Dr. Deborah Englert

Dr Englert could not have cared less about what she was doing when I went in for a skin cancer body screening at Advanced Dermatology in Abingdon, MD. The exam room had me seated in regular office lighting, not on a table with bright exam light. I pointed out areas of concern and even with those she was done in less than 3 minutes. She even missed moles areas that other dermatologists biopsies in the past that had grown back and looked the same. Don’t trust your care to her. She was checked out and doesn’t care, and the setup of the exam room was awkward in a low seat having you stand up for the back of your legs to be checked. At the end, no recommendations for anything, suggestions for laser treatments for spider veins-she literally didn’t care. She needs to retire. (This was 2023.)

Good Dr! Dr. Englert, cares about people conditions & what they are going through! Suffered for years with full-body Eczema & now it is not an issue anymore. Easy to make appts. Very clean & nice.

Kind, compassionate, funny, and a cat lover. She makes me feel at ease and even jokes with me. I highly recommend this doctor.

My comment is pretty close to one of the earlier recent comments. I waited quite a while past my appointment time in the waiting room, only to be ushered into a room to wait another 15+ minutes. When she FINALLY arrived, she barely looked at me ... and I was there for a full checkup since I've had a squamous carcinoma removed there a few years earlier. I had a VERY large recent laceration on my calf which she never asked about because she never looked at it or noticed it until I brought it up AFTER her "examination!" Since they're higher priced anyway, and there's ALWAYS a long wait, I'm finished with them.

Well run office, appointments start on time; kind staff. Dr. Englert is compassionate, easy to talk to and very on-point with my treatments! Excellent.

Outrageous fees. Never again.

She is Awesome

I decided to find a dermatologist closer to my home. The office staff was very friendly, courteous and very prompt. I met with Dr. Englert for all of five minutes. I explained my 26 years of skin cancer and atypical mole issues. She examined me with the human eye no magnifying glasses. I was told I looked fine and no issues. In my 26 years of seem to dermatologist previously my exams have always been thorough and approximately 30 minutes . I doubt I'll return.

I decided to have a skin cancer screening. I'm 58 years old and spent alot of time in the sun in my youth. I sat in the waiting room 45 minutes past my appointment time. After waiting another 20 minutes in the exam room Dr. Englert finally came in. My exam lasted less than 1 minute. She did nothing but glance at my skin with the naked eye. Not once did she use a magnifier. I have never had a screening before but I expected at least 10 minutes of her time. Will never go back!

I recently went to Dr. Englert for a leg lesion, she never examined the area, was out of office in less than two minutes, but claimed it was a bug bite, gave me samples to try, called back less than a week later, the lesion is worse, redness almost up to my knee. I was seen the same day I called ,by a PA, but was told that Dr. Englert was in the office, and would look at it, if the PA thought she should see it. The PA couldn't figure out what it was, left the office 4 times, I assume to talk to Dr. Englert, who wouldn't look at it herself. I was told a keratosis, I questioned that because it was no longer a spot but my leg was inflamed, then told bug bite again, then the PA comes back and said I have a disease which is bad, and not curable. However, no one ever really examined the area, looked at it from a distance, also no biopsy. How can you tell someone they have an incurable disease without some type of biopsy, then gave me a medication that I found out I'm allergic to it. When they wrote out this script, I asked if any of the drugs I'm allergic to are in that medication, and was told "No, it wasn't. I got it filled ( they sent to pharmacy by email) After seeing the other name Batrim goes by, it has sulpha in it, I'm allergic to the medication, so I wasted money on medication also, plus Dr. Englert would not come in to see the leg herself , how can you diagnose a supposedly incurable problem from another room. I'm sure she was doing some cosmetic procedure that she could make money, instead of seeing a patient who really needed to see her. Does she have an idea how this affected me hearing such a thing, and not being positive about what was said by her PA, who was totally confused I would never go back to this office again. It's a money making cosmetic office, because they're always trying to sell this stuff, when you have a real medical issue that these cosmetic products can't help at all.

Buyer beware! Very high sales pitch to purchase their expensive products that provide little to no results and they offer no refund or credit and DO NOT stand behind the product if dissatisfied. I was told that I should purchase more product and and keep using it for about three more months at the cost of approximately $400.00 . I had to laugh when the "skin care specialist" told me that I should invest more dollars into a product that was clearly not going well with my skin type. Where is the common sense and makes one stop and think, she must be getting one big commission check!!! I will never return to that practice!

You'll be lucky if you get 5 minutes of their time. Then you will leave dumbfounded over what just happened. Every single one of these so called "practitioners" is the same way. Cold and disengaged. Oh, and they don't even return phone calls. What a Joke!

I went to N. Baltimore Dermatology based on recommendations from friends. I was so glad that I found this practise, the doctors and staff were very caring and organized. My appt was on time and not rushed. Now the entire family goes there at least once per year (get those skin checks). You can be seen my male or female providers if you have a preference. Making appointments is easy. There is also a Bel Air office.

Dr. Englert and her staff are a great example of how a medical practices should be run. I was checked in quickly, waited for under five minutes in a lovely waiting room, and was seen in under five minutes in a spotless examing suite. Dr. Englert knows her stuff and has a compassionate, unhurried bedside manner. What a thrill for me to have been recommended to this practice!

Great doc, will spend time if you have cash and want a cosmetic procedure. If you actually NEED a derm, she couldn't care less as she can't make much off you. Arrogant and shallow.

I have seen many doctors in my years but have never been this satisfied when leaving an office visit. Dr. Englert took her time with me and made sure I had all my questions answered. Her smile alone made me comforatable and relaxed. Her staff were pleasant and friendly. I felt welcome from the time I called to make an appointment till the time I left.

Dr Englert is the sweetest doctor I have had. Sshe took the time to make sure I understood what was going on with my skin. Tthe treatment she gave me was explained to me until she made sure I understood what it was I was to do. The staff was great and I got in for a visit quickly. I will never see anyone else!

fastest visit I've ever had anywhere

I was diagnosed with intertrigo on my leg... and because of her lack of bedside manner that's basically all I know. Because of this, I ended up unwittingly spreading it. All I knew after her short 3 mins consultation was the problem I had and the medication I needed to put on it. I didn't realize that I needed to keep the area aired out, so I put a bandaid on it to avoid having the medication on my clothes. To my surprise, after less than a week, the problem had tripled in size. Then my friend who is a biotechology major in school told me I shouldn't have done that... I really thought she would have made that clear, that I needed to keep it aired out, but she did nothing of the sort. Her bedside manner is non-existent and detrimental to the patient and I don't plan on going back to her again.
