Dr. Fares S Hakim, MD

Dr Fares is not a reliable doctor, he perforated my colons during a colonoscopy and he did not have a courage to tell me he did so. I almost got killed. I underwent a major surgery for colon repair. I would not let any of my friends and family get any procedure done by him.

Kind, caring, compassionate, listened to my concerns, answered my questions, I asked many questions and some questions more than once and he never rushed me or was frustrated. I truly felt important as a person and patient. Highly recommend him.

Even though he knows I’m a nurse he takes the time to talk about lab results and what comes next

Procedures were easy, thorough - recovery uneventful. Of course the prep for a colonoscopy is always unpleasant, but it is effective.

I have had an abdominal pain for 6 years and the only diagnosis the doctor was IBS. However, the pain is localized to the upper right quad under my rib cage and when I asked why the pain was only in one location I was told "I do not know" and he was out the door.

A friend at work recommended him, he had treated her grandma in the past. I have been suffering from ulcer that caused several Complications in the past. Long story short, he got under control and got other specialists involve to avoid further complications. He looks at the big picture and truly care for your well being if you know what I mean. Most Doctor I had seen in the past only focus on third area of expertise but DR Hakim focused on my over all health and well being. What a blessing to have a doctor like him in a small town like Pensacola.

Wonderful Doctor! I have seen him twice this year and I wish every doctor will take the time to actually listen to your needs like Dr. hakim does!! He then explains every step of the treatment/ meds etc... Absolutely wonderful.

I found Dr Hakim by accident but I am very glad I did! He treated my 7 years long symptoms in few weeks. He knows his stuff very well, I am forever thankful to him.

Great Doctor. he made sure I understand the process, he really exceeded my expectations. I was very nervous at first but his calmness and great bed side manner put me at ease.

Really surprised by the previous comments written by Mr & Mrs.P!! Because I have been seeing Dr.Hakim for the last 12 years! He diagnosed my complicated GI problem and have been my doctor ever since. He also treated several family members and friends over the years and they all rave about his professionalism and knowledge! His sense of urgency is rare to find even at his office staff! Surprised about the previous comment because he is very serious. it is hard to crack a smile out of him, but for sure I get the best attention and care everytime.

Not very knowledgeable about my GI issues. Couldn't really answer my seemingly basic questions.

Funny guy, almost jokes too much, which becomes tiresome when you want him to get to the point. At least I didn't almost die like the other guy. My procedure was very minor, for an intern I guess he's ok. The Dr. he works for seemed great, I would recommend the office just make sure you see the real gastroenterologist though, I believe Dr. Hakim practices something else and just fills in in this field when allowed.

Dr Hakim is very caring and shows significant ability to explain in layman terms any concerns or details about GI disorders especially the complicated liver diseases

Dr.Hakim have been been treating my mom for over a year now! She can finally eat almost everything she likes which wasn't possible before she stated seeing Dr.Hakim! I can't say enough about him and his character! He is great all around!

Did not wash hands or use gloves! Surprisingly unclean. Apauled by sense of humor when asked about it. No wait time though.

I was referred to Dr Hakim due to rectal bleeding. It turns out that I had a very large internal hemrhroid that was causing the bleeding. I did ask the doctor to check for polyps in my colon. He did find 5 in colon and excised them,but then he decided to laser burn small polyps from sll through my intestinal wall. In burning off the smaller ones this caused a preforation in the two or three areas where he excised those polyps which were unesessary causing blood,fluids, and other toxins to seep into my whole abdomen.I was in severre pain, and had to be rushed to emergency surgery. The surgeon found my colon collapsed. He had to remove a large portion of intestine and resect the intestine back to my colon. Also my normal appendix had to be removed.I almost died from Dr. Hakim perorating throigh my intestine. It was a miracle I did not die from serious infection. I would not reccommend this doctor to anyone.

His bedside manner is very cold. He seems annoyed at questions and not willing to explain diagnosis. Not recommended.
