Dr. Charles Russell Boice, MD

Sure, you will have to wait a long time to see him but that’s because he is giving as much time as possible to another patient. He is worth the wait. His surgery skill is outstanding. Plus, he sincerely cares about his patients. He will go the extra mile if needed. Dr Boice is simply the best there is.

Dr Boice hardly said two words to me. He was 2 hours late for my surgery and said that I had canceled it, yet his assistants were on time. He told my family after the surgery that there wasn't any cancer then told me at my follow up that there was and they got it all. The lab report (that the nurse handed me as I walked in, and he never went over) state there was no cancer.

Dr boice is the best doctor I ever had he has an amazing Sense of humor and he has the best bed side manner he performed my surgery and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable after being very scared but he took all my fear away thank you Dr boice your awesome ??

I have never experienced such a horrible man. From the moment I walked in I felt judged because of my weight. I was sent because of a cervical polyp that my GYN found and wanted an oncologist to look at it. He didn't explain why but sent me to a doctor at Medstar who just couldn't seem to get me scheduled because he was so buy. I was scared and finally two months of cancelled appts with that doctor I ended up at Dr. Boice's office. He asked why I was there....he treated cancer and I was not given a diagnosis. I said I do not know. He proceeded to say "I would bet you have endometrial cancer." With your history and your weight lmost sure of it and that is why you ended up here. He never looked at my face when he talked...he would give me the once over like he found me to be disgusting because of my weight. He judged me and made me feel like a freak. I said I have no family history of cancer...do not have the symptoms of what you are saying other than I never had children and I am overweight. He proceeded to tell me, that he would bet on it and wasn't looking forward to the complications of treating someone so overweight. I started to cry and he said okay I can take a look at this polyp and see how bad it is. I said, I just want to go home after your little speech. He said, sure go ahead. Just like most of my patients... sit and do nothing and make my job that much harder. Go ahead..be like the others and just do nothing. Call me when you end up in the emergency room bleeding to death and expect me to work miracles. I said, I came here scared that I had cancer. I am leaving with you "betting that I do." You don't have to worry about performing miracles with me". I want others to know what to expect when you see this doctor. I have cried all night and am scared to death. He really did a number on me.

Doctor Boice is the best doctor I have ever had. He is easy to voice your concerns and fears to. I would warn any new patients don't go to an appointment thinking you will get in and out of the office. Going to one of his appointments is almost an all day affair, but like one other person said it is only because he will sit and talk to each patient to make sure they understand everything going on with their case. He reminds me of Mr. Rogers sweet and lovable. He is the greatest.

I have been a patient of Dr.Boice since 2013 I was really bad I felt like I was not going to make it,but Dr.Boice pulled me through I would not be here if it was not for him. He was very concerned about my condition and was always there for me he is the best doctor I ever had and I owe him everything thank you for saving my life.

I have been a patient of Dr Charles R. Boice for over 4 years. I am just so grateful to have had him as my surgeon when I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Waiting times have been long because his patients come first and if they need more time he gives it to them. Dr. Boice operated on me 4 years ago on New Years Eve!!!

Dr. Boice has been my oncologist since 1997. Since I returned to Vermont, I travel once a year for my annual appointment to his office in Franklin Square, MD. I would not consider changing him for someone else regardless of the distance I have to travel to see him.

I was referred by my Gyno. I was scared as ever. Dr. Boice made me so at ease. he said he knew exactly what was going on. He had seen my case in many women. he was very kind and very informational. He talked to me as a patient. He made a joke that I really did my research. His staff is excellent. he is very kind and caring. I would refer others to Dr. Boice.

He is the best. He does mess around, to the point and pretty amazingly brilliant. He has never led me wrong, has a fabulous dry wit, and I always feel much at east after seeing him.... about anything. He is the best. YES, he is always late. This means he takes as much time with me as he did with the last patient.

I had a late afternoon appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. Two hours later, I asked the staff how much longer they thought it would be. The woman laughed and said it would be hours and hours! I thought she was kidding. No such luck. I was finally taken to a room 4 hours after my appointment time. The doctor finally came in, did not mention or apologize for the wait, asked me a few questions, said he would be "right back", and disappeared for another 30 minutes. I did not leave the office until almost 11 p.m.!!! This appointment was for a second opinion on a pre-cancerous condition. Boice was to send a letter to my primary GYN with his findings. Six phone calls and three months later, the letter finally arrived. Their excuse for the delay was that their transcriptionist could not be reached! Wow. Needless to say, I found another GYN oncologist who is highly regarded and runs a professional practice.

This doctor is fabulous. He took the time time to explain to what he felt my diagnosis was and provided a worse case scenerio. I came to him as a second opinion and he took my case very seriously. If it were not for him I would have been dead. I was scheduled for surgery within a week of my visit and I could not have gone one more day without it. On my follow-up visit he had my pathology report along with post op report ready for me. He has been given a true gift from God.

Dr Boice healed me. Inside and out. I cam to Dr Boice thinking I needed chemo. But he gave me a life change alternative.

I had very complicated surgery - and am lucky to still be here - and I am doing great!Also - I had 2 terrible scars. His major surgery on me caused an even larger one - BUT - it is now almost invisible.His staff at Franklin Square is amazingly good and friendly - other places they are 'spottier'

Excellent, caring, compassionate doctor. The best in the DC/Baltimore in his field.
