This summer I decided to face the numbness/tingling/burning in my hands after five years of denial. I am grateful my journey led me to consult with Dr. Luther. He and his staff met me with compassion and competence, taking time to answer my questions and educate me about endoscopic carpal tunnel release. Dr. Luther is that rare mix of a brilliant surgeon and a kind, caring man. After surgeries on both wrists, a month apart, I am free of the troubling symptoms and am gaining strength and mobility in my hands. My souvenirs are two tiny scars. I can recommend Dr. Luther without reservation.

Couldn't be happier. Was dealing with severe carpal tunnel syndrome for years... two months after first meeting Dr. Luther, I've had a surgery performed on both hands, and I'm 90% healed already. Had a pretty wide range of movement just days after each surgery. His bedside manner is fantastic, and his entire staff was wonderful. He's a Patriots fan, but nobody's perfect.

For years I had pain and suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome that was progressively getting worse. I contacted WakeMed and they put me in touch with Dr. Luther. This guy is INCREDIBLE. From the very first meeting he listened attentively, remembered everything I said and charted a course for me to finally get the help I needed. His STAFF was the BEST as well. Dr. Luther guided me through every step of testing, diagnosis, my options and his recommendations. At no point did I ever feel like I was just another notch on his belt like so many Doctors today make people feel. He's VERY PERSONABLE, PROFESSIONAL and INTELLIGENT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM to ANYONE that needs an Ortho.

Dr Luther and his staff are phenomenal! I had a fractured wrist and he made it like new again. I followed his instructions and now have full use of my wrist. Even the scar from my surgery is minimal. Definitely an excellent surgeon! He always took time with me on my visits and answered all my questions. Would refer him to anyone needing an ortho consult or surgery.

Dr. Luther has EXCELLENT bedside manners who really cares about his patients care. He takes the time during any visit to explain what is going on and what to expect every step of the way. I am SO thankful that a friend referred him to me because my surgery was a total success!

2020 was quite a year for all of us and especially difficult for my 16 year old daughter. She is a very competitive athlete and was sidelined with a dislocated wrist due to her Ulna having grown too long. Dr. Luther performed a very scary bone shortening surgery on her. From the first time we met him and his team to the last visit 6 months later, they treated us so well. They are all so very friendly and helpful and extremely patient with all my questions. Her arm is perfect now and 2021 looks to be a wonderful year Thanks to Dr. Luther and his wonderful team.

I broke my wrist a little over three months ago and was referred to Dr. Luther. I am a wimp and my option was surgery based on my type of break. A week after the break, I went to WakeMed hospital where I had a nerve block. On that note - two years ago I broke my other wrist and told Dr. Luther and the anesthesiologist that I felt pain during the surgery and said ouch. So they listened to me, didn't rush me into surgery after they gave me a block but made sure that I was completely numb. NO pain! After surgery I was sent home that day with pain meds and detailed instructions of how to best control my pain. Although that first day after surgery was a bit rough - I followed those instructions. After my first follow-up appointment, I was assigned a therapist specializing in hands, Deepali and she did an amazing job. My whole experience, despite me being a wimp and a little pain after the numbing went away was amazing! Thank you Dr. Luther - you were the best!

Dr Luther is very compassionate and really cares about his patients. He was thorough and very clear in how I should manage my injury. I would highly recommend him! The staff was personable and helpful. And I have never had consistently short wait times with any other practice. I think the longest I waited was 10 minutes!

Our son broke his wrist and Dr. Luther and the Wake Ortho team were great. He provided a confident diagnosis and was kind and reassuring with his treatment and follow up. Dr. Luther was very approachable and listened to questions and made sure we were satisfied with his responses.

My 5 year old, who has some sensory and anxiety struggles, cut his tendon in his finger. Dr. Luther and his staff were absolutely wonderful! Not only did Dr. Luther do an amazing job on the surgery to repair the tendon, but his staff and therapist were so on top of making sure he gained full motion back in his finger. So thankful!!!

I had my Scaphoid surgery on Nov.6 2018. I can’t say enough about the treatment I received from Dr Luthers team. Had follow up visit today Mar.4 2019. Bone looks great and I totally back to normal life.
