Dr. Elizabeth Kaback, MD

Dr Kaback saved my life. I had passed my cardiac stress test but she recognized there was an error in it. She immediately sent me to the cath lab for an angiogram. My LAD was nearly 100% blocked. Four stents were placed. I think I would not have lived another 24 hours if she had not stepped in. She's an excellent doctor and very courageous. I will always be grateful to her.

I have been a patient of Dr Kabak and she is just great. She gives you the straight scoop and listens but wants you to make the changes that need to be made. Have recommended her to several friends and will continue.

Dr. Kaback has been working with me for about 5 yrs for a cardio condition identified after a stroke. She is very straight forward as are many people form the east coast and I appreciate that. She has been very proactive in treating my heart condition as well as continued work in finding the needle in the haystack that caused the stroke. I credit her for being a big part of my being alive today

I don’t understand why this doctor is still treating patients, as she comes across to hate handing to do so. She is chronically late, arrogant, condescending, doesn’t communicate well in between visits, intimidating, shows no compassion or care, and doesn’t make a patient feel confident in her assessments since she doesn’t allow for questions. She should work with machines and not humans. Horrible experiences with her, wasting time and money.

I came across her business card after cleaning out my junk drawer. It made me angry just seeing her name and reliving the horrible experience all over again. I took my father here a few years back. What an absolute waste of time! This Dr. has no business dealing with patients. If she learned some patience, maybe she could deal with them. Like everyone says, she has no compassion, knows it all and treats you like your a 5th grader. I have been a paramedic in San Diego County for 26+ years. I have come across all types of doctors. I remember the really good ones and the terrible ones. Sad to see she is still treating patients. Go elsewhere, there are plenty of great doctors in this county. Maybe she should go to Mexico and practice there?

Dr. Elizabeth Kaback is not the doctor you want to see unless you want to feel horrible about yourself, belittled, yelled at and starred down as if you have no idea what you are talking about when you try to discuss your concerns. I wish I didn't even have to give her one start to write this review. I just want to encourage people to seek treatment from other doctors. There are plenty at Scripps that will consider your feelings. Just not HER.

I have to agree with the negative comments about Dr. Kabeck. I tell people she flunked bedside manner class; HOWEVER, she is the THIRD doctor I saw to bring my blood pressure down, and she was the one who was successful. Incredible relief! Enough said.

She saw me in a La Jolla Cardiac Hospital Unit for evaluation of potential heart problems. Terrible first impression; argumentative, condescending, and contradictory of what other doctors had told me. Ordered extensive tests and did not review any results or findings with me nor have her assistant or assistant physicians contact me. I complained at discharge that this was very unprofessional and as I was leaving one of her assistant hurried up to apologize and give me a 25 word overview of "everything is ok".

She's blunt.unfriendly, been with her for two years---done. Good by to an assxxxx

I saw Dr. Kaback a few years ago & was stunned at how thorough, caring & professional she is. She is extremely knowledgeable & informed about nutrition & supplements (think Dr. Andrew Weil). I have never felt so cared for by a physician. Rather than pushing more & more pills as all other docs do she takes the time to listen & prescribe healthy alternatives in addition to the usual medical tests & procedures.

I agree with all the negative posts about Dr. Kaback. She is rude, she doesn't listen, she treats you like you know nothing about your own health and she actually makes you cry. I left so deflated. I tried giving her several chances but this was my last. I don't usually post reviews that could mess with someones livelihood but she needs to learn compassion for her patients or move on. This last visit I decided I would mirror whatever her mood was. It was horrible. I gave her a taste of her own medicine (no pun intended). If you are looking for a good cardiologist go see Dr. Ahern.

She only cares that you don't eat anything but fresh vegetables. Changed all my eating habits to try and do what she says. I was told I was lying. She is mean and "knows everything". She is a good doctor but expect to leave her appointment feeling depressed.

I am not sure how a doctor can give an accurate diagnosis without listening. Her staff was quite rude, but given they have to work with Dr. Kaback I can kind of understand that. Dr Kaback will push her vegetarian beliefs on you like someone at PETA throwing red paint on a person wearing fur, its not subtle. She treats people like they are little mentally challenged children. I went and saw another doctor, and turns out she was incorrect and was just trying to perform a CYA.

Tremendously caring and kind MD who really wants the best for you. Of course she emphasizes diet--she is right--only real cure for heart stuff these days is vegetarian/vegan. These wimpish Californians mistake a blunt New York gal for being rude. We love her and value her lets get you better if I have to nag you approach. I want a character for a healer, and a smart one at that. Many of the men there are soft, polite and.......NOT AS SMART as Dr. K.

Unfortunely, this dr. raises my blood pressure every time I meet with her. Whether she knows it or not, she is very demeaning and rolls her eyes when you try to ask questions or explain something. Very rude lady!

The two positive comments must be her and her friends. All the other comments are 1000% accurate. 1.) Dr. Kaback was extremely uncaring and rude. True. 2.) She does not want to listen, she only wants to talk about why you need to be a vegetarian. SO TURE NOT EVEN FUNNY. I would list the rest, but it would take to long. I went to her for a couple of years. Good at first and then if you do not do want she wants she turns on you. Even if you get a second opinion. I had the same problem with CYA. She would tell me one thing and the next visit turn what she said around trying to make me fell stupid for bring it up. She really needs help herself. I quit going to her over 8 months ago. Best thing I ever did. No morals or ethics here. Be sure to always to take someone with when seeing this doctor since there is a lot of I never said that or this. My stress is much better now days and my progress is going great. Scripps it only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch.

Dr. Kaback was extremely uncaring and rude. I gave her three chances- not going back. Every time I asked a question about my health or treatment plan she jumped down my throat and made me feel stupid. Terrible bed side manner. Took only 1 blood pressure reading on my FIRST visit (I'm there for high blood pressure)! Driving into the parking lot alone made my blood pressure go up. And this is is supposed to be a holistic health facility??! Please.
