Dr. Cheryl Ann Elfring, DO

DO NOT go to Dr. Elfring if you have any long term condition that needs management by a doctor.!!!! If i could have given her 0 stars I would have. I suffer from complex regional pain syndrome type 2. This has been rated as the most painful chronic ailment known. I was forced to have her take over my care when my specialist moved. Since she has taken over, she has consistently tried to change my meds, that had been working for 5 years previously. I have been to er many times for this and other diagnosed illnesses including ulcer and diverticulitis. To make things worse she just labeled my file as a drug seeker, which basically means she is calling me a drug addict. Now if I go to er for any reason, they wont treat me with narcotic pain meds, regardless as to why I am there. This woman is ruining my life. There are plenty of Drs. in the meridian township area. Anyone looking for a new doctor, please find someone else.

I finally realized after 6 years that she was not listening to me. My increasing anxiety was a result of never listening to my concentration issues. I have ADHD and felt my medication was no longer working at the current dose. I was on a very low dose especially for someone who really has ADHD. Instead of just looking at the neuropsychiatrist's report that clearly stated ADHD she just kept giving me other medications but would not allow me to try what I felt I needed. The last thing I said to her as she referred me to a psychiatrist was, I really think I have concentration issues. I left really upset, but did not mind seeing a psychiatrist, but she made no call or referral for me. I called several psychiatrists, on the list, and 4 weeks later,still not one office called back. I was totally out of my medication, but just could not stand the though of calling her office. I decided to get a 2nd opinion, I called a new doctor. She got me in the same day, and said I think it is clear you do not need a psychiatrist, and lets change your dose on your ADHD medication, it had never been changed in 6 years. My life is improved now, I am down to only taking 2 medications, got off the anxiety medication, and sleep medication, and all because my concentration was the real issue. Don't recommend her, unless you want to waste a lot of time with a doctor that sometimes has no idea why you are there, and will say why are you here? Well, because you told me to come back in 4 weeks. I am a highly educucated professional, married, and we own a nice house, and I had the same job the whole time I saw her. If I was sick it was you can see her in 2 weeks or so. That forced me to go to urgent care with a higher co-pay. I learned a valuable lesson from this, move on if you are unsure or feels like its not working. My doctor now is so kind and listens to me and is happy that I wanted to reduce all the other medications, after my 1st follow up. I could see that the one I needed treated made all the difference. The dose increased and it has made a huge difference, my coworkers are amazed, my husband is happier. I also sat for 2 hours waiting one time, they forgot me. Yeah that was 2 hours out of my work day. If you are looking for a new doctor, I hope this review helps you. Her nurse Alicia and the receptionist Amy are amazing and were always very kind.

I have been a patient for over three years, and Dr.Elfring has always listened to me, helped me make good informed decisions on medication. She is fast a diagnosing and is willing to work with you on many alternative methods. I was lucky that when I switched networks, she was in my new insurance plan.
