Terribly rude and abrupt

Dr. McDonald is considered a heartless being who in my opinion is nothing but an overrated racist. My friend’s daughter has been in a coma for several weeks with no diagnosis or prognosis. Her family were waiting for a consult with this doctor for two days and when he arrived, sat at the nurses station and never even looked at my friend who was at the time sitting by her daughter’s room. The nurse asked about the results, he responded ok, walked passed the family and never said a word. I hope God has not granted this species any offsprings. They are not white, but Hispanics and the only reason I can see for this behavior is that he is nothing but a useless racist. God have mercy on him.

Dr McDonald is a caring consummate professional. He never missed a day of rounds while I was in the hospital & always addressed all issues clearly & skillfully. Our entire family hold him in the highest regard.MAH

My mother-in-law was recently a patient at Florida Hospital. This Dr. was called in to consult. He determined she had suffered a stroke on both sides of her brain. The family was nor informed by this Dr. as to the results, how severe the strokes were, nor were we told how the strokes were going to affect her.Never again will this Dr ever treat my mother-in-law, me, nor any member of this family. He needs to be reported to Medical Quality Assurance Board in Tallahhassee. I am in the process of doing just that..

After a couple appointments with Dr. McDonald I realized his bedside manner and lack of concern was not an isolated event. He treated me as if my past medical care and treatment were irrelevant. He requires me to carry my medical records back and forth to each appointment without ever actually reading them. Dr. McDonald's condescending attitude toward my treatment and my concerns were appalling and I would not recommend him.

Didn't really listen and acted as if I was lying about my condition and symptoms.. Sending me for tests but unsure whats wrong. Felt like all of it was about the all mighty dollar..

I was so disappointed in his apparent lack of concern for my husband's condition. He was aloof, sarcastic and we needed support and at least minimal appearance of concern for the patient.

If he can't see right away what is happening with you. He dismisses you with his smirk Saw him verbally assault a nurse at Halifax. Very bad bed side manner . Much better Doctors at that office.

Extremely professional and knowledgeable neurologist. He is kind and compassionate. Doesn't throw a bunch of pills and a smile. The staff is professional and courteous. Jamie is amazing. Would definitely recommend him.

Needs to work on his people skills. If you're in the business to help people and choose this profession, why then are you so impersonal towards your patients.

Dr. McDonald is a very thorough and analytical professional. I was impressed at the time he took to conduct nerve conduction testing and in reviewing my clinical history and MRI images that he had ordered, in addition to historical images and reports. I believe Dr. McDonald's strength is in making accurate and objective diagnoses after conducting a detailed scientific analysis. My gut is that he is an INFJ (personality type) for those of you out there more concerned with personality type than an accurate diagnosis : ) . A true professional.

Dr McDonald and staff were very interested and compasionate in caring for my mother he truly wanted her to improve and offered many suggestions and showed us examples personally how to do them i feel he truly cared for my mother and did everything he could to make her quality of life better

We went to Dr. McDonald after a stroke landed my 89 year old mother-in-law in the hospital and he saw here there. The only problem she was having two weeks later was pain in her arm, shoulder, and side, which was post shingles pain. When the dr. found out she had shingles, he jerked his hand from her & ran to wash his hands, even though she was well beyond the contagious stage. She had broken her arm three months prior, so he only prescribed an NSAID (we thought the prescription was for a nerve pain medication, as suggested by the home health care nurse) & had her go to an orthopedist. We weren't very impressed with him at that time. It took a two week wait to see the ortho. Her broken arm was completely healed but stiff. We called Dr. McDonald back to see if her would prescribe nerve pain medication. He wouldn't do anything...only referred us back to the ortho...who does not treat pain. Seems like a run-around, and we were very upset and not impressed with him at all by now. So she's still in excruciating pain weeks later, and he won't do anything about it. No medications she has ever taken have caused any negative side effects...he is a neurologist...post shingles pain is neuropathy. Why is he referring her to an ortho.

Dr McDonald and particularly his assistant Jamie have been very helpful and supportive as I navigate thru the waters of dealing with an aging parent in Florida, while I live in another state 1500 miles away. They answer my calls in a timely fashion, treat my father with respect, and help me with prescription questions in a professional manner.

The doctor is wonderful but the office staff is completly unorganized. Left three messages with the nurse for a call back and never received a call. Office staff did not send the referal paperwork to another specialist. Would not recommend this office because of their unorganized office staff.

Dr. McDonald has treated me for 11 years for my stroke. He is kind, considerate and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone needing neurological services.

dr. mc donaold saved my life after suffering a stroke--i have had and still do the higher regard for this doctor--nine years and still going- ie my daughter has since passed away as she was unable to receive care from a professional like dr m.

To get an appointment must leave message. May be called back in 24 hrs. Assistant clueless about follow-up. Have been waiting for a med. change for over 1 month. Have called numerous times and left messages. Call back in 48 hours from assistant if you are lucky. Asked for a predetermination on MBS coverage over 1 month ago. No response yet.
