Dr. Donald Ravasio, DO

Dr. Ravasio did two knee replacements on me when no one else would. They were done within six months of each other and everything went fine. My knees were really wrecked so it was a great relief. Dr. Ravasio has a great, friendly bedside manner and he is always precisely on time, which I appreciate because it is so rare among doctors. Some complain about the short amount of time he spends with patients, but as I said he is quite thorough and never leaves a question unanswered. I would rather have the promptness than lengthy sessions after a long wait. If you are desperate for help like I was after ten years of unremitting pain, I recommend a visit to Dr. Ravasio. He will fix you up!

I saw Dr Ravasio for knee/leg pain; resulted in two cortisone shots. It gave me my life back! If I need further treatment, I would only go to Dr. Ravasio.

Coming to Dr. Ravasio for emergency knee surgery after a freak, accidental fall on vacation (with a shredded patellar tendon and broken lower, displaced patella), my chance for full recovery was, at best, "iffy", considering I am a female over 60 with osteoarthritis. Both the surgical outcome and my recovery have exceeded my expectations. I could do just about everything after only 7 weeks post surgery, and am continuing to improve in physical therapy. Dr. Ravasio's post surgical scheduled appointments are not allotted a great deal of time, but any post-visit question one might have will be answered thoroughly and in a timely fashion by Dr. Ravasio and/or staff PA online.

Dr Ravasio provided a valuable diagnosis as well as thoughtful advice. His extensive education, considerable experience and empathetic demeanor were key to alleviating my anxiety over a possible hip replacement. Well done.

I will give him a high review. He did two knee replacements on me when no one else would. he is very compassionate and caring, however, I can't give canonsburg hospital even 1 star. the nurses are old bitties who don't want to do their job. They never give pain meds unless you ask for them, and they never tell you to ask for them in the first place. You always think your getting them and never get anything. They never check on you. I had a call button that never worked. I just had a knee replacement and no one ever came in. I had to go to the bathroom and had to get out of bed myself and never wanted to get back into bed. I sat right in the chair. Just beware of that hospital. But if you go to Ravasio, you will go to canonsburg. Caution::::: they don't care about you.

I HIGHLY advise against going to Dr. Ravasio's office. His physician's assistant William "Bill" Hall is awful. He is unprofessional and very rude. I question his knowledge of orthopedics as well. Dr. Ravasio seemed nice, however, his nursing staff (who you will deal with rather than Dr. Ravasio himself) is absolutely pathetic. I was an arthritic condition that is very painful and debilitating in my knees. "Billy" Hall convinced Dr. Ravasio to NOT sign off on a disability placard for my car. Now I have to walk to my vehicle a total of 2 miles a day and I limp like a cripple. This doctor's office has caused me so much pain, suffering, and shame in my life.

I went to him for a very painful knee injury after having gone to the ER. When he touched me I guessed I yelled and, instead of saying he was sorry for hurting me, told me he couldn't examine me because I was in pain. I told him to do what he had to, never mind my pain, I wanted a diagnosis and treatment plan, but he refused to examine me further and wrote me an MRI prescription. I came to him because I was in pain, and he refused to examine me because of my pain! When I asked him what the problem could be, he just shrugged his shoulders and said "I have no idea". He said it could take a week or more just to get an MRI. My wife asked if the office could call around to various MRI facilities and get us the earliest possible appointment and he said they won't do that. However, on the way out, the nice staff person did exactly that and got me in for an MRI that day. I changed to a different orthopedist and will never go back to Ravasio. I went there because it used to be the practice of Dr. Mutschler, who was excellent and caring, but he retired and I guess sold his practice to this guy. I strongly recommend staying away from Ravasio.

I have recommended Dr. Ravasio to my family and friends. He is the most compassionate doctor I have ever encountered. Spends enough time to explain the procedure and outlines the treatment and is friendly and so is his staff. I have complete faith in him.

Most compassionate and caring doctor I've ever dealt with. Performed a knee surgery on me after I had issues from a previous surgery by a world renowned surgeon who claimed nothing was wrong and ignored my complaints. Dr. Ravasio saw the problem within the first five minutes, did the surgery and I've been good ever since. He is the best hands down!!!!!

Dr. Ravasio did a total knee replacement on me in 2010. I got an infection and had a second operation on the same knee to remove a part that he never explained what he did in the second operation. The operation was so bad that I was on antibiotics for 6 moths! I can't bend my knee,thus causing back pain. I still suffer from pain. I would never recommend dr Ravasio to anyone! His attitude was always he is the king, and how dare I question him about anything! Folks if you are having knee problems DO NOT go near this man!

I suspect that Dr. Ravasio is a talent surgeibm surgeon; I suspect when he operates, he gets good results. He treats those patients well, but he does demand a lot of adoration. I also suspect that there are patients that he does not want to treat: If you have a chronic condition, if you're older, or if for some reason he doesn't feel you are worth his time, you can expect the subtle message that he would rather you would find someone else to care for you.

My husband and I have great confidence in the excellent care from Dr. Raviso . It is one of the reasons we travel to Canonsburg from Pittsburgh, just to get cortisone shots for our knees . If at any time we will need a knee replacement we will have complete confidence in his expert care. travel
