Dr. Eftichia Kontopoulos is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Fetal Surgeon. Graduated Cum Laude from Semmelweis University School of Medicine. Subsequently, she conducted medical research at Harvard University. She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and her Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson UMDNJ.Dr. Kontopoulos has extensive experience in fetal ultrasound, prenatal diagnostic techniques and fetal surgery. She is a pioneer in the field of Fetal Therapy- Fetal Surgery. She described the first case of a fetoscopic removal of an oral teratoma, the first fetal bronchoscopy and the taxonomy classification of twin gestations.Dr. Kontopoulos, a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, has always enjoyed teaching and has previously served as Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship director. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals and a
