Dr. David Alvin Gubin, MD

Dr Gubin is the best urologist I've seen in Memphis. He is knowledgeable, informative, understanding and listens to your concerns. He takes his time to ensure your understand any health issues / concerns! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a urologist. His staff is wonderful! I walked away, very impressed with the overall experience. HIGHLY recommend.

I went in and saw Dr. Gubin for kidney stones. He was very thorough and explained exactly what needed to be done. He and his staff were very efficient in getting everything arranged very quickly. I had surgery the following day and did not have any complications from procedure. When I went in for follow up he even went as far as to do a work up to see why I make stones. Dr. Gubin did a great job! Would highly recommend him.

I came in to see Dr. Gubin for ongoing urination issues. He and his staff were great and he made me feel comfortable through the whole process. I would highly recommend him for any urological needs.

I went in with some urinary problems and Dr. Gubin was able to solve all my problems. He was very quick, but thorough. He answered all of my questions and was able to get my problem fixed with an outpatient procedure. He did a great job!

I saw Dr. Gubin as a new patient and had a great experience. I didn’t wait long and the overall experience was great. He explained everything to me and made me feel very comfortable with everything. I would highly recommend Dr. Gubin to anyone for urological problems.

Dr. Gubin will likely spend less than 60 seconds with you. When I asked questions, he interrupted me midsentence. He is only interested in seeing as many patients as possible. If you see him, you will get poor medical care, poor bedside manner, and poor service by the staff in the lobby. He rushes everything, including surgeries.

This was my first visit. Front desk was pleasant. Even the first timer paperwork was a little less intrusive than normal. Nurse Ashley was nice as was all the staff. This was my first rectal prostate exam in 8-10 years and was the easiest one I have ever had. With my prior Dr., it was like he was digging for gold with his finger. Dr. Gubin was swift and painless. I was concerned about prostate cancer as it runs in my family. Dr. Gubin explained the tests he would run and other options concerned with my overall urological health. This visit to Dr. Gubin was one of best, if not The Best experiences with a doctor ever and I am 67 years old.

I go twice per month for testosterone shots and no matter how many patients are in there his staff gets me in and out of there with ease. The nurses are very good with wonderful personalities which makes going to the Dr very simple. Keep it up

Dr. Gubin dropped the ball with me in terms of treating me for kidney stones. Would not recommend him or his office staff. In fact his office will not return my call they choose to speak with my husband instead. Very poor quality in terms of bed-side manner.

Dr. Gubin and his staff were great. I was seen before my appointment time and he and his staff were very efficient. Every time I have called his office returns my calls the same day and I would highly recommend him.

my husband is an 84 yr old vet....they were unable to do the surgery at va... went thru vet choice for dr. gubin.... was extremely pleased with the results of surgery... he has had no problems since..

Was very impressed with Dr. Gubin. My PCP faxed my records to Dr. Gubin and it was already in my chart. Therefore Dr. Gubin already reviewed my records and had a plan/treatment for my problem. I know that seems like a very small issue, to deal with going to a specialist and having to explain previous treatment and starting from scratch vs. Dr. Gubin with his electronic medical record system and his dictation through his phone directly goes into my chart made the office visit so much better. It allowed him to have more time with me to explain what and why vs. me having to explain past. He has a very impressive bedside manner, he's very detailed oriented and made sure before I left the office that all my questions/concerns were addressed and assured that he would discuss with my other physicians to keep everyone on the same page. I would highly recommend Dr. Gubin.

Dr. Gubin is very prompt and efficient. His staff has always made every effort to meet my needs with concern and compassion.

Worst doctor I have ever met. More interested in running through patients than listening to what I have to say. In all seriousness, when I have a problem and go to a doctor I expect to be able to explain myself and my problem to the doctor. Not with this doctor. Sure the wait in the waiting room wasn't long, but neither is the time I am able to see the doctor. I was called back, nurses took my BP and everything....then the doctor comes in. He asks me how I am doing, then he interrupts me and starts talking to his phone. It would seem he is more interested in getting me in and out, then collecting on my behalf; than the quality of my health/care. I wouldn't send my enemy to this guy. STAY AWAY from him, he doesn't and wont care about you.

I have been seeing Dr. Gubin regularly now for quite some time. Not only is he an incredibly well-informed and well-mannered doctor, his staff is also quite impressive! Dr. Gubin pays attention to my needs and listens to me before providing a full report. On top of that, he has two great assistants... Personally, there is one that is clearly much more qualified than the other, so I only schedule my appointments around the qualified individual. That being said, Dr. Gubin and his PA are a delight to visit and make my hospital visits much more pleasant than one would typically expect. I am beyond satisfied with the level of service I receive and the best thing about it, they are consistently excellent as long as you get his PA (you will know when you visit whether or not you've got the qualified individual). Regardless, I highly recommend The Urology Group... but particularly Dr. Gubin on his excellent work.
