Dr Graf is a great doctor. He is very knowledgeable and really straightforward. He made sure I received the proper treatment I needed for my injury. Dr Graf explained every treatment/procedure very well and always answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Dr Graf to anyone suffering from any spine issues.

I went to Dr Graf by recommendation and I made the right choice by going to him. I told him about my pain situation and what I was going through. He took X-rays and MRI’S to see what was giving me the lower back and leg pains. Found out what the problem was and had surgery to fix the problem No more pain in my walking, still a little back stiffness but that will get better with time. My therapist Mark was helping me get back on my feet by doing all the necessary exercises and stretching that I needed to do.

Dr Graf is a miracle worker. My back feels better than it has in years. I highly recommend

I've always considered myself a very active and healthy person. However, I developed a bulging disc that caused unbearable chronic pain. I tried everything to fix it on my own but after a year and a half, I sought out Dr. Carl Graf to perform a microdiscectomy. Everything was explained thoroughly by Dr. Graf and his staff. The procedure itself was minimally invasive and was performed on an out-patient basis. When I woke up from surgery, my nerve pain was completely gone. And the recovery time has been minimal as well. I'm living my life again. Needless to say, I am a huge advocate for Dr. Graf and his team. It’s not worth it to live through chronic pain. I'm beyond grateful!

I got an appointment with ease, but if you are looking for a doctor to answer all your questions and spend a reasonable amount of time with you, don’t bother. He couldn’t get out of the room fast enough. Offer no suggestions for my pain, except PT, of course

Dr Carl N Graf III, MD is a very knowledgeable, caring doctor who is questioning and listening to my concerns and feel my pain. Unfortunately after my physical therapy and epidural shot I still had to have a surgery which was very successful. He is a wonderful doctor . I would highly recommend him to anyone who has back/spinal issues.

Dr. Graf performed surgery on my neck in May 2021, due to cervical stenosis and other related issues. He thoroughly explained my condition to me, and even encouraged me to get a second opinion. Now a year later my condition has dramatically improved due to Dr. Graf. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Graf performed surgery to allow a nerve that was being compressed to relieve the pressure/ The incision was surprisingly small and healed quickly. Dr. Graf is caring and helped me to get physical therapy. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Graf and the staff at the Illinois Spine Institute in Crystal Lake were absolutely wonderful! I had been dealing with lower back pain and nerve pain shooting down my leg for months and Dr. Graf was the only doctor that took me seriously. He was able to book me in for surgery within 2 weeks of seeing him and really seemed to care about the amount of pain I was in. He takes time with his patients during visits and he even went out of his way to hunt down the anesthesiologist right before they wheeled me in for surgery to ask him about a concern I had on my EKG. After 8 months of constant pain, Dr. Graf gave me my life back and I will be forever grateful.

Dr. Graf has done over 7 of my friends and family back procedures. He is very respectful and courteous to you the second you meet him. He is a very honest man and will not pursue something that doesn’t need to be done. He is by far one of the best back specialists in the Chicagoland area! Dr. Graf was extremely helpful and really cared about my back issues. He explained my options in a way that made me feel that he wasn't just in it for the money. His staff is very friendly as well. I developed severe hamstring pain making it difficult to walk. After a year of doctoring, having MRI’s, PT, Epidurals with no relief, my doctor recommended that I see a spine surgeon. A neighbor had recently had back surgery with Dr. Carl Graf, of the Illinois Spine Institute and enthusiastically recommended him to me. I met with Dr. Graf and he ordered another MRI and upon review he recommended a laminectomy. I decided to proceed and his nurse at the Illinois Spine Institute scheduled the surgery, she was very efficient and explained everything and answered all my questions. Dr. Graf performed the surgery and I was amazed how good I felt immediately following, I was up and walking that afternoon. I came home the following day and used a walker for two days and then used a cane for one day. After that I walked daily without assistance. I only needed Norco for three days for pain then Tylenol. Within the next ten days I was able to walk between one and a half and two miles. The pain in my hamstrings is completely gone. Highly recommend Dr Graf. He was recommended to me by a friend who had years of back issues resolved through surgery. I decided to see Dr Graf after experiencing 10 years of back problems and increasing limitations to everyday life. He was very personable and knowledgeable and was willing to listen. Based on what he saw in the MRI and X-Rays, he outlined what options needed to be considered to address the problem. We decided on surgery as the most likely option necessary to resolve the intense pain and discomfort. Immediately after surgery the pain was gone and I could fully walk normally again after a few days. After 2 months, I have had no pain or discomfort and I'm back to all activities to include walking 2 miles per day. Based on where I was, Dr Graf has given me back my life and I could not have asked for a better outcome. He has my highest recommendation.

I got my C5 and C6 ACDF with Dr Graf. He and his team did a great job. He was very explicative about the procedure. The post surgery follow up could have be better but the over all follow up was good. 7 months after I am close to full recovery and back to normal life/activities.

Dr. Graf was incredible. I had been literally crawling around my home for 16 days after a disk herniated in my L5/S1 joint. I knew I needed surgery. Went to another location and then had Dr. Graf as a second opinion. His staff squeezed me in for a late appt on Friday and he was able to get me into surgery by TUESDAY! Even in this Covid world - the staff worked with me and my inusrance to get it all approved in less than 4 days. I crawled into the hospital (per say) and walked out. Best decision EVER to go with him. The first doctor tried to convince me to do a spinal fusion - but I didn't want that. I never told Dr. Graf that - I let him tell me what he thought I should do and he suggested only doing the microlumbar discectomy (which is all I wanted done). No pressure for the bigger surgery - only took my needs into account. The follow ups were great - he was very attentive and caring. I would recommend him to everyone who needs a great doctor - you can trust he has you in mind at all times.

I was dealing with severe back pain for quite some time. Therapy and pain meds stopped working for me. I was to the point where I needed surgery. A friend of mine had a surgical procedure done by Dr. Graf and highly recommended him. My pain relief Dr. also recommended him. I had surgery on my lower lumbar. I could tell right away the pain running down my legs was gone. After several weeks of therapy I was back to doing most of daily activities with little pain. Thank you Dr. Graf and thanks to your staff as well.

Dr Graf is amazing. I was dealing with awful sciatic pain from a herniated disc for 2 years. He performed a minimally invasive Discectomy as an outpatient procedure and my pain was gone almost immediately. I would absolutely recommend Dr Graf to anyone dealing with back issues.

Dr. Graff is a tremendous surgeon whose expertise with spinal problems is unparalleled based on my personal experince. I have had surgery in the past so my experience level is high. His due dillgence is second to none and my recovery form the actual surgery was brief because of the technique he used. I had a Laminectomy between L4-L5 and Laminotomy between L5-S1. I am now 7 months out and have had 80 - 90% improvement. Plus his treapy clinic connected to the Hoffman Estates office has an excellent therapist who has been working with me.
