Dr. Edward W. Szalapski, MD

Dr. Szalapski replaced my knee in January. Dr. Szalapski, the TCO staff and Excel Program made the experience so easy. I knew what to expect with regard to the surgery, the pain and the recovery. I'll be back as soon as I can to do my other knee with Dr. Szalapski. I would recommend Dr. Szalapski for any one who needs orthopedic care.

Dr. Szalapski performed my full knee replacement. He was meticulous, professional, and competent, with a sense of humor. The follow up was thorough and he and his team answered all questions and guided me through next steps.

I saw this "Doctor" twice. Both were super rushed, if he spent 5 minutes in the room I would be surprised. I came to see both hands and shoulders. He did a quick test of one shoulder and sent them in to do a cortisone shot. I had to track him down later to make sure he knew I primarily came my hands/wrists. He placed an order for one hand even though I mentioned I had sever problems with both. The second appointment he told me to simply wear a brace for 3 months and hope it gets better. I then went and saw a general neurologist at another clinic for my back. She put in an ordered for rehab and was quite concerned with his "solution" of just wearing a brace for 3 months without movement/exercise. After that I saw another Hand specialist outside of TCO (Allina). He actually spent about 30 minutes in the room with me. Listed about my left hand. Found out I had a torn ligament and my bones were no longer in their correct place. I'll never go to TCO again.

Dr. Szalapski and his staff were wonderful for my knee replacement surgery. I have had very little pain and a relatively short recovery time. Definately would recommend him to others.

Dr. Szalapski performed hip replacement surgery on both of my 93 year old husband’s hips!!! He was easy to get an appointment with, straight forward, understandable and highly experienced. He and his team know what they’re doing and work efficiently. My husband has heeled very well while Doc kept a close eye on him. We would recommend him to anyone!!!

I had rotator cuff repair surgery in October. I’ve had excellent results and continue to regain strength with exercises. Dr Szalapski and his team are great. I would highly recommend him.

I just had my second knee surgery by Dr. Szalapski. It has been a great experience with him and his staff (Jessica??) Dr. S is so knowledgeable, experienced and takes pride in no infections. He reacts immediately to questions/concerns. I trust him and if I had another knee…. I would do it all over again if needed.??

Total knee replacement summer 2021. Great results - full life back - gardening, gym, bike, walking - after 10 weeks. Support team very confident, capable and helpful.

Dr. Szalapski performed a Reverse Shoulder Replacement. He’s a straight shooter and tells it like it is. No surprises and all went as planned. Happy with surgery and would go back for other orthopedic needs. Highly recommend him!

I wouldn't trust him at all. His standards of care are shockingly low, if they even exist at all. He has no idea what he's doing.

Dr Szalapski is kind, personable and thorough with his explanations. When I saw him one month ago for a broken ankle, I was somewhat apprehensive before the visit, but was reassured and no longer anxious after he discussed the course of healing and answered my questions. He is very prompt and reassuring and once again, at my appointment this week I was grateful for his expertise. I would absolutely recommend him to others!

Dr. Edward Szalapski has been my orthopedic physician for over 12 years. My mother referred him to me after multiple, successful ortho surgeries. I had successful bi-lateral, knee replacement surgery, over twelve years ago. No more pain, and I have my mobility back. I got my life back! I am now recovering from left, reverse total shoulder replacement. After three months of recuperation and physical therapy, my shoulder pain is gone, my mobility is better now than it has been in the last ten years. Dr. Szalapski is a surgeon, with exceptional skill, compassion, patience and attentiveness. I am always greeted with warmth and encouragement, plus a wonderful, positive energy. I was evaluated by Dr. Szalapski via telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. He did a thorough history and evaluation (via telemed!) and was able to diagnosis my condition and give me a plan for home PT. Very helpful!

I saw this doctor for knee pain that came on suddenly a couple months ago. Szalapski continually interrupted me when I tried to tell him my symptoms and voice my concerns. When I told him I'm worried that I suddenly can't sit cross-legged anymore and I'm concerned about my mobility becoming limited as I age, he said, "If that is your only problem, you have a pretty good life." He basically slipped out of the room, leaving me without any sort of closure, although I was practically the only patient in the whole facility due to the coronavirus. I told a nurse friend about my experience and she said I should file a report against him with TC Orthopedics.

Dr Slapski is an excellent Doctor and Surgeon. He has done Total Knee Replacement on both of my knees. I could not be happier with the results. He and his staff ar very thorough, courteous & professional. Dr Slapski explains what is going on with the joint, how he is going to “fix” the problem & the outcome of that “fix” in words that a layman (patient) can understand. I would highly recommend Dr Slapski to any of my friends or family. To me and my wife he is the BEST!!!

Dr Slapski is an amazing Doctor and an excellent Orthopedic surgeon. He has replaced both my knees with Total Knee Replacements. I could not be happier with his work or the results. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering any kind of knee surgery.

Dr Szalapski did a absolute great job on my total hip replacement. And all follow up appointments. I would rate him highly.

The first 4 weeks wasn’t bad kept up religiously doing all the exercises that I was given when I was released from hospital, today I started physical therapy, more exercises for better motion. Scare looks great Not much pain Tylenol only Learned to do a lot with my left hand Tying my shoes, pulling up Pants, curling hair was a real challenge, but I It is behind me and I Thank Dr. Szalapski for his good Surgical Skills. I had my total knee replacement done one year ago and found that Dr. E Szalapski was an excellent doctor/surgeon. I am pain free. I am able to move my knee as it was years ago. Dr Szalapski is an excellent, caring doctor with strict aftercare. I would recommend him to all my friends and family.
