I saw Dr. Mason because of severe pain in my left knee. After a thorough interview he suggested an injection to relieve to pain and allow me walk somewhat normal again. Dr. Mason explained in depth what was going on in my knee and told me about the medicine he was injecting and that I should feel relief in three days or so. And as predicted I began to feel less and less pain. Now, one week out from the injection I’m feeling very little pain. Thank you Dr. John!

Whenever I have a medical issue or something that I need help with I go to the Sarasota Medical Center and see Dr John Mason. His team of doctors, nurses and assistants are very knowledgeable and capable. I've always had a good experience each time I've gone there from feeling sick to a severe burn. I definitely recommend Sarasota Medical Center because they can treat almost any issue that you're having. Thank you

HAS LAB AND XRAY IN OFFICE SO VERY CONVIENT. SEEMS TRUELY COMPASSIONATE DOES NOT PATRONISE AS MANY DOCTORS WILL. ANSWERS ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. HONEST AND DIRECT . NOT EASILY IMPRESSED WITH MANY IN PROFESSION BUT, HE IS MY PRIMARY CARE DOC NOW! MY MOTHER IN MEDICAL BUSINESS, IN DIFFERANT CAPCITY HERSELF AND RESEARCHES ,BEFORE SHE CHOOSES. Dr. Claude John Mason and his staff are beyond excellent. He is always very compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I have been a patient of Dr. Mason since 2013. His front office staff always try to get the appointment time you want and his nurses are extremely knowledgeable and kind. I would absolutely highly recommend Dr. Claude John Mason.

Staff is really friendly, however it’s really hard to get your prescriptions filled or even talk to a qualified person over the phone. 1st prescription was written incorrectly from the doctor. 2nd prescription took over 2 weeks many phone calls and going into the office to clear up. Now on my 3rd prescription and being asked to come back for another new patient visit to fill it. It’s really bad service.

I had a root canal and it was a horrific experience. I almost aspirated from the blood that poured out of my sinus cavity that was punctured. Anesthetic drugs were placed into my sinus cavity causing a total blockage of my left maxillary sinus. I woke up the next day completely confused, unable to see out of my left eye. I could not process my words to talk. I had severe headache pain. I felt like a stroke patient. Dr John Mason was so patient and caring. He talked to me like a father and helped to calm me down. He ordered me an MRI and some vision testing and I am still under treatment with IM antibiotics and decadron with an ENT. I still may have to have surgery to unblock the sinus and I may still have permanent vision loss due to the sinus pressure on the nerves of my eye. I am scared but I know that Dr Mason is sending me to the right specialists and his office called to make sure I follow up. His office manager Mark is also amazing. He directed me to help me with my insurance as they were not paying my bills and he assisted me in finding help to finance my medical bills. I just wish Dr Mason was there every day. I think he is the most intelligent doctor with the best bedside manner I have ever seen. Usually the really smart doctors do not seem to care.

Having just relocated to Sarasota and looking for a family physician, my wife and I contacted Dr. Mason's office for an initial appointment. During that first visit and general examination by Dr. Mason and his PA, they recommended a cardiac consult which, as it turns out, saved my life. Shortly thereafter, following two tests by the cardiologist, it was determined all my arteries were greater than 90% blocked. I had exhibited virtually no symptoms (except for two episodes of shortness of breath following significant exertion), yet Dr. Mason and his staff recognized the potential danger and got me moving along the path that led in relatively short order to a five vessel coronary bypass. There was no damage to my heart, and I am well on my way to full recovery. I have no doubt that Dr. Mason and his staff saved my life. My wife and I recommend him with no reservations.

Dr. Mason is, in my opinion, the best Medical Doctor in Sarasota. I Tried three other doctors over the years here in Sarasota none of which really seemed to care for my well being; I was just another appointment to check off. Dr. Mason cares a great deal for each patient. Another key point is that he does not do extra stuff or bill for extra stuff ... he listens, uses the diagnostic tools he needs, including his wealth of experience, and then provides the medical treatment required.

Incompetent nurses, rude staff, rude doctor. When I first went in and had to have blood drawn, the nurse drilled so deeply into my arm that I couldn't raise it above my head without massive pain for almost a month. I thought I had permanent damage from it. I'd never given blood before where my arm was black and blue and sore for weeks afterward. Then when I tried to call the doctor to ask a question, I called six times and left six messages and no one ever called back - even a month later nobody ever called back. When I posted the review on Google, the doctor said my review was fake because I posted other negative reviews. But I'm a real patient with bills and statements from his office. Next, when he referred us to a surgeon for another procedure the surgeon he referred us to we found out had been sued for over $700,000 and did serious damage to the patient. I know this doctor didn't cripple that poor lady but he referred us to that doctor who had. No I would not go back. He needs to respect people posting genuine heart-felt reviews, hire capable staff, tell staff to call patients back, and stop treating people like an afterthought.

Dr Mason is extremely bright and well versed in all aspects of medicine. He is patient and treats everyone with respect and kind consideration. He really, really listens and then takes the time to explain everything to you and answer all of your questions. He has helped me immensely to get over many bumps in the road with my primary health care and nailed every diagnosis perfectly. You could not ask for a better doctor, health care facility or professional team of care givers.

I have been seeing Dr. Mason for just over 3 years, and he is simply the very best doctor that I have ever encountered anywhere. He is super intelligent, well versed in all aspects medicine and very caring & compassionate. He treats his patients with the utmost respect, taking generous amounts of time to explain everything and to answer questions. And he really LISTENS (he is the only doctor that I ever met who actually took notes while i was explaining my symptoms to him). His team of health care professionals is also absolutely wonderful. A++++ in all categories!!! I would never consider going anywhere else.

In the last couple of months I have been challenged with a medical issue. My wife and I are new to the area. Presently, I lack medical insurance to address my medical situation appropriately with associated diagnostic test and labs. This is when Dr. Mason entered the picture to offer his medical expertise, knowledge, patient care and concern to rule out various things to address my medical situation while understanding my lack of insurance too. Thank God for compassionate physicians like Dr. Mason. In addition, his staff treats you with kindness and works with you to accommodate your schedule. Prayer and praise!

This incredibly brilliant, kind MD ran the ER at Doctor's Hospital for 8 years before starting his own practice. I have lost track of the number of times he saved MY life. But my spouse fell and I could not reach the surgeon. I wrote Dr. Mason an email. He was in NYC and LEFT the event to call me and get MRI scheduled for Monday. He called or wrote 14 times before Monday to see that she was okay. She had totally blown her patella. He apologized for being unable to make a HOME visit. Seriously? Where can you even FIND a doctor this good? He is kind, he is careful, he is brilliant, every other doctor in town I know thinks HE is the best one out there....so if you are LUCKY ENOUGH to see him? Don't ever let go. There just is not better. I have had over a 12 surgeries, most at Mass General by the Chief of Surgery...I KNOW GOOD. And this man is so so so much better than good. He is extraordinary. He just opened his second clinic. It was full to capacity in less than 3 days....and yes, he will STILL see you. That is how good he is. I could not be more grateful, not because I would be dead without him, but because it is just always a gift to find someone like this in your life at all. Thank you.

Dr, John Mason is the BEST I moved to Florida 4+ years ago. leaving a great Dr. in Las Vegas. Was directed to a Dr. is Venice who was OK?? Changed insurance & needed to find a new Dr. Thank God I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Mason. He is Kind, Understanding, Very, Very knowledgeable and "tells you like it is" Always takes to listen to your concerns and explains your condition in language that a ordinary person can understand. He is a terrific, wonderful person and a very gifted Doctor. There is none Better.

The staff at this office refused to download a referral form so I could get a surgical referral.... Left me to twist in the wind for over 6 weeks. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

The overall experience at the Sarasota Medical Center is one of world class service with knowledgeable staff and Doctors that are up to date with the latest trends and information concerning general health care. My personal experience is with Dr Mason. He is the first doctor that understood the goals I was trying to achieve but also helped me understand what I needed to do. He was well versed on how to help me lose weight and gain control of my other health related issues. He explained how my current state contributed to my chronic issues and helped me get on a path to recovery. I highly recommend this practice to anyone living in the the Sarasota area looking for a quality medical staff that will help them manage their health and improve their overall quality of life.

I have a complex medical and surgical history. I needed an MD who could THINK, diagnose and treat across my symptoms and figure out what was really going on. John can do that and more. He may be the brightest MD I have run across in years, but he is also definitely the most compassionate. I do not think I would be still breathing air if it were not for his tenacity, his sensitivity, and his care. He gave me my first 2 years without a major surgery or transfusion or hospital stay in 14 years. We worked together to figure out how to best PREVENT or intervene early on in my symptoms for whatever I turned up with. He explains. After almost a decade running the ER at one of Sarasota's Hospitals he has seen so much. He has taken all he learned and now can figure out what is really going on across conditions. He is a very special doctor and you are very lucky if you find him for your own doctor. In Sarasota, there is no one better to manage and work with you on simple or complex medical needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mason since moving to Sarasota Florida 2 years ago. I consider him an outstanding primary care doctor. I am fortunate to have found him. Within his scope of expertise, he has been excellent and spot on with respect to any required treatments. When my issues or concerns were best served by a specialist, he has identified and referred me for consultation and or treatment to excellent specialists. Even after referral, he has been ready to help me sort through the advice of specialists and make related decisions. I particularly appreciate his always wise and learned counsel in all matters that have come up regarding my health. He has emphasized to me the important role of regular screening, particularly for older patients. He has additionally done risk assessments, given my own particular health status, of factors affecting my health and longevity. He has worked with me to pay particular attention to my higher risk factors and how to mitigate those risks. I would gladly recommend Dr. Mason to any relative, friend or acquaintance in search of an outstanding doctor generally or, as I know him best, as an outstanding primary care physician.
