Dr. Corey James Wallach, MD

When I first went to see Dr. Wallach I was suffering from sciatic pain. Following a series of X-rays, CT scans and an MRI, Dr. Wallach said that ultimately the solution would be surgery. I was not keen on back surgery so he said we could try Physical Therapy and Epidural treatments, which we did. The first epidural didn’t do much, but we tried that again and it worked, for about three months. But as the epidural began to lose its effectiveness, the pain came back but worse than before. I sat down with Dr. Wallach and said that I was ready for the back surgery. The sciatic pain now radiated down across my hips and down my right leg. I was having trouble standing for any length of time, trouble walking, and severe loss of balance due to the pain. He offered his opinion as to the extent of the surgery. But, he also suggested that I get a second opinion, which I did. The second surgeon also suggested a third. It seems that my back was a mess. The second and third opinions were the same as Dr. Wallach’s. Dr. Wallach scheduled surgery for April 2nd. I was walking in the hospital the morning of the next day. My sciatic pain was completely gone the next day. It has only been three weeks and I am walking more, and longer. I can stand without having to sit down every few minutes. I can do more chores around the house. I can wash the dishes, which had been out of the question because of the sciatic pain. Dr. Wallach gave me back my quality of life that the sciatic pain had stolen from me. I am now looking forward to physical therapy to help me build back the lost muscle, increase my stamina for walking and being up and moving around.

I am a retired Navy Corpsman (medic) so I went in knowing what great health care is. Doc Wallach and his team did not disappoint. I had a double fusion in my C-spine and three months later I was back on my Harley. Thanks doc and team!

My entire surgical experience could not have gone any better. Dr. Wallach and his staff laid everything out and it all has gone as planned or ahead of schedule. My pain has been minimal, I followed the post-op procedures to the letter, including doing all of the walking, and was off my pain medication before the script was done, and driving in less than 3 weeks. Dr. Wallach is a sports fan so he appreciated my needs as a hockey official, football coach, and bowler (and skier); he's friendly and direct and I appreciate that approach so he and I have gotten along well. Overall, this has been a great experience.

I met with Dr. Wallach in December after being referred by several of my other health providers. I would not recommend this doctor. As a woman of a certain age i found this doctor to act in a totally inappropriate and demeaning manner. He was dismissive and his entire approach indicated he had no time or interest in understanding my physical concerns that brought me to him after being told by a number of other health providers that I needed to be evaluated by a back specialist. I would not return to this specialist.

After waiting for 3 months for my appointment, the morning of said appointment they called to tell me that I must be rescheduled and the earliest appointment would be another 3 months away. They had absolutely no respect for me as a patient or a human being over the phone. I cannot believe I’ve been wasting my time dealing with pain that effects my day to day life only for some rude woman to call the morning of the appointment. This is not an okay way to treat people. I am devastated- this appointment was a glimmer of hope that something could be done for my debilitating pain and no effort was made to accommodate me after they cancelled the appointment hours before it was scheduled to happen.

I have been working with Dr. Wallach for almost a year. When I started with him, we tried the non surgical approach. It worked for a while, but then we discovered that I needed surgery. I was skeptical of his approach because he did the surgery through the front instead of my back. It turns out that was the best thing. The pain after surgery was very minimal. I didn't need any strong medication. Also one of the nurses at that hospital shared with me that he does not operate unless he feels that he can help you, he is not out to make money off of you. That says a lot to me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wallach's for over 5 years and he has consistently provided me with superior care and advice. He helped me to maintain an active lifestyle for more than five years without surgery, and when the time came for my surgery in early May of 2021,he was the only one I trusted to operate. 8 weeks later I feel better than I have in over a decade and am already able to return to many of the activities I enjoy. His bed-side manner is superb and the patient always comes first. He explains everything clearly and easily. The staff is friendly, professional and efficient. I have seen LOTS of doctors in my 53 years and Dr. Wallach and his team are THE BEST!

When I finally found Dr. Wallach, I could not ride in a car, sit in a chair, nor walk more than 15 minutes without pain. He was up front with me and could not guarantee pain free, but I needed surgery and he would do his best. Six months later I am a new person. I am back to walking daily, I can sit with comfort, and best of all I can travel again! Dr. Wallach gave me my life back and I can never be grateful enough!

Dr. Wallach has been amazing. He started my terrible back very conservatively, and when surgery was required, he performed a surgery to perfection. I was almost constantly at a pain level 7-10. I couldn't walk more that 100yds without having to sit down, and couldn't stand for more than 5-10 minutes. After a multi-level fusion, I can walk for several miles, (as far as I've wanted) and can stand for as long as I want with minimal to no pain. He is a life changer.

My husband has had 3 back surgeries with Dr. Wallach. Each time he was very thorough, explaining everything every step along the way. We felt confident following every recommendation he made and my husband is so improved!! One telling thing is that every nurse we encountered had wonderful things to say about Dr. Wallach and many said if they had to have back surgery they would go to Dr. Wallach! He is kind, caring and has a great bedside manner. We could not give him a higher recommendation!

Highest recommendation for Dr. Wallach. He performed spinal fusion L4/L5 and L3 decompression. He called me the night of my surgery and visited me both days I was hospitalized. Extremely satisfied with the Spinal Fusion surgery ! Dr. Wallach is an incredibly skilled surgeon, and I found him to be very caring and compassionate. I was in good hands and am very thankful for that!

I had a fusion of the C5, C6, and C7 vertebrae in my neck in 2015. I attended a free seminar given by Dr Wallach about current procedures he performed. After the seminar and my office visit, I knew he was the doctor for my surgery. I had a great experience with Dr Wallach from start to finish. I could not recommend him more.

When Dr Corey Wallach agreed to see me, I had suffered extreme lower back pain for months. At age 75, my life was miserable and I was unable to perform the simplest personal tasks. My sleep, eating, dressing, bathing, etc. all became painful experiences. Dr Wallach subsequently ordered an MRI which showed a severe lumbar disk herniation. When he saw the results of the MRI, he immediately contacted me by phone and expedited arrangements for surgery to relieve my pain and restore my life. In less than a week, I was home functioning normally without pain. I have felt no pain since! In less than a week I was doing household chores and exercising in our fitness room. Then, in less than three weeks, I was using our exercise equipment and hiking in the nearby woods. I cannot overstate my appreciation for his kindness, compassion, professional consideration and expert surgical services which restored me to a normal pain-free life.

I highly recommend Dr. Corey Wallach for conservative Spine care as well as Spine surgery. As a recently retired healthcare professional, my expectations and standards are very high. Dr. Wallach exceeds those expectations. Dr Wallach excels in patient education and involving the patient in their plan of care. I had a lumbar fusion 6 weeks ago and I feel better than I have in 5-6 yrs. I have gotten back the quality of my life. Three hours after surgery, I was walking in the hall. Dr Corey Wallach and Rebecca ( his PA ) are my heroes. My experience was incredible from the beginning to the end. Dr Wallach and Rebecca were extremely professional and provided me with all the confidence, knowledge and calmness I needed to undergo my surgery. I had a herniated disk and was in severe pain for 8 months. My injury occurred doing crossfit. At this stage, my pain has decreased by 95% and I am back to having a full life. While needing surgery is never a good situation, I highly RECOMMEND Dr Corey Wallach's practice--They are the BEST!

NIGHTMARE!!! Visited Dr. Wallach today, what a waste of time, money and emotion. He was rude, arrogant and could really care less about my previously diagnosed medical problems. I went for a surgical consult after several doctors said surgery was my only option, after physcial therapy, chiropractic therapy and epidurals. I showed up with my previous MRI's, which he did not even look at. I waited over an hour for my appointment, when he finally showed up, I never got undresses, he failed to recognize that I had a previous cervical fusion, yet told me I did not need surgery. I had a nurse of 40 years of experience with me, who was asking questions and he told her to be quite. I agree with so many of the reviews that were given of this man....he is rude and arrogant. I'm not quite sure of his skill level since he could only recommend PT and Chiro, which I've already had several times previously. I'm just asking that anyone who reads this review, to ask themselves ...does it make sense to go for an evaluation for surgery for herniated discs and never be undressed, never have your back touched and never check full range of motion for physical limitations. BUT, he did tell me to come back for what I'm not sure, since he did nothing this time, but charge me. Please stay away from this may, especially if you are a woman. He doesn't care about you, or helping you get better, he's only interested in his bottom line.

I had to wait 6 weeks for an appointment with dr Wallach,I have been suffering for many years from crucial neck pain,some doctors recommend surgery,I needed another opinion desperately,after filling the required papers I was taken to a room to be examined,an assistant showed up,and started examining me ,I gave her my MRI cd and asked her if she wanted the previous ones for comparison or the MRI reports ,but she refused claiming that the first 2 pictures were enough,I started asking her questions ,some she couldn't answer,then I said never mind I will ask the doctor now.to my surprise she said the doctor doesn't work on Thursdays,so I said I waited 6 weeks to see him why did you give me this appointment if I can't see him,her response was that she can do just as much ,and that there was nothing wrong with my neck and recommend physiotherapy and muscle relaxant,I was devastated and so upset that I went to complain at the front desk,of course that lady backed her up saying that the assistant was just as good,I said if she is so why isn't she a doctor, I said that I wanted to complain so she gave the name of the doctor's office manager,I tried the whole week trying to get in touch with her or the doctor himself but in vain ,it is easier to make an appointment with the president than with this doctor

Dr. Corey Wallach was referred by my internist as "the go-to spine surgeon" in this area. My experience demonstrated the accuracy of this assessment. I was in severe, disabling pain, with a complex lumbo-sacral spine. Multiple level disc herniations and foraminal stenoses were revealed on MRI. Dr. Wallach planned a minimally invasive surgery that would likely definitively address the problem but that wouldn't be so radical that I'd have a long recovery. Surgery was scheduled and I walked out of the hospital on the day of surgery in no pain. My post-op course has been uneventful, questions along the way were addressed, and 3 weeks later I have returned to my active work and gym routine, along with physical therapy designed to help sustain gains and minimize probability of recurrence. In summary, I can attest as a physician and as a patient that Dr Wallach is simply superb.
