease known as achalasia. I was great after the surgery and then I developed other issues which eventually resulted in the removal of most of my esophagus . Dr Jobe and all his staff have been absolutely great with me. I have other issues also and he has been working with me and other doctors to correct them. Everyone on his staff treats us with respect and kindness. They are not in and out, they talk, they listen, we will not go anywhere else

To the negative comments about Dr. jobe I would encourage no one to listen !!! This man has been a lifesaver to me. He has been doing everything he can to help fix my stomach and I am having surgery next week with him. This man never gives up until he finds the answers. He's caring , compassionate and has an awesome bedside manner

Dr. Jobe s the first doctor in over 30 years that I honestly trust 100%100%. Compassionate, thorough and trustworthy. He honestly cares.

Dr Jobe more a less saved my life. I had bad grade c esopogitus I had a local surgeon do a Tiff Procedure on me and ended up having that fail on me and was dianosed and was told everything was fine and the Doctor couldnt do nothing more for me. I was referred to Dr Jobe and Dr Jobe seen the mess and said I was a candiate for the Nissan Fundoflipcation and he did it and Its been almost a year and I no longer need Prilosec I No longer choke when eating I no longer get heart burn or nothing its been wonderful and Great. I was lucky enough to get in with Dr Jobe He did more for me than previous Doctors have he truely cares about his patients and doesnt look at you like your another paycheck to him. He does great work and doesnt skrew up on you or butcher or blotch up on you. He actually takes the time and fixes things that are wrong right for you which is a plus West Penn Hospital is blessed to have Dr Jobe for a surgeon because of his excellent Knowlege and his careing and compassion for his patients. Also too his great work he does too

He is not a cardiologist!

All my questions were answered in language that I could understand. I was treated as a person by all staff persons. Surgery went well and my recovery has been great. By spring, I should be 100%.
