I had C5 to C7 ACDF surgery with Dr. Scheid. I am beyond thrilled that I chose to go with him as my nuerosurgeon for this frightening ordeal after a massive car accident. He thoroughly answered all my questions patiently and address all my concerns. Even though I was still petrified to have this surgery. I knew I was safe in his hands. The end result was being back to work and driving in 2 weeks and he told me I was already fusing. I am one month postsurgery and happy to say that this weekend I was able to sing at a my professional level. I still need a few more weeks to fully vocally heal but Dr. Scheid knew the importance of taking care of my vocal chords as he went into my throat to get to my spine. He kept his word and I got back to the singing part of my music career. By the 2nd week after surgery I was able to play piano like I did before my accident. With dexterity and no pain. I saw Dr. Scheid at the behest of two of my closest friends, who had each succumbed to back pain and had seen Dr. Scheid for care. After witnessing first hand their marked improvement, I reached out to him when my own spine inevitably failed me. I was diagnosed with a herniation of lumbar disc and underwent a successful L5 to S1 micro-discectomy. Dr. Scheid was remarkable in his quick diagnosis, obvious care and concern, and clear skill.

I had seen 2 neurosurgeons and 2 ortho spine surgeons before seeing Dr. Scheid for a 5th opinion. I couldn't believe that no one could figure out what ws wrong with me. They all said that my MRI looked normal, but I knew that couldnt be because of the severe back pain I had. Dr. Scheid looked me over and ordered some more tests and found a pars fracture in my L4 which had been missed by everyone else. We are trying some nonsurgical treatments first but if it fails, Dr. Scheid will do surgery to fix the problem. It is nice to see a doctor that is thorough and doesnt make you feel like you are crazy or the pain is all in your head.

Dr Scheid saved my mother’s life with emergency brain surgery for a brain hemorrhage. He was wonderful. She had a long hospital stay but made an excellent recovery.

I had severe back pain for several months. Very pleased with his diagnosis of muscle strain given that I had gotten an opinion from another surgeon that said I needed surgery. I ended up going for physical therapy based on Dr. Scheid’s opinion and thankfully avoided having surgery.

I had severe neck pain from a herniated disc. I was referred to Dr. Scheid as a second opinion. I had already been told that I needed surgery right away. He looked me over and went over everything. He recommended that I try some injections first before having the operation. The injections worked! I credit him for saving me from needing to have a spine operation.

Dr. Scheid fixed a spinal fracture in my low back. I was in horrible pain but he was able to seal the fracture in a minimal procedure. It took about an hour. I couldn’t believe the pain relief that I experienced right away. I truly appreciated how responsive he was— he got me in to be seen right away and scheduled for the repair shortly thereafter. His office staff is very professional.
