Dr. Kleiner is a down to Earth, straight forward, incredibly talented surgeon. I had the utmost confidence in him before my surgery and afterwards realized that this confidence is warranted. Thumbs up all the way.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Kleiner. In my opinion he saved my husbands life. After going to a well named hospital in NY, where they attempted to do a whipple procedure and found that cancer had wrapped around the artery, they said there is nothing they can do. We went to Danbury cancer center where they referred us to Dr. Kleiner. He was a God sent. After 10 hours of surgery, which was suppose to be a basic whipple procedure, I found out that this so called great hospital had glued my husbands colon and small intestine to his abdominal wall, resulting in a more involved surgery. Dr Kleiner took his time, kept me informed and spoke with me that night. He has great compassion for all his patients. He is always available for concerns and questions. If you or a loved one needs pancreatic surgery, he is your doctor.

Dr. Kleiner was able to do what 2 highly rated specialists at highly rated hospitals in Boston and New York were unable to do. I had 2 surgeries and a very specialized procedure prior to being referred to Dr. Kleiner. He understood my problem immediately and scheduled me for surgery a week and a half later, not months like other waits were. He carefully explained my problem and it's solution so that both my husband and I were confident in our understanding of what was to happen. He explained the recovery process as well, which was not usually done as thoroughly as he did. Dr. Kleiner is such a compassionate, professional, and skilled Dr. If you need pancreatic surgery, get an appointment as soon as you can. You will be happy with that decision.

Dr. Kleiner is one of the kindest, knowledgeable doctors I have had. He took the time to explain my condition in a clear manner, and made sure I had the time to ask anything I wanted. He performed my surgery and on the same day when I awoke he was there to explain exactly what happened. I couldn't be happier with him and his entire staff.

Dr. Kleiner was moved to Danbury Hospital as a surgeon, and what a miracle that turned out to be for me. After being rejected by the surgeon at New Haven Hospital, for having "too risky" of a condition, Dr. Kliener accepted my case and operated. Through his expertise he successfully removed the effected area of my stomach and did all that was possible, to ensure that he had removed every part of the tumor. Because of him, I went from a Stage 4, gastric cancer patient, to a cancer-free survivor. Two years later, I am alive and well, and owe a great deal of gratitude to this amazing doctor.

Dr. Kleiner took excellent care of my 86-year old mother. Although her surgery was simpler than many he performs, he was just as thorough and involved as if it had been much more serious. We were very pleased with him and would recommend him to anyone. Danbury Hospital is very fortunate to have Dr. Kleiner on staff.

I would recommend him highly. He spent time explaining my condition, what the procedure would entail, even drew diagrams of how the surgery would be performed. He was thoughtful, caring, patient and genuinely interested. I will choose him again if another surgery is needed. He's a winner!

Dr. Kleiner is an amazing surgeon. His knowledge of the very latest surgical procedures allowed him to remove my pancreas without the cancer spreading to other parts of my body. Along with the Oncology team at Danbury Hospital, he saved my life.

Dr. Kleiner saved my life. His miracle hands removed my right liver lobe, gall bladder and associated bile ducts using a laparoscopic procedure which no other surgeon to my knowledge is capable of. You have to understand that this procedure allowed me to recuperate in half the time it might have taken if I was operated on in the usual manner. Dr. Kleiner takes the time to fully explain his operative procedure and I found him to be a warm person and caring doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Kleiner to any person needing surgery.

Dr. Daniel E. Kleiner performed laparoscopic liver resection on me four weeks ago. I was extremely impressed with all aspects of his care. His professionalism, knowledge and thoroughness from first office visit through post surgery follow up exceeded all expectations. I believe at this time he is the only surgeon performing laparoscopic liver surgery in Connecticut. I would highly recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Kleiner after a CTscan and a biopsy revealed that I had a malignant neuroendocrine tumor on my pancreas and a suspicious nodule on my appendix. Using laproscopic surgery, Dr. Kleiner removed half of my pancreas, my spleen, appendix, and part of my small intestine, and a small part of my adrenal gland. I am still in awe of how he was able to do this through a one and a half inch incision. I was up out of bed later that night and walking the hospital corridor the next day. I consider this to be a testament to Dr. Kleiner's skill as a surgeon. During his daily post operative visits in the hosital, he showed genuine concern for my well being, and he exhibited the the same caring and kind bedside manner during my follow up visits. In addition, his staff provided much helpful advice and support and were especially patient in addressing my concerns. I really feel very fortunate that such a compassionate and highly skilled surgeon was available when I required this surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kleiner to anyone needing surgery for pancreatic cancer.

Dr. Kleiner explained why I was suffering and explained how the surgery would be performed. I have not felt this good in many years. I have energy and I can breath with ease again. I am really happy with the results and Dr. Kleiner and his team.

Dr. Kleiner operated on me to remove an inflamed gallbladder, some lymph nodes, and a liver resection. From the very first visit to the last, my husband and I were very impressed and grateful for his help. He explained the entire procedure, complete with diagrams, his reasoning, what the risks were, and what we could expect. His staff were helpful and diligent in getting tests scheduled. During the lengthy procedure, my husband was updated on an hourly basis and at the end of it informed of how the procedure went. It went exactly as he planned. While in the hospital, he followed up daily, I think twice one day. He took time to get to know us and listened very carefully. He also very thoughtfully set our expectations, cautiously, until we got the full pathology report, which he then reviewed with us in person. We had the impression he would discuss things at any level of detail we required. Competent and caring is really an understatement. We would highly recommend him. First rate!
