Dr. Francisco Oliveira Nascimento, MD

When I felt that the doctor may have been over medicating my husband on several blood pressure pills, I called his office for two days trying to get help. My calls were taken by the office, promises of call backs were made, but I never received a call back. This strong energetic man lost all his strength, kept falling asleep, and still no help from the doctor. I called the ambulance, he was taken to the hospital, where he passed away in a few hours. I will never know if some advice from this doctor would have made a difference, but my desperate calls for help were ignored.

My husband was seen by Dr Nascimento in Bethesda hospital. He is not his doctor, he does not take our insurance and has nothing to do with my husband's care other than to explain what was going on with him and who would be doing the surgery. His explaination, time spent and bed side maner couldn't have been any more above excellence! The wife of a sick man.

This doctor is very pleasant but I had great difficulty in understanding him! I did not stay with the practice for long enough to get used to him, or to find out how good a doctor he is, although he has a high rating elsewhere! His staff are the worst of the worst and for this reason, I shall not return to the practice. I was badly neglected over an extremely urgent condition and I'm not even sure if Dr. Nascimento was even aware of what was going on. Not going to take any chances in future - there are plenty of good cardiologists in the area - I'm out of there!
