Dr. Dennis Gibson Harris, MD

Dr. Harris is an excellent practitioner. He is especially skilled in doing procedures, and has multiple nurse practitioners, PAs and others who provide the bulk of follow up care. Of course in today’s modern medicine you don’t get to see him as much as you wish, but I have always been able to see him when I request it. I have known him for more than 25 years. Every NP I have had has been very well trained, caring, and responsive. They spend time with me, and are supportive when the going is full of fear and pain. Like all excellent pain practices they have a Pain Contract to protect you from abuse, and make sure you know the rules. There are times when they are extremely busy, and the wait times can be a bit long, but I consider that part of allowing for everyone to get good care when they need it. My NP Cetessa Mac is excellent, and much appreciated. She consults with Dr. Harris as often as needed and as part of their team process. The portal is a mixed blessing, but generally helps communication, and allows for more health information to be transferred. I readily recommend this practice to others, and cannot imagine how I would have made it without them. Be an active participant in your own team, educate yourself, use the Curable app, and speak up if something doesn’t seem right. There is help for dealing with pain!

After going to this doctors office for over 5 years in feb 2020 i got a call that i was discharged. The letter i got didnt even give an explanation why. In the time that i went there i only saw this dr maybe 3 times face to face. Seems like all they wanted to do was put needles in my spine and thats not happening. I already have enough nerve damage from spina bifida why would i wanna do more damage. So now im just left with no help from this dr. If you call in to reschedule an appt. You get treated like a criminal. You have to be there no matter if you have to crawl. But then his workers can stay home any day they want. If you can find a dr. Somewhere else i highly recommend you do.

We moved to Maryville the but still come here. We love everybody here!!!

The staff is very considerate about how you feel and understanding

This office is very clean, pretty and impressive. The staff is always friendly and helpful and Dr. Harris is great and genuinely cares about helping people. The care has been appropriate and they offer very advanced options. They always are trying to minimize pain medications and they try to improve function and quality of daily life. I'm glad I came to them.

Most patient and understanding provider I have ever encountered. Best staff as well as friendly staff. They have 2 procedure rooms for injections and clinical trials that could be beneficial to everyone. So glad I was referred to this office!

I don’t hide my name is Leon I was fortunate to be his nurse for about 3 yrs as an employer he is second to none As patient care he is second to none. He won’t chase the money and he discouraged opioid use unless no other alternative He is over loaded wth patients and won’t push u away a true humanitarian Fast foreword I am now forced retired wth multiple work stopping injuries He is now my physician and probably treats me even better now and that is saying a lot about a fine man. If you need pain relief go to him yes you may wait but when ur in wth him he devotes 100% to you As Doctor A plus Humanbeing second to none

Through nerve oblation, Dr. Harris gave me 2 years of improved pain control.

I recommend getting a second opinion before letting Dr. Harris do injections. He is willing to do anything to make a buck and will not hesitate to perform injections that will not work. Compare him to doctors in Kingsport, or Knoxville, before wasting your time and money.

Doesn't listen or consult your previous medical records to continue treatment. Requires you to see several of docs in their group even though you have other docs on your own. It's just to pad the pockets of the docs in their group. Aldo nurse practitioners can't make decisiins on their own and have to consult him for everything.
