Dr. Chad Keith Franks, MD

Dr. Franks was on call when I took my child into the ER with appendicitis. An US and labs were done prior to the operation to verify the cause and he was in the OR within 4 hours. As a mother, I appreciated his professionalism, compassion and caring. He sat at the bedside and drew a picture to describe what was going to happen in surgery for my son. I've been an RN for 18 years and I can assure you that not all surgeons have his approach and demeanor with patients. My son stayed overnight and was released the next day. Dr. Frank's was reachable by cellphone for questions and concerns. My son had no complications and I'm so thankful that Dr. Frank's was on call that day.

I went to Dr. Franks for a second professional opinion due to abdominal complications. He said I had a hernia that needed to be repaired and wanted me to have surgery to repair it. I found out from another surgeon that this was not necessary at all. He did not help with my abdominal issues, however, he was more than happy to perform an unnecessary surgery in the process. Choose your doctor carefully but I would not recommend Dr. Franks.

He took out my perfectly healthy "functioning at 94%" gall bladder and caused a serious bile leak during the surgery that landed me in the hospital for 10 days and I haven't been right since. Apparently he is in the habit of taking peoples gallbladders out when it isn't needed because I know of several other people he has done this to. Be warned and extremely cautious. I recommend not going to Chad Franks at all.

Quite literally saved my life! Have never had a surgeon who is so easily accessible, spends more time with patients, and is so easy to talk with; he goes out of his way to provide exceptional care.

Dr. Franks diagnosed and successfully treated my condition that many others missed. He has my full confidence.

Tests to have gallbladder removed were not conclusive. had to read my own medical records to find out that my liver was knicked and damaged in two different places and that a cyst was noted on rt kidney when I continued to have severe pain at surgery site. Failed to read chart where was noted allergic to all adhesives, i.e.Band-Aids. Had a severe allergic reaction to sutures as well as goops of Derma-Bond(liquid adhesive) on each suture. Causing third degree burns. refused to acknowledge until two weeks later and pain was increasing with black and green blistering where the adhesive was applied and was made to wear it off for aprox. 4 weeks until I had to scrape it off to stop the burning and blistering. then was referred to Chronic Pain Treatment and have had struggles with him refusing to maintain medication sending me to ER and the ER saying it was Dr Franks responsibility to treat me. meanwhilke was untreated for several weeks requiring daily trips to er. until he was told he legally had to treat me until another dr for pain treatment started actually writing meds. Refuses to make appts to discuss pain and further outcome of surgery pain. and refuses to continue being my dr and sent me off to a general practitioner and is up to me to find a chronic pain center and have went to two different ones that ended up not being able to teat me because they only do orthorpedic pain not surgical site pain.

I was critically ill for a number of years and misdiagnosed by another Doctor. Dr. Franks was the one who went above and beyond to find the correct diagnosis even though it wasn't an easy one. Essentially, Dr. Franks saved my life.
