Dr. Daniel Alan Ewen, MD

I have heard so many good things about Dr Ewen that I went to him for my yearly. I am so happy I did. He is very thorough will listen to questions & and explains things to where you can understand. I would highly recommend him .

Having never had an issue with my eyes, I never went to the doctor. Until I was required to do it for paperwork purposes. So away I went to Dr. Ewen's practice in Winchester. I was quickly greeted at the door and brought into a room. The technician gave me drops and measured my eyes on the machine. Dr. Ewen came in shortly thereafter and we did the letter test. Overall, I'm doing pretty good! Easy in, easy out, knowledgeable doctor and well-fitted practice. Recommend if you need or want an eye visit with a competent physician.

My 13 year old nephew was having trouble in school so I agreed to tutor him. After only a few sessions I noticed he was squinting at the papers. I asked his mother if he had seen an eye dr recently and she indicated he hadn’t. I called Bluegrass Eye and Laser and got him in to see Dr Ewen. First of all they got me in very quickly and from the moment we walked in the door everyone was friendly and very accommodating Dr Ewen was so warm and made his visit extremely comfortable. Not very many teenage boys won’t to be told they need glasses (not cool). Dr Ewen eased his fears and after his exam and consultation he wanted to see better and he wanted to do good in school. I am extremely grateful for Dr Ewen and his staff. Now my nephew is doing so good in school and the corrections made for his “sleepy eye” condition have made a world of difference. I would recommend Dr Ewen for any teenager with any eye condition. He has a way of relating to them that any mother/ aunt would appreciate. Thank you Bluegrass Eye and Laser!!!

His diagnostic skills are extensive and for me he took a great deal of time explaining my eye condition, and he gave me choices as to how to proceed with my eye surgery. If you want honesty and compassion, Dr. Ewen and his staff were excellent. Thank you all.
