Dr. Christopher John Dambrosia, MD

"Dr D" had been my go-to for orthopedic referals and pain management for years. Prior to a needed spinal fusion, he saved me from constant agony. He is ethical, professional, compassionate and enormously kind. I travel out of town to see him, if I have a need, which I currently do, due to old shoulder injuries causing arthritis. He is simply THE BEST in his field...look no further!

I had to see Dr. D'Ambrisia for my lower back pain, and was very nervous about what was going on with my back. He was very kind and took his time explaining what was going on and the best treatment option. He made sure that I understood my options and was comfortable with the course of treatment. I would absolutely recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr Dambrosia took the time to LISTEN. He made me feel comfortable and took the time to do what needed to be done and answer questions I had. He didn’t automatically go to the cause of ALL my issues are because I am overweight. Yes this adds to it but I had many of these issues before. He took the time to listen to the time frame the pain looked at the X-rays. I highly recommend him

Dr D'ambrosia has helped me significantly with chronic knee pain post knee replacement surgery with another surgeon. He has always spent significant time in our exams and procedures discussing the possibilities and likely outcomes. His personable nature is part of his overall expertise in dealing with patients with orthopedic challenges. I highly recommend Dr D'ambrosia!

Great caring doctor that took the time to review everything with me. He answered all my questions and helped me get my pain issues resolved. His surgery scheduler Ashley, was amazing and explained the procedure for getting my procedure scheduled and what I needed to do. She was professional and patient with me.

I have only been going to Dr. D’Ambrosia for about four months, but it has been plenty of time to know what a wonderful man and outstanding doctor he is. I have been helped by four different doctors at OCC, and the way the work ethic of each of those doctors and all of the OCC staff members are five stars and A+++. I saw this doc as I moved back to CO and he's in the same group as a surgeon who has treated me and whom I respect. In fact my surgeon suggested him when I said I need a new pain doc. The first appt went ok, but my narrative was not sufficient. He had a few years of surgical records in his same office and I feel I'm pretty clear in my communication. Plus he had my PDMP file open and was asking who certain docs were. He looks at my foot and says it meets the etiology of CRPS and mentions well with the opiod crisis I need your past records and tox screen. The UA is typical, but his record request was peculiar as I never had a doc decide later they are needed. I guess it takes less time to read conflicting records than ask questions. In the first appt he asked about a diazapam my ortho doc from a different office wrote a 5 day supply of only because I was in so much pain from an MRI that I never could complete. He did make mention he doesn't allow benzos for his patients. I had already been weaned off this med that I took for 10 years due to Oregon regulations so I was fine, I just need pain meds. I thought he understood that and I said the current regime wasn't handling my pain. He said he would treat me because I was already an Adv-Occ patient, but gave me a referral to check out a spinal stimulator from a different doc. He also mentioned they prescribe methadone which he doesn't. The referral he made went fine, but the other office is ran by PA’s and very far out of my way so I wanted it to work with Dr. D. I guess the kicker is, Dr. D did the tox screen with intention of prescribing and he had the audacity to mention I had a benzo in my system. No Kidding! How fast does he think diazepam leaves the body. Pay attention to the dates. I thought he was better educated about meds, but like all docs today he's just paranoid about them! If he followed the science instead of politics he would know it's actually a safer alternative if he spoke with sleep medicine. I have the test to prove it. It was also like he didn't listen in my first appt either as he was shocked when I told him for the second time I had two spinal cord trials in the past. Not sure if he figures why listen to a patient when he depends on previous medical judgements. This is a poor way to practice medicine.

Dr. D is a wonderful physician who is patient and kind. I highly recommend him to anyone!

Dr. D’Ambrosia is an outstanding, competent doctor who always has my confidence in his skills. He is very approachable, is a great listener and makes a big effort to improve the lives of his patients.

D'Ambrosia is really good, very attentive and caring. He takes the time to sit down with me and answer my questions, makes suggestion (excercise and any aftercare) and take the time to follow up with me. He's is great guy to have.

I had been unable to sleep comfortably for many months, due to hip and back pain - no position was comfortable. An examination and MRI showed bursitis and a bulging disc. Two short visits later, I have no back or hip pain, even after hiking 20+ miles in a day several times, and moving a room full of furniture! Dr D. and his staff have great "bedside manners". They make you feel comfortable and at ease. Their office was well outfitted with many COVID protections. Best of all, besides being a really nice guy, Dr. D is incredibly good at what he does - I feel like I've got a new lease on life thanks to him!

I have been seeing dr. D ambrosia for about a year now for acute pain in my leg and my shoulder. Dr. D ambrosia exhibited great care and patience with me for I am a difficult patient and Hands-On type person explaining both the medications that I'm taking and what medications I should be taking. In addition to that the identified the problem that is causing my pain that caused me to be there and is taking steps to alleviate the problem going to see him is a pleasant experience and this is coming from somebody that has white coat syndrome and had problems seeing doctors in the past he's not only a very caring but a very experience an excellent doctor.

Always willing to help and knows my case where he doesn’t even need to look at my chart.
