He is one of the top surgeons at the best Orthopaedic hospital in the country. Do not hesitate to see him for any knee or hip issues.

Dr. Nawabi recently performed a hip resurfacing for me after all other options had been exhausted. The doctor patiently met with me a number of times, answered all my questions clearly and provided valuable, reassuring feedback every step of the way. I was quite nervous on the day of the procedure yet he arrived, early of course, and once again filled me with confidence that we were on the right path. Waking up following the operation - who do I see right there in the room waiting for me was the Doctor! Clearly he had come out of his way as he had on a ski jacket I believe, but the extra mile of his providing that personal confirmation that the work he did went without incident educated me how fortunate I was to be taken care of by a surgeon who allows the HSS to maintain their record of excellence.

My husband just completed his 1 year follow up for his hip replacement performed by Dr. Danal Nawabi at Hospital for Special Surgeries in Manhattan. I shouldn't have waited to write a review. We consulted with a Dr from a large local group in Poughkeepsie, NY and Dr. Nawabi at HSS. Night and day. It was a fabulous experience from every aspect: the streamlined professionalism of HSS, Dr Nawabi's ability as a skilled surgeon and his outstanding patient caring and communication. Since day one we NEVER found it difficult to reach him. Our local ortho group was a maze of telephone prompts after which an admin returns the call with a cryptic response to a question. On the contrary, Dr. Nawabi actually reaches out himself. Unsolicited, he contacted us two days after our initial consult back in 2017 to see if we had any additional questions. And get this... a couple months ago my husband was experiencing an odd sensation in his leg so he dropped a question to Dr. Nawabi via the HSS portal. We were only expecting an email response so we were shocked when Dr. Nawabi actually called 2 hours later! They spoke at length. Dr. Nawabi allayed his fears and suggested some simple steps to try and eliminate the sensation (which by the way worked). It is rare that you find a physician that is both highly capable and practices caring through unbelievable communication. So happy we chose HSS and Dr. Nawabi. Well worth the 2 hour drive. Needless to say the review is a HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I tore my ACL playing soccer and was distraught. I went to see multiple doctors that gave me conflicting advice. With a recommendation from a close friend, I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Nawabi. From the moment he walked in to see me I felt at ease. He is the most compassionate, patient and knowledgable doctor you will ever meet. He performed a careful examination of my knee and went through all my test results in detail. He is up to date with all the latest techniques. He made a very clear case for surgery including his techniques and also a timeline for rehab. I am now a year out from having an 'all-inside' ACL surgery and am back on the field and my knee feels stronger than ever. I thank my lucky stars everyday that I found Dr. Nawabi. His staff have also been so professional and helpful. If you ever need a doctor for an ACL tear, look no further than Dr. Nawabi! He is just the best!

I injured my ACL while in gym class, and I am so glad that I found Dr Nawabi. His staff was very prompt in scheduling me for an appointment, and he took the time to explain my injury in detail. I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Nawabi is kind and helpful; a good diagnostician with a decent bedside manner, but his office stinks. Impossible to request anything through this poorly run and unprofessional staff. One of the worst experiences I've ever encountered anywhere. No return calls, unorganized processes, rude and inconsiderate receptionists..... Not sure it's worth the effort to try to see him.
