Dr. Dean D. Katsamakis, MD

All staff were professional, warm and efficient (Sarah Bush Lincoln facility). This visit was for a 2nd opinion. Wait time was less than 10 minutes. Dr. Katsamakis took the time to review and compare previous and current test results and explain what each portion of various tests meant, as my previous cardiologist simply gave me portal access to results and expected my PCP to relate the information to me, which was frustrating-defeats the purpose. of seeing a specialist, yes? He was professional and empathetic, explained everything to me in plain language, and made sure I understood my results clearly as well as post-visit care. He has a reassuring bedside manner and I highly recommend him.

If I can give 0 stars I would. Very rude and unprofessional staff. I was in the hospital and dr Katsamakis were my leading doctor. I never saw this guy, I was released from the hospital without a diagnosis, I was told I need to follow up with the doctor in a week and guess what? They told me they can take me only in a month even though I had life threatening conditions. And on top of that they charged me like crazy. Never again!

Take advice from the 1 star reviews, there are more caring and better professionals out there.

Dean, if you are reading this, I am literally not going to you anymore because of this last experience with your weekend receptionist. I am appalled that she told me she wouldn’t help me when I was sick. Her medical license should be revoked. Blame her, blame yourself, but regardless, I will NOT be treated the way I have, as I VALUE my life and health. Readers: I have seen this doctor 2 times total in 7 years due to: a) him being out of town when I am available b) his weekend receptionists being RUDE and not helping me when I have been sick This doctor is to be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. I needed an appointment ASAP and Dr Katsamakis got me in right away the staff was great

He can't decide if he's a cardiologist, a PCP or a weight loss product salesperson. He doesn't visit his PCP patients if they're admitted to the hospital. Seems more focused on quantity of patients ($$$) vs quality of care to them; his physician's assistant was more of a doctor to me then him. The office staff makes mistakes regularly yet his wife stands by them instead of researching to see what actually happened. He has 3 locations yet you can't get an appointment, if they can "squeeze" you in, the staff acts as if you owe them your first born. Very disappointed, unhappy, leaving in 2 months when I'm on vacation and can research a new doctor. Good luck to you if your choosing him as your PCP.

I have had a heart condition since I first experienced chest pain in 2004, and was diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease. Since then, I have had two stents implanted, and recently suffered a mild heart attack (MI). Each time I have encountered any of these four doctors, they have been extremely professional. At the same time, they have all been very friendly and cordial-- I feel like I'm meeting with a friend of mine instead of a doctor. Each time I've needed a procedure, test, or follow-up, they all took all the time that was needed to explain these things to me and my wife-- she especially appreciated the fact that they never treated her as a 'nervous nelly'. They answered our questions verbally, drew diagrams, showed us X-rays, photos-- in short, used every possible means to explain the various procedures & tests to the fullest extent possible. We have NEVER felt rushed, nor felt that the doctor was on his way to somewhere else. I would sum it up this way-- if anyone I knew needed a cardio doctor, I would send them to any of the doctors in their practice, hands down. They are not just the best cardiologists I know-- they are the best doctors I know!!
