I'd like to share a extremely positive experience I Had with Dr. Rivadeneira and his entire staff back in 2022. I had been dealing with a 3rd bout of Diverticulitis that landed me in the hospital for a week while away on a family vacation around the holidays. The ER Dr's told me I was lucky that I did not need emergency surgery but advised as soon as I get home to see a surgeon about having the bad part of my colon resected. I was referred by a family member who had a similar experience that had a positive outcome with Dr. R. My first visit I knew I was in the right hands. Further confidence built by my interactions with nurses in the hospital where he was going to do the surgery. They had nothing but great things to say about him. Dr. R was honest and upfront about the surgery and potential outcomes. I came through the surgery well with no bag and have been 100% since. I highly recommend Dr R. I recently had several visits with Dr. Rivadeneira due to hemorrhoids. Obviously this is an extremely sensitive area and very painful-- however, Dr. Rivadeneira's delicate care made me feel at ease at these appointments. He had to do a treatment called "banding" and as invasive as this is he made it far less painful than it could have been. He is very kind, professional and caring. His staff is top notch as well. I was always greeted with kindness and happy faces. He is truly amazing at what he does--his demeanor is calming and when you are dealing with such a delicate area it's so appreciated to have someone as compassionate and gentle as Dr. Rivadeneira.

Dr. Rivadeneira saved my life! Highly recommend him for anyone looking for a gastroenterologist. He's the best of the best. What I thought was just bad stomach pain turned out to be much worse. I had a terrible flare up and needed immediate surgery to remove a piece of my large intestine. If I waited any longer then when I did, there would have been a big chance of needing to remove the whole intestine, the possibility of wearing a bag permanently or even death. I am forever grateful for this man.

I hightly recommed Dr. Rivadeneira for anyone who has hemorrhoid issues. Appointments were easy to schedule. The wait time was never more than 10 minutes. His personality immediately put me at ease. He was informative and when he said the banding procedure was fast and more or less painless, he was being truthful. For most visits I was in and out of the office in less than 20 minutes.

I was referred to Dr. Rivadeneira with a Colon issue. He is very thorough in his visits. Extremely comfortable to speak with and offers a lot of knowledge and advice in regard to whatever issues you are having. The good Dr told me that my issue could take up to four to five additional visits before it is resolved. Well after just two visits he told me that I did not need to come anymore unless I had further issues. He could have just asked me to come two more times and taken extra money, but he didn't. The issue was resolved, and I was very happy with him. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I saw Dr. Rivadeneira for internal hemorrhoids. He recommended banding. It was a painless , 10 second procedure and has helped reduce all hemorrhoid issues that I was experiencing

What a wonderful surgeon. Dr. Rivadeneira not only diagnosed me correctly but performed excellently removal of a cancerous polyp. He then referred me to an excellent oncologist who has a great team to get me thru chemo and radiation. I feel that I’m in great care with all he has referred me to

If you need to have colorectal surgery, Dr. Rivadeneira is the doctor you want doing the surgery. He is professional courteous and personable. He informs you of the risks and rewards of the procedure. He also listens to you concerns and puts you at ease. His skill as a surgeon was outstanding. Huntington Hospital was a really nice hospital and his support staff was excellent. Thank you Dr. Rivadeneira for improving my quality of life!

When my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer, we were traumatized. We were referred to Dr Rivadeneira & from the moment we walked into his office, we knew we had found the right doctor for the job. He patiently answered all of our questions & gave a full description of the operation. We were reassured by his down to earth demeanor, backed up by his excellent skills. It felt like talking to a friend who happened to be doctor. He compassionately walked us through what could have been a terrifying experience. We thank God for sending him to us.

Dr. R is a good listener, who pays careful attention to detail. I developed a rectovaginal fistula that several other doctors wouldn't touch due to the rare site of sphincter muscle! No one wants to cut into that! He placed a seton drain for several months to strengthen the tissue before he fixed fistula. I am a success story because of Dr. R and his team. The care given to me at Northwell Health was impeccable. I drove 3 hours each way and hospital stay at Huntington Hospital was also a great experience. The Northwell system is like a well oiled machine. I can't say enough!

After a frightening diagnosis of Colon Cancer, I was blessed by being referred to Dr. David Rivadeneira and his awesome team. What can I say? I am a 79 year old woman, not knowing what to expect, and the minute I met Dr. D, I knew all would be well. Everything was explained in detail, and a doctor who was patient and kind, as were all his wonderful team and front office staff. From my family and I, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer by tumor discovery in Jan 2021. After some personal research and family council Dr. Rivadeneira's office/practice easily became our first choice. The very opening minute I met the team I new I was exactly where I needed to be. Every question was answered, every concern talked through, any detail handled with no stone unturned. It was more than a doctors visit, it was striking up a trusting relationship and I will always be truly grateful for it.

The care I received was absolutely the best. I had a very serious surgery, and I always felt that I was in the best hands, which I was. Dr. Rivadeneira and his associates made me feel like I was their only patient. I highly recommend this practice, Dr. Rivadeneira in particular, since he was the one I mainly dealt with. NP Shawnee Purdey from his office was also kind, caring, extremely knowledgeable. They always give the time and attention that you need.
