Dr. Gail Schewitz, MD

Didn’t like her. First doctor I didn’t like at this practice.

Unprofessional, Judge mental, Obnoxious, She raised her voice with me as the parent and made my child cry hysterically in the car. Because of her, I will be looking into a new practice. It is unfortunate that Tenafly pediatrics merged with metropolitan pediatrics. I had gone to Tenafly pediatrics since I myself was a child, and had my children both see a wonderful pediatrician, who is no longer there. This was our 1st interaction with Dr.Schewitz, and our very last.

After bringing my autistic child to Metrop. Ped. since she was 5 yrs. old, Dr. Schewitz unceremoniously told me I couldn’t bring her back because she was too old. I understand that she was around 20 at the time but asked for a referral to a primary doctor. Absolutely no, period, end of story, no referral from her. After so many years of caring doctors at Metrop. Ped., I was shocked and hurt that she could not even give me one doctor’s name and quickly hung up on me. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Shewitch!
