Terrible and unsanitary practice. Dr. Hersch injured me during my last pap smear exam and caused an infection and injury to my cervix. I had to come back for another exam, but Dr. Hersh sent her nurse instead to do an examination which is really telling. I was ordered antibiotics to help with the infection and since that didn't help and after several calls to the office, I was told to come back yet again for another examination. Dr. did not want to order the ultrasound that was discussed during the previous exam and see for sure what is going on and why the pain after pap exam persist. I refused to go back for the third time and being seen for the same issue and asked just for ultrasound order which I was refused unless I show up in the office. I guess charging more money for the appointment is more important than the wellbeing of their patients, so I was left with pain and unsolved medical problem and all that due to injury caused by the Dr and their unsanitary equipment used during exam. What was most upsetting is that they continuously blamed it on something else, even though bleeding, infection and pain started right after the first visit and pap smear. This is not how doctors should behave but sadly a lot of them are like this, they don't care about patients and problems they actually cause but about money. Horrible experience.

Great doctor, horrible heartless staff including office manager. They refused to fill in a short gap for my hormone patches ( so I now have to go cold turkey and experiencing bad side effects) that I ran out of until I could get in for an appointment ( like two weeks) while I was caring for my Mom who was dying of Alzheimer's and in hospice. I agreed to make an appointment but just needed refill while being there for my Mom. The office manager could care less, she actually suggested I leave my dying Mom to come to an appointment or they would not fill in the short gap. After seeing this doctor for two years I am appalled at how completely apathetic and unprofessional this woman was! I will now find another doctor who cares for their patients needs and knows how to deal with an urgent situation with compassion. Too bad Dr. Hersh will probably never hear of this.

Very difficult to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hersh at the Reston location. I do not recommend this doctor. She has strong religious beliefs and she is very aggressive with some health issue, in particular when you do not need to do some type of treatments. She is a Gynecologist not a Surgeon as it's written on the internet

I can not say enough good things about Dr Hersh and the entire practice at VWHA. I had my total hysterectomy in early Oct of 2015. I had spent years in discomfort and went to several gynecologists until I found Dr. Hersh who recommended the surgery and said "you will not miss your uterus". Dr Hersh spent so much time explaining the procedure and answering my pages of questions. I had several doctors before Dr. Hersh recommend a hysterectomy but I never felt comfortable with the decision until I met Dr. Hersh. I literally woke up from my surgery and felt relief from all the pain and pressure I had been dealing with for years. My only regret is that I did not find Dr. Hersh sooner and had the surgery years earlier. Dr Hersh and the entire staff have been a blessing. Dr Hersh is the first Dr I have ever found who takes unlimited time during my exams to talk about not only my gynecological concerns but all of my health concerns. Dr. Hersh is an A+ physician and surgeon.

Let's just say that Dr. Hersh is the one you want to help you make medically sound choices. From a miscarriage to infertility, three kids later I can tell you she is the one you want to help guide you through all of it!

Dr. Hersh and her team all are approachable and have excellent bedside manner. The office is busy and they run behind on occasion. Nobody liked waiting but it's worth it to be cared for by such a great team of doctors and PAs.

Dr. Hersh forced me to undergo an unnecessay and simple surgery to make money. I have more problems now than before the surgery. She used to be a good doctor, but unfortunately now she is only focused on making money especially since she lost a lot of her patients.

She is simply the best - incredibly skilled surgeon, compassionate person, very experienced in everything OB or GYN - has managed to stay completely on top of both fields

I have been a patient of Dr. Hersh for the past 15 years. She has been an excellent doctor - both knowledgeable and thorough. She is up-to-date on all aspects of her medical specialty. She spends time with me - I do not feel rushed. She saw me through uterine cancer 6 years ago. When advising me of the test results, she gave me options and when I gave her my preference, she stopped immediately and called a surgeon to get me an appointment. She cares about her patients as does her nurse, Christine. Christine also spends time with me at each visit by reviewing my history and laying out what the current visit will entail. I highly recommend Dr. Hersh.

Off and on for the last 14 years I've been seeing GYN's for increasingly heavy periods and hot flashes that began way to early for my age. This was my normal. By the time I got to her I'd tried every pill, was taking way too much Motrin, and already had an ovary removed. She was the first to sit down and explain all the possibilities, and how she was going to figure out the cause. And sure enough little by little, and without delay she did. Over the last 2 years, she did not once need to be reminded who I was or where we were in my case. She never pressured me one way or the other, and performed 3 myomectomies in an effort to preserve my lady parts. In the end the best option for me was a hysterectomy. She was patient, answered all my questions, including the dumb and panicked ones once my surgery was scheduled. The difference in the recovery from having one ovary removed 4 years ago, to having the complete hysterectomy done 6 weeks ago by Dr. Hersh was amazing. I had no pain, was off the heavy stuff within 2 days, and sleeping without Tylenol within another 5. The nurses also are just delightful, and always referred to me by name. Now I won't see her till next year, like a regular healthy person.

I recently delivered my first baby (boy!) with Dr. Camilla Hersh and was so happy with my entire experience. I became a patient almost four years ago and Dr. Hersh has taken great care of me from the beginning. When my husband and I were ready to start trying for a baby, Dr. Hersh sat down and took the time to review my history and diagnosed me with PCOS and was able to quickly determine I was not ovulating at all and needed further intervention. We would have wasted so much time and emotional energy trying to get pregnant if it was not for Dr. Hersh. Dr. Hersh guided us in the right direction and to the right specialists to avoid any complications. Once I became pregnant, Dr. Hersh made a plan to help me have a healthy, successful pregnancy due to my increased risk of miscarriage and gestational diabetes. I ended up having a healthy pregnancy and delivery with Dr. Hersh. While I was in labor, Dr. Hersh spent so much personal time with me and took the time to explain what was going on. I had a few very minor complications in labor, which at the time was scary, and I was never worried because I knew Dr. Hersh was there and would take care of everything. Due to her expertise, I was able to have a vaginal delivery. I was very happy with my experience with both Dr. Hersh and the rest of the office. The front desk was friendly and Shamice was very helpful with scheduling and billing. Lynn Chance, the nurse practitioner, was great and always made room to see me at the end of my pregnancy if I had any questions. Lynn helped monitor me at the beginning of my labor and made me feel calm and explain what to expect once I went over to the hospital!

She was my ob/gyn for many years, even through my first child's birth. Before pregnancy, I only saw her mostly for annual visits. There were certain concerning signs (like asking certain very personal questions that has nothing to do with diagnosis and giving me lecture about how I should have children early even when knowing I wasn't married yet) that I ignored as it wasn't enough to warrant the need to find a doctor as she seemed to know what she was doing and is fairly well known. I've since gone through another practice with a different doctor. In reflect, I am worried really for anyone to use her as a doctor. I will say that she seems experienced as I did not receive a mis-diagnosis that I know of, BUT if that is the only thing you want in a doctor, then she may be the one for you. If compassion or understanding in a physician, then RUN. Very early into my pregnancy, I realized that. But I ignored the signs. For example, there were certain tests that you get for determining whether your fetus may have abnormalities. Even BEFORE I took the test, she flatly said "just so you know, if anything determines abnormalities and you decide to abort, I will ask that you go somewhere else". That was after being her patient for over 10 years. I thought great, at my most critical time, she's made up the decision for me. FYI she is extremely religious (which I have no problems with), but it bothers me that she lets it guide her medical practice. But i thought, well if my fetus is normal, then it should be fine as it's too much to change doc mid-way. And thank heavens it was. Then one the day I gave birth. It was the worst. I was in pain with contractions lying on the exam table. Not only did she ignored me telling her that I was in pain, not helping me up at all from the table, she spent 20min lecturing me on a request I made to her office 2 weeks before seeing her about my concern of her having scheduled a induction only the day after my due date. I wanted to wait a few days longer if possible. First, why did she schedule an induction date without consulting with me at all? Second, why would her office tell me to wait 2 weeks till my scheduled appointment (where I happened to be getting contractions few days before my due date and gave birth that same day) if she is so concerned that her "staffs' time would be wasted on rescheduling the induction for" me and that I "would be putting huge amount of risk on my child by wasting their time". My goodness, one day! If I did not happen to be in so much pain and had the kid the same day, trust me I would have switched doctors the next day! Needless to say, I switched right after my recovery period was over. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself tons of anxiety and stress. That is my recommendation as having children are the most important milestones of your lives and you want a doctor that respects and cares for you from their hearts, respects your decisions and provides unbiased guidance. Not one that pushes their own agenda.

Dr. Hersh has been my Ob-Gyn maybe 5 - 6 years now, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a doctor. In all my years, I can candidly say I have never felt more at ease with a doctor. She answers my questions without judgment, she gives me options as well as her professional opinion, she makes me feel at ease more than any doctor ever has, she is serious and professional while at the same time absolutely personable and always compassionate. Excellent with any and all of my questions. She has come to know me personally, and I feel that we make decisions together. I have undergone two surgeries with her, and she has been completely informative (even if I asked the same questions repeatedly) and put me at ease. Over the years, I went to maybe 5 or 6 different Ob-Gyns before coming to Dr. Hersh, and she is top of her game. Highly, highly recommend her as well as the staff at Va Women's Health Associates.

I am so glad that I finally found a doctor who takes time to listen to my concerns and offer solutions. I had issues related to fibroids for quite some time and other doctors always told me to wait and see. After talking to Dr. Hersh, I decided that the DaVinci hysterectomy was the best option. I had no complications after the surgery and was able to go home the same day. I highly recommend Dr. Hersh to anyone who is looking for a great obgyn. She truly cares about her patients and their overall health. Her staff is very professional and helpful.

I've been seeing Dr. Hersh for close to 20 years. She and her practice have seen me through 2 pregnancies and delivered both of my children. She always remembers me, asks about my husband and children and is always armed with suggestions and medical advice for whatever ails me. I recommend her - and anyone in her practice - very highly!

More importantly, Dr. Hersh truly cares about your overall health and well being. Dr. Camilla Hersh has made me into a new woman! For the past 8 months I was struggling with heavy periods due to fibroids and an oversized uterus. Dr. Hersh was very clear with me about my options and with her guidance we decided that the DaVinci Robotic hysterectomy was the best choice for me. Of course as with any surgery, I was very nervous. However, Dr. Hersh answered all of my questions and was able to calm my pre-surgery jitters. The surgery was a complete success!!! On the day of my surgery I was able to walk without discomfort, and I felt great! I was on the mend as soon as I woke up from surgery. It is now 6 weeks after my surgery and I am feeling wonderful! Thank you Dr. Hersh for returning me to good health!

This is by far the best female care I ever had in 30+ years. Dr. Hersh and her staff are outstanding.

I couldn't have found a better doctor to help me. I found my way to her practice after receiving incomplete and cursory information from another gynecologist. Dr. Hersh is a skilled and caring surgeon who takes the time to understand your preferences and priorities. She was willing to undertake a myomectomy for my fibroids, when others were only willing to consider a quick hysterectomy. As it turned out, my situation was so severe that it did require a hysterectomy; however, I'm glad I was in such good hands because I never had a doubt it was necessary and well considered. She saved my life. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hersh for over 15 years. She has always been extremely personable and professional. She is comprehensive in her exams, gentle and patient. She clearly cares about the whole health and wellness of her patients,regularly inquiring about physical fitness, nutrition, family, and shares information that is insightful and useful. She helped me through 2 high-risk pregnancies successfully and is extremely competent, knowledgable and experienced with all matters of Gynecological and Obstretrics issues. On top of that, her office is run in professional, efficient manner with a respectful staff. I can't imagine trusting anyone else with my gynecological health.
