Dr. David Irving Stein, MD

He was fantastic. The only pain management specialist that actually listened to me, here in Milwaukee, and read my medical records. First pain management in this state that wasn't demeaning or belittling.

My wife has been addicted to opioids for many years due to numerous knee replacement surgeries. We finally got her off, and the majority of the doctors in the area related to pain management know this. But now she has found Dr. Stein, seeing him off of insurance to stay hidden, and he gladly subscribes opioids to her. It is a tragedy but come spring I am walking away after 30 years of marriage.

I went in for an initial visit, to discuss pain treatments for my back. I have had 9 spine surgeries, and I can't seem to find a doctor who cares to listen to me. They are all bogged down by restrictions of their employers ( most are from the big 2 hospitals/healthcare systems in our area). Dr Stien left me amazed. He talked with me, not to me, for almost 40 minutes. He thoroughly went through my 2 decade history of lumbar fusions, s1 to L1, as well as a cervical fusion. He then went on to explain the options I have, medicines available to me, and all of the latest restrictions, as well as the dangers of opiates (which I was NOT seeking). I really felt good after this 1st visit, and I will make a followup comment after seeing him for a few more appointments. Both he, and his wife/nurse were professional and courteous to me. Fingers crossed he can help!

You and your ignorant disrespectful c#$& of a wife should be shut down

Never did I think I had a problem because I was seeing a doctor my insurance approved. But 120 oxycodone 30mgs a month for 2 years was overkill. And you get your prescription to pick up before your drug test!!! So if your out and have none in your system your safe. Or you can stop and get fake pee and add to it if you sell them. They dont care as long as they can give you injections you dont need and charge your insurance and take your copays. I'm still recovering from all this happening and those injections I didnt need now cause pain. And guess what I will never take again in my life. It's not worth it guys.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Stein for over a year now, and I hope to be for many years to come! He has me on a great treatment plan that has helped me deal with my pain for my back. (I’ve had bad back pain for going on 20 years now) Dr Stein and his staff have been very kind and attentive to my personal needs. I definitely give him 5 stars. Jessica Heilman

I have been with Dr Stein for over a year,I actually thought he was a cut above the other pill pushers out there until I had to cancel an appointment due to a funeral. The day before my appointment I was told I had to pay a 50 dollar fine then when I went to my appointment I was cut back on my meds because they found pot in my urine. I was then told I had to go to take another urine test that cost me 120 out of pocket.Sience no insurance will cover Dr Stein Im out of pocket 150 plus the 50 dollar fine for going to my uncles funeral times two.I have been in pain management for ten years any doctor will give you one warning about something as minor as pot PLEASE THIS WAS A SHAKEDOWN!!!!!!!! To take advantage of someone while they are suffering over the loss of a loved one and to then charge me for a second visit FULL PRICE is heartless and I will go to another doctor one that takes Insurance unfortunately I just moved to Milwaukee at the time and he was recommended to me by my neighibor she just drove up to see him from Carolina they collected her money first then discharged her because she was no longer a full time resident. Prescribes pain pills and Suboxone, also deals with Millennium labs scam

It's is beyond my comprehension to hear that man is still practicing medicine. Who is watching this Doctor.

I honestly don't know how this place is still open. On your first visit they basically strip search you! Then make you sign a sheet your not working with the police or DEA. Doesn't listen to you or even look at you while writing you LARGE DOSES OF DRUGS! He only cares about $ not people.

$10,000.00 for temporary useless treatments

I have a crushed l45 and l5si lumbar disc with pain to left side. I don't take meds and Dr Stein does my lumbar epidurals. He is excellant technically and I don't take sedation for the injections. I've done the epidurals and feel better within three days and can walk and stand straight without use of the cane . I would highly recommend this doctor and his staff. They work very efficiently and get positive results for the patient. I don't need meds and can work full time with these injections. Stop and take control of your life and be a fighter for your own health. You are the only one who can change your daily activities by making the best choices for your care. This doctor is wonderful and can help you. Meds are not the answer for the long haul. Do yor exercises, watch your weight and take responsibility.

When I first went to see Dr Stien I thought he was not very nice. He never even once looked me in the eye as he was doing his diagnosis/check up and never looked away from my chart. I later met with Dr Lyman, Dr Stien's psychologist who specializes in chronic pain issues, and told him how I felt. The next appt I had with dr Stien was great. He took the time to speak to me and used eye contact the whole time! LONG STORY SHORT....I think Dr. Stien is a super doctor who understands the social issues behind chronic pain and narcotic pain meds. I have been on pain meds for many years and I decided. It was time to get off th meds or at least come down to a lower dose. Dr Stien has been very supportive with my needs treating me a a whole person. He is very talented and really knows pain treatment

Entirely my opinion, but I believe Dr. Stein and his wife FrankenStein are only out for your money and don't care about your health.

This. Guy is a fraud

I'm completely surprised with the negative feedback being given on Dr Stein. I think he's been great so far. I've been seeing him for months now and my first appointment was very encouraging. We talked for close to 20 minutes about my issues and our plan. He gave me multiple options for pain management. While our appointments after that have been quicker, he still makes sure to ask me how things are going and appears to be genuinely concerned with how I am doing. I've seen several pain management doctors previous to him and none have come close to listening the way he does. I do agree his wife is totally abrasive and has no place there. The other staff have all been great, very courteous and helpful. Don't let others reviews deter you from seeing this doctor. Each situation and individual is different. I would suspect that some people aren't getting what they are looking for when seeing the doctor, therefore having a bad experience. We all know there are plenty of people out there who abuse the system and are only looking for unwarranted medication. It's too bad those people have to ruin it for those who have legitimate pain issues. Maybe those that have had bad experiences here simply deserve it.

My ex boyfriend go's to this dr. I know he needs medication for his pain. He has a back injury, a very bad back injury. I know that he takes a lot of medication. I know sometimes it's out of control, but because of our breakup I wrote something that was not true about GLENN CAMPBELL. PLEASE FORGIVE ME. I should never said anything like this. Again, FORGIVE ME.IM SORRY, BUT I DO THINK THIS DR SHOULD TEST LEVELS!.

Excellent doctor. Very professional and listens to his patients. I highly recommend dr. stein
