I’ve been a patient for over 15 years. Dr Heinrich replaced my left hip 15 years ago and never had problems. 5 years later I developed an allergy to the metal components so they had to be replaced. I’ve never had any issues with my hip otherwise. My left knee was replaced January 2023 and the recovery is long but I have zero problems. Great staff as well

Dr Heinrich is truly amazing. Our family has been to him fir hip replacements, knees, torn miniscus. There is no one else like him. We've healed quickly with regaining full range of motion. !! He is personable and excellent.

Full left hip replacement left me with a 1.5 *inch* length discrepancy which was then ignored and brushed off. I’m 5 feet tall 114lbs. Horrific pain and full body spasms for weeks after surgery, kept trying to tell his staff there was a problem, was treated like I was the problem. His nurse Kim was condescending and couldn’t care less. I was told I’d get no measurements or X-rays after the surgery because I’d “just obsess over the number”. It was all I could do to get her to talk to me AT ALL at my 2week post op appt! No questions asked and no X-rays or measurements means nothing gets put into writing in the patents file. It’s all about protecting the surgeon. The first person to actually look at me was the X-ray tech at my 6 week post appt. By then I’d seen two other surgeons (and three lawyers) who were shocked at my experience with Heinrich and his staff. Comprehensive review on Yelp with photos. All three lawyers told me I definitely could have sued in any state other than Texas. This doctor should retire.

This is my first meniscus knee repair with Dr. Heinrich. It was my right knee, what I call my "good" knee. And I wanted to keep it that way so I went to Dr. Heinrich based on a friend's referral. I had a great experience. I know the difference between a great knee repair and a bummer knee repair. If I had done my left meniscus knee repair from 2 years ago with Dr. Heinrich, I would not have a "bum" knee on my left side. Because of great results with Dr. Heinrich, my right knee is still the good one. Sincerely, Sharon

I have already had to have one revision surgery from how badly he messed up my first hip surgery and I am scheduled for another. Knowing what I do now I do not understand how a doctor claiming to be a hip specialist could have missed so much and preformed such a terrible surgery. When I wanted to get another opinion he made me believe that he was the best person to see in Austin and if he couldn't see a problem no one else could. He was wrong. PLEASE seek a second opinion if you are considering following his medical advice.

Dr Heinrich is a meticulous, brilliant surgeon who designed the artificial knee to allow many degrees of freedom to insure full range of motion for the patient. His minimally invasive techniques promote rapid recovery for both total hip and knee. He also designed the PT protocol to insure quick, thorough recovery. Furthermore, he designed his surgical procedure to minimize risk of infection and hematoma. In the office he acts like he has all the time in the world to address the patients’ questions. He’s the best!!

Just had L total hip replacement. Excellent experience, great surgical outcome and great post op care by Dr. Heinrich and his staff!

Dr Matthew Heinrich revised (replaced) my right knee replacement after I broke it loose in a hop from my car. I had both knees replaced in 1999, and both were working great until damaged the right one. I asked my nursing friends who's the best knee surgeon in Austin, and across the board, they said Dr Heinrich is who you want to replace that replacement! I can't say enough about the quality of his practice and his skills as a surgeon. My new knee feels more like me than the other ever did - works great without pain and without babying it. I have sent several friends and family members to see Dr Heinrich for both knee and hip diagnoses, and all of them agree he's amazing.

I have delayed this because I still have some pain in the right hip, but I have not been able to positively identify whether it is from the spinal pain that I have been treating with oral medication, cortisone shots, and ablation, but it seems to me that is more spine related. Dr. Heinrich replaced my left knee about 6 years ago withexcellant results so I would I would rate this surgery the maximum 4 stars.

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner. Before seeing Dr. Heinrich I had never had a surgery. I did my homework and found he had a stellar background and was respected by other physicians. In the nursing world that is our gold standard. I have significant osteoarthritis. He replaced my R hip 3 yesrs ago and it is better than ever. I also have bad knees. He has followed them for the last few years and provided excellent conservative treatment. The time came this spring for them to be replaced. They were replaced outpatient with his new MUVE multidisiplinary team approach to care. It is amazing as is the facility where I had my knees replaced. Everyone who works with doctor Heinrich is knowledgeable and responsive. Dr. Heirich is caring and has a wonderful bedside manner. So between being great at his specialty and being a nice guy you can't go wrong.

Very excellent care on all levels. After four decades of knee pain and dysfunction, Dr. Heinrich replaced the knee and directed the recovery process to a whole new, working joint. Thanks

Can’t say enough good stuff about Dr Heinrich!

I had hip surgery with Dr. Heinrich. The outcome was good. However, I literally have only seen him once for about 30 minutes max. I was released with the hospital without a visit from him or even knowing what he ended up doing to me. Was it a successful surgery? Anything I should know? And on the post op visits, you get passed to his non-emotive and disinterested staff. And, yes, expect to wait for about 30 minutes before you are seen. If I were to have this surgery again, would I select Dr. Heinrich? While it was a success, I don't think I would. I want to know that my doctor is there or me and a partner in my healing.

Dr. Heinrich changed my life with bilateral hip replacements. My hips were malformed at birth due to bilateral dysplasia and had deteriorated to bone-on-bone excruciating pain. I broke down in tears when Dr. Heinrich told me he could help me after years of pain and so many doctors told me it was hopeless. He truly was a bright shining light. I have recommended him and will always share his name to those that need help for any kind of hip pain.
