Dr. Chirag Rajnikant Jani, MD

Dr. Jani is an outstanding physician and his medical skillset is top-notch! I have been under Dr. Jani's medical care for approximately 18 years now, and his diagnosis and care concerning my medical condition (sickle cell disease) has been sound and spot-on. Dr. Jani's unfeigned care concerning his patient's well-being, and his diligent work ethic is a rarity. Dr. Jani is a highly trustworthy physician, and I would definitely recommend Dr. Jani's exceptional and extraordinary medical expertise to anyone who needs hematology and/or oncology care.

I have heard about Dr Jani for years and really never thought I would ever have to go see him. But I did- I was sent to him to determine my treatment for a precancerous condition. I was so scared but Dr Jani is so calming and told me I would be ok when he came in the room. He explained everything so well. I met with him several times and each visit he was so patient to answer many questions. If I had to undergo treatments I know I could trust Dr Jani to give me the very best care!

Dr. Jani is the best. When you hear the word cancer you are scared. You don’t know what to expect. Dr. Jani explained all of my treatments and what to expect. He put my mind at ease. He takes up so much time with each patient and makes sure they understand what is happening and answers any questions. I just can’t say enough about him or his staff. Ms. Alberta is awesome. Every time I go in for a visit she asks about me and my whole family especially my mother.

Dr. Jani is the best. He always has taken the time to explain every procedure to me. He is a very caring doctor. We need more doctors like him.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. To me it was as if someone had given me a death sentence. I would like to take you on a short journey of my state of mind. See I had just lost a friend to this disease three years before; All I could think of is what it did to her. I was very much afraid, scared, and different thoughts ran through my mind like; how was I going to tell my children, how was this going to affect my children and my grandchildren, my mother, sisters. I did a lot of crying and worrying, but what I forgot at the time was that there was someone bigger than all of us. It was approximately two to three weeks after I was told it was confirmed that it was cancer my mother came down to be with me. We were sitting in my den and I kept feeling her looking at me to see if I was okay and if I was crying or not. Well, I was trying to be strong and trying not to cry I got up and found me a room (which was my bathroom). I just started praying and crying and when I came back out I had a smile on my face and told my mother to letâ??s get out of the house. From that day forward I was called Sunshine. My fate was already strong and I knew this, so I had to reach back to that and rely on â??My Fatherâ?? that he will pull me through and that I was going to be victorious. At my first visit with Dr. Jani, which I must say was and still is a wonderful addition to my life; he came to me with pencil and paper and broke everything down to me where I could understand what was going on and what my percentage was to survive this disease. If I didnâ??t understand something or had questions Dr. Jani was always there to make sure that I was clear on everything that was going on with me and my cancer issue. I can go on and on with my story, but like I said at the beginning I was going to take you on a short journey. What I will say and what I tell everyone I talk to or that I try to be an inspiration to is that Cancer is just like going through a pregnancy everyoneâ??s journey is different; what makes everyoneâ??s journey different it their faith and attitude. I learned that Cancer doesnâ??t only affect the person that has Cancer, but it affects the entire family. Technology today gives us a lot of hope, faith and prayers give us strength, and believing gives us assurance that through GOD all things are possible. My motto started being â??I have Cancer, Cancer doesnâ??t have me.â?? To all who are battling the Breast Cancer disease or any Cancer disease: Keep your head up, be strong, keep the faith and you will be victorious. Thanks to my whole team of doctors starting with Dr. Jani I wouldnâ??t trade them for nothing.

In 2009, I worked for the Cancer Coalition and when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, Dr. Jani was the first to come to mind. He explained the treatment protocol and since I had lost an aunt and a sister to cancer, I was placed in a study. I went through chemotherapy, radiation, and 5 years of a oral chemotherapy. I am now cancer free but Dr Jani finds time to continue to monitor my health. Recently, my blood work showed a problem with my kidney function. Dr Jani immediately scheduled tests and put me on the road to recovery. My kidneys are now functioning normally. Dr Jani saved my life that day.

Dr Jani is very good, kind and caring.... Terrific bed side manner.. Always listens and eager to help..

Dr. Jani came highly recommended to me by several people her in Albany. I called and got an appointment the next day. He went thru the whole process of what was going to happen and had appointments made for me with the radiation oncologist and a surgeon for the next day. He ran every genetic test there was to make sure that the course of treatment was right for me. I was lucky that all my test came back at very low risk for the cancer returning and I do not have to have CHEMO, but I do have to have radiation. Dr. Jani and his staff made a very scary process bearable. Dr. Jani is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr.Jani's since I was diagnosed with carcinoid almost 10 years ago. He knew immediately how to treat my condition. After my surgery, he has been treating me to keep my symptoms under control. He sees me regularly and performs any tests he feels as necessary. Besides being one of the best doctors in his field, he is very caring and compassionate. I feel like I can call him anytime and he would help in any way. We are very fortunate to have a doctor like him in our area. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who is facing my situation or any other situation requiring an oncologist.

My journey with breast cancer has been a challenging experience. Through it all I have survived with the support of family, friends and doctors. I have also relied on my faith which gave me inspiration, resilience, patience and courage to continue my treatments. I would encourage other cancer patients to do the same as I have done and work closely with their doctors , I would also say to them to never give up and keep the faith.

I have certainly had my fair share of exposure to a wide range of physicians. I started my career at a time when physicians were a part of the family, made house calls, handed out their personal phone numbers, and were leaders of the community, Over the years, I have seen radical changes in our healthcare system, changes which have caused us to lose a certain level of purity and simplicity. Those changes have inevitably produced a new breed of healthcare professionals. So as we all struggle through the new face of medicine, we have to ask ourselves if any "humanness" is left? More importantly, can we find not only a great human physician but a great physician leader? These questions lead up to selecting someone who operates as an outlier in today's medicine, someone with the unusual skill set of core expertise combined with great capacity for leadership. His leadership style and personality can best be described as transformational, which is a unique characteristic. The great leaders are the change we hope to see in the world, and Dr. Jani certainly lives that change each and every day.

Almost 4 yars ago I was suddenly diagnosed with bladder cancer after my scan it was determined that this was stage 4 cancer and pretty much according to the medical profession I had just a short time to live, however being a firm believer in God and His Word He spoke to me proclaiming in His word that this sickness was not unto death but for the Glory of the Lord. In these 4 years and by many doctors my wife and I received many hopeless remarks as to the status of my illness, it was up to me to either BELIEVE God and His Word or receive the fate that seemed to be undeniable according to the medical field. I am still alive and doing well even though I am still under Dr. Jani's care in my belief I was well the moment that the Lord Gave me His word. There is a multitude of promises within the Word of God and if God said it than He will do it! So when life deals you some nasty cars seek God with all your heart and when He speaks to you tie a knot in the rope called faith and hang on with all you have in you "trusting" that He will do what He said He would do. I am no one special but it was a simple choice "TRUST AND BELIEVE IN WHAT GOD SAID OR TRUST AND BELIEVE IN WHAT MAN SAID" ! Dr jani has never tried to discredit my beliefs and has worked with me whenever I told him that I felt that "this" was the I felt the Lord was leading and I do believe that he too has seen the hand ofnthe lord at work! A person could not ask for much more out of a Dr. than what I have received from him and his staff they are as much a part his care for his patients as he is ,truly a wonderful staff. Very passionate and caring physician!

Hope - To wish for something with expectations of its fulfillment. Prayer - A reverent petition made to God. When I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2009, I suppose my reaction was typical. Following my surgery for bladder removal, it was discovered that the cancer had spread to several lymph nodes. I was referred to Dr. Jani. I met Dr. Jani for the first time and felt I was in very good hands and was hopeful that things would be okay. My only real hope and prayer at that time was that I would not die before my husband who was seriously ill with COPD. His prognosis was not very good. Dr. Jani prescribed intensive Chemo therapy for me which I handled quite well. The nurses in the Chemo therapy room were also instrumental in keeping my hopes and morale up. With their positivity and Dr. Jani's encouragement, I actually looked forward to my treatments and appointments. All the while keeping my hope up that I would be able to care for my husband for as long as he needed me. My husband did pass away. So now I would have to continue this journey without him. My hope and prayer then became that I would have the strength to deal with whatever was to come. My hope and prayer was answered a few weeks ago. At a routine visit with Dr. Jani, he told me I did not belong in a cancer clinic anymore and to go home and enjoy life. I am, even as difficult as it is without my husband of 69 years. But another hope is that we will meet again where we both will be whole again. There is always hope and prayer. Believe in it.
