Yes, I will help others Don't use this Dr. Ehrler for back surgery. Read all the ratings about him. He is a Joke

I would not recommend this surgeon to my worst enemy. He rushed to complete a microdiscectomy and treated me like dirt when I suggested that it was unsuccessful. Recent CT shows he may have operated in the wrong disc. He made a huge point to reference my weight and the difficulties he had positioning me in my most vulnerable moments. He falsified chart notes saying I told him I felt “spectacular” which is a word I would NEVER use to describe these issues and pain I endure daily. I returned for additional help as the nerve pain and numbness NEVER subsided. Likely because he operated on my L3 instead of what he noted, the L4-L5 and L5-S1. All this surgery did was create more pain and suffering, and this doctors’ God complex doesn’t allow him to consider he wasn’t successful. I was berated for bringing a report of my ER CT scan because I couldn’t obtain the CD in time. I have this entire visit on recording - and I can assure you what the notes say do not match how it truly went. I was told it would be a 2 inch incision. Staples were NEVER mentioned. I was sent immediately home after the procedure in absolute agony. I without doubt should’ve been admitted. Upon showering, I was faced with EIGHTEEN STAPLES down my spine and a 6 1/2 inch incision. He left me with those eighteen staples for two entire weeks. I had discharge and sent pictures almost daily asking for help because I wasn’t healing correctly. I was shrugged off and told to mix peroxide and water to get rid of what appeared to be an infection and excessive drainage. It is clear this surgeon is money motivated and convinced me to allow a surgery while my child was 5 months old - and leave me to struggle to recover. This UNSUCCESSFUL surgery has caused far more pain and suffering than the original herniated discs, and the numbness was not changed at all. It appears this is because my vertebrae were miscounted by a surgeon I trusted. GET A SECOND OPINION. DO NOT trust what this arrogant doctor says.

Dr Erlher is a brilliant surgeon, very professional does a great job. Not a great personality bedside manner is awful but all in all the important thing is his great skill

Complete waste of time and money I’ve done enough research on my own from respective institutions such as the Mayo Clinic that contradict everything he just said. That my neck isn’t causing my issues. That guy was an Xxxxxxx Didn’t even look at my X-ray which shows more. The search continues. MRI clearly shows Stenosis due to bulged disc due to Degenerative Disease. Save you time and money and stay away

I agree with giving a partial star. Horrible befside manner. Told me I didn’t have spunal stenosis but it was a diagnosis on my therapy order. Told my sciatica was a leg problem not a back problem. Thank goodness I’m a nurse and know a very good ortho dr/ surgeon who can take over my case not affiliated with crystal clinic’s dr Ehrler.

Was told for a year and a half that my injury’s were caused by a tramatic fall 2 surgery’s later and after charging 1500$ for a letter to get it in writing, dr Erlher decides it was” mostly degenerative , avoid this business man! He will lie right to your face without hesitation,

Dr. Ehrler was recommended to me by another physician who he operated on. Explained all things well, let me choose what I wanted to do. Did not pressure me to do anything. After surgery my pain was gone. He is very nice, patient, and DID LISTEN TO ALL MY USUES. Gentle, calm.

Horrible and rushed during my first visit with him. His hand on the door the entire time and acted bothered that I was there in EXTREME pain I might add. I had missed work for weeks due to my back and barely could walk to get into the office. He totally blew me off. - Said yes... You need surgery. Arrogant and un-compassionate are a few words. I wouldn't take my pets to him. I called back to ask additional questions about surgery and was told he would not answer any until I scheduled surgery. Hello- I have questions ABOUT surgery. The nurse would not even take questions to him. I would run far far away from this man. I am a RN and have never seen this type of behavior in all of my years practicing.

I agree with all of the negative comments written here. I am preparing for another operation because i have more pain now than before. I would love to have a chance to give him a taste of half the pain he has caused me. I wish i had known about his reputation prior for, i would have ran away just as fast as i could. Don't get involved with this guy.

Dr to patient relationship is horrible. No bed side manner what so ever. Wish I would of done more research before allowing him to do back surgery on me

Worse doctor ever !

Wish I had found these reviews before I let this heartless man operate on me. It took crystal clinic almost 2 yrs before they found my problem. By that time it was almost too late. Will admit I am better after the surgery...however...he refuses to see me for my follow up care. I have crappy insurance that left me with an 800 unpaid amount. Haven't been able to work in last 5 months. I have been paying as much as I can afford each and every month. If I wasn't paying on an existing balance of 2 years of useless tests, and other visits I would be able to pay more. Each time you walk into the building you are billed twice. One for doctors and one separate bill for being in the building. They give new acct numbers to each visit. I get 10 different invoices in the mail each month. I am not doing well and really need help. He refuses until he gets every penny. This is a follow up from a major surgery. I am only 3 months out PLEASE TAKE THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS SERIOUSLY! I wish I did

Don't go near this man, all the bad reviews are absolutely true. I am 35 previously very active, with bad stenosis and herniated discs. A laminectomy was done and botched terribly. More than double the incision length, and looks like it was done by a drunkard. Managed to nearly paralyze my entire left side. I was told I would walk out of surgery, Had to re learn to walk in a walker for a month after surgery, still working on it 4 months post op. Was told I would be back to work in 1 month 2 tops, I may not be able to return to work ever. I won't go into his manners and attentiveness, as the other reviews are 100% dead on. He is not just a bad surgeon, but a bad human being. forsee a very low quality of life after surgery from him

Very intelligent. Excellent bedside manner. Listened well. My surgery went very well, highly recommend.

He really needs help scheduling patients. Waited five hours for surgery, and first follow up was over an hour wait time. Second, he didn't show up for my appointment. I get it, that thing happen, but three times??

In 2008, I was sent to the ER at Akron General when it was discovered that what doctors initially thought was a pinched nerve was actually an infection in my cervical spine. Dr. Erhler came to the hospital (although I had never been treated by him) and reviewed the MRI & CAT Scan. I was set up for a 3-level spinal corpectomy and fusion the next day. Because of this surgery, I am still alive and I did not become paralyzed. The only side effect I have experienced from this surgery is that my neck tends to feel tight before changes in atmospheric pressure like thunderstorms. Although he is not as personable as a family practitioner, I would trust no other doctor if my life was on the line due to spinal instability.

My husband had back surgery at St thomas and Dr. Ehrler didnt even have the common courtesy to talk to me after the surgery. The receptionist had to tell me everything was fine.

This doctor is arrogant and obnoxious. After my back surgery he ignored significant drainage calling it fat necrosis. 2 weeks later after continuous pain and drainage I ended up with a staph infection MRSA and a 2nd surgery. He sent his residents in to see me in the hospital but never showed up himself. Stay away from this guy at all cost unless you are into pain.

While the front desk people did cause some delay, the doctor was always prompt but gave me plenty of time to answer my many questions. I was in so much pain and had lost most of the muscle in my arm before surgery. I woke up completely pain free. I am still working on rebuilding my muscles, but that is coming along.
