Dr. Eddie Louis Smith, MD

DR. Smith and his staff is very unprofessional. The very minute you walk in you are greeted by his assistant "Sherry" who is very unprofessional in person and on the phone. She answers questions you want relayed to Dr. Smith for him as if she has a PHD, and her language is worse than a sailor and will lie to cover up a misinformation she gave reserved for the Doctor and the other staff is the same way.

He pays attention. He always listens. He always explains. He is never in a rush. Awfully glad he is my doctor.

I was Appointed this group by my insurance company. I have NEVER had such a impossible time getting my daughter in for a sick visit. I have been calling since Monday trying to get a same day appt and keep getting told they are booked. Given all my daughters symptoms the earliest they can give me is Friday. I have worked in the medical field over 25 years and this just blows my mind. Even with a booked schedule as the office says, there should be space to allow for emergencies and sick appointments. Being as the are a family medical practice you would think they would be accommodating to these type of situations.

We love Doctor Eddie Smith. We have followed him all around Virginia. My son is mildly mentally challenged and he was my son's first doctor after he grew too old for the pediatrician. When he left Portsmouth Family Practice it was hard for my son with the other doctors who were strangers to him. When I saw in the paper he had his practice in Carrolton I immediately called my son's insurance to change his primary care doctor and got an appointment with Dr. Smith. We live in Portsmouth and it is quite a little drive for us but we could not be happier being back with Dr. Smith. Don't retire ever!!
