Dr. David Brannan Durham, MD

Best around.

Dr. Durham pulled me out of a pit of despair. When I lost my job, he continued to see me and would not accept any payment. Its men like him who make the world better. Thank you is not enough.

Dr. Dave is a down to earth doc who is as bright and insightful as he is warm and caring. He has scary insight and has helped me every visit. He also calls me between visits to check in on me. It is difficult to become a patient but I am so happy I didn.

Dr. Durham stuck with me and believed in me even though I not only didn't believe in myself, but I hated myself and repeatedly did harmful things. There were times he was blunt to a point of it being painful at the time. As I look back, he saw things in me that I only can see now. It it because of his commitment and really tireless efforts that I'm here today. Really the best psych you'll find anywhere and you're lucky if you have him as your doctor. I'm so grateful to him.

Dr. Dave is really detailed and careful. He spent a lot of time with me and even called me the next day to see how I was doing. He was able to help me get off two medications (one was Xanax which I was one for more than two years) and spoke with my other doctor and PA to coordinate. It's hard to become a patient but once you do he is there for you. I have a lot of respect for him and it's clear that everyone else that comes in touch with him does too.

I have seen three psychiatrists over the past fifteen years, and they were all pretty good, but Dr. Durham was head and shoulders above. He was able to get me off some of my medications and with therapy and only two meds I've been the most stable I've ever been. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Smart, dedicated and compassionate. Gave us hope when we had none.

A doctors' doctor!

This is a great doctor in every way. If there is a way to get someone better, he will find it. A very very caring and good man in every way. He never gave up on my wife when everyone else did. When she lost her insurance for a few months, he insisted on seeing her for no charge. At times he saw her weekly. Twice he came to our house because she just couldn't leave (we are in our late 70s). I just can't write enough good things about him.

Dr. Dave cared for my mom like his own. He was so generous with his time and explained everything he did. Most important he got our mom better. He is overworked by his hospital but never missed a step despite this.

A good doctor. A generous man. A busy man. A respectable man most certainly. He enjoys success as much he enjoys a challenge. His intelligence both as interpersonal as it is technical. A rare and valuable quality. But....half the time I can't even figure out where the guy currently works....I'd say he'd be better as a researcher than a practitioner, but then I'd have been unlikely to have met him and been helped to the degree he was able...

A consummate professional, and a humble doctor. Always follows up and is obsessive about detail. I am, for the first time in ten years, in remission from the depression that has haunted my life.

First of all, the address listed here seems incorrect. I was treated by Dr. Durham in a hospital setting at Central Desert Behavioral. He saved my life. He is a great person, and he knows his business very well. He was able to successfully treat my depression for the first time in ten years, and get me off of Ativan, which I had not been able to do.

I've worked with psychiatrists and offices for 40 years. Sage is the worst on all fronts, right down to their on-call physician who said she couldn't help me because she didn't know me. Really ?? I get calls confirming appointments I don't have and nobody there seems to know what they are doing. The doctor spent the whole appointment, knowing I was suffering from significant depression, typing on his computer rather than talking with me. Stay away from here if you want to be taken care of by professional, capable people.

It's hard to review someone who has done so much for me...and for others I have personally witnessed. Really. I can simply write that it will be more than evident in every way that he was made to heal people. You will find him confident yet humble and warm. He said to me "I am you...we are in the same club...we are neighbors...and eat at the same table". I will not forget this because he meant every word. One of the only doctors I have truly trusted because he is not overly confident and is methodical and careful, especially with his opinions and recommendations. And believe it or not, he takes criticism like a champ. I was angry last visit (was a misunderstanding with him but a problem with his staff), and was quite direct and vocal with him. He listened and said "How can I fix this right now...how can we make a plan so this doesn't happen again?". And right there he took the time to fix things so the problem with his staff would not happen again. I know I should not have been eavesdropping in the next room before my visit, but as I was walking past it to the bathroom, a patient in the next room was leaving and was nearly in tears...because she wasn't able to afford her gas and Dr. Durham took money out of his own pocket and gave it to her for gas. I heard him say, "How do you not know that one day I will not be asking you for help? We are the same. Just today, I have the paper in my pocket you can exchange for the gas for your car. If that is the most I have to do to make you well, then you're an easy patient". He is a great man.
