Dr. Gayle Bryna Harris, MD

I had successful surgery with Dr Harris. I wasn’t impressed with her demeanor or bedside manner but there a only a few practitioners who did the procedure I required. As I stated it was a success. When I reached out afterward to discuss a subsequent problem and to thank her for helping me, I was dismissed by her office staff who was most likely being directed by her. She would not speak to me directly or extend a professional courtesy ( I am a nurse) by calling me back. In hindsight my intuition was correct. She is cold and egocentric. Not the experience I would have hoped for. Did I mention we are practicing social distancing in a COVID crisis. Is she really that busy to speak to a patient? Guess she thinks so...

Dr. Harris really helped me out Really was able to get my symptoms under control

Very cold and quick. For someone who is supposed to deliver babies I would expect more human behavior. Not even a smile or a question about how you are feeling. A quick 10 minute appointment where you are given no chance to confide any issues to her because she is so eagerly trying to leave the room. You are a doctor, treat your patients with respect or even as if they matter....especially the pregnant ones. If not....quit!

I went to Dr. Harris with a long time issue. I found her to be very knowledgeable and helpful .I liked her style which is understanding and upfront..She was able to deal with my needs very well.

Doctor Harris is cold and uncomforting. I was sent to her by my normal OBGYN to help diagnose whatever I had (and still have) going in with me since she’s a vaginosis specialist. I left her office crying every time I saw her (5 times). She never explains, debriefs or digs deeper than necessary. She throws medication after medication at patients, and when I would bring up possible side effects, she brushed them aside. After taking a biopsy, she called me two weeks later to tell me she “wasn’t sure” and couldn’t even give me advice on what to do next. Doctor Harris makes me feel like I am the only person in the world with whatever I have.

dr. harris was only ob/gyn to diagnose and elinate a long standing problem i am very grateful

Visiting 3 doctors, she is the only one who could diagnose and treat my problem.

Dr. Harris is a horrible doctor and so is her practice as a whole. Office manager shows as much sympathy as dr.harris which is a big 0. Dr. Harris is very rough and doesn't give you a warm welcome. I saw 2 other ppl in that office and they were the same. They just want to come in, get the job done and leave. My first visit there I left crying. I know it's not just me when I've read other reviews of women who had the same experience there. I definitely will not recommend anyone to the practice. Most definitely won't be returning!!!

I met Dr Harris in 2000 when I was pregnant with twins.my most memorable event was ,she would always look on the ultrasound monitor to see both heart beats ,while the other doctors didn't .I was impressed with her expertise ,she delivered my sons via csection.she is my obgyn. She encouraged me into weight loss,very concerned about my overall health . She is the best.

I have had vulvodynia for over twenty years. It has been very difficult to treat. Medications and a number of measures to try to prevent irritation and pain have been used in the past. These measures were not effective. I was referred to Dr. Gayle Harris by my gynecologist. He said that she was doing "a lot of work in this area". Dr. Harris did a thorough history and physical examination. The treatment she prescribed, physical therapy and a topical medication, was the first thing that ever helped the pain. Before my first visit to Dr. Harris, my expectations for improvement were not high. I have responded well to her approach to the problem, and now have only a low level of discomfort. I hope to become pain free.

Dr. Harris is not very friendly. Didn't even introduce herself when walked in the room. All other MDs in practice have great bedside manner.

Dr. Harris has been my doctor for several years. She has helped me make several health decisions that have significantly improved my life. I strongly recommend Dr. Harris to other women looking for a good doctor.

Dr. Harris is an excellent diagnostician, is easy to talk to, and has a wonderful bedside manner. I had an infection that I self-treated with a strong corticosteroid ointment that had been prescribed for an infection earlier in the year. It got much worse because the infection was different. I went in to see Dr. Harris and she identified it immediately. This infection was extremely painful. Dr. Harris provided me with ways to ease the pain and was very easy to talk to regarding pain management. Early in my treatment of this infection, I developed a fever It was late afternoon on a Friday. I called to report the fever. Dr. Harris had me admitted directly to the hospital, bypassing the E.D. for I.V. treatment. One hour after I was admitted (about 7pm), she visited me at my bedside and did so every day throughout the entire weekend. She accurately diagnosed my condition and her decision to use IV medication proved successful. Regarding her office staff...I want to publicly thank Tamika for helping me obtain a medication that was a complicated insurance issue. To Dr Harris and her entire staff- THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Prior to seeing of Dr. Harris, I had seen 4 different gynecologists in the past 8 years. I was convinced I was having a problem that needed to be addressed by an expert. All 4 doctors I had gone to see before Dr. Harris told me they did not find anything wrong. One in particular insisted it was only my imagination. I still felt that I knew my body best and was persistent to find a doctor that would listen to me. My last gynecologist referred me to Dr. Harris. The very first time I came to her she was able to diagnose me and treat me for my on going problem. Beyond finding a great doctor that listened to me and was able to treat me, I was able to put to rest a problem I felt was going to continue and be life long. I recommend Dr. Harris for any girls/women. She is personable and very non judgmental. Additionally, the women receptionists are very accommodating and friendly. Thanks!

Dr. Harris is an exceptional doctor. She listens to her patients. I have struggled with chronic pain for almost two decades because no other gynocologist would take me seriously. She has worked with me for two months and I am now much better. Please see her if you feel you are not being taken seriously by other doctors. She will believe you, and try her best to help.

I have been a patient of Dr, Harris for about 5 yrs now, and I have always found her to be kind, compassionate, and open minded. What has especially impressed me is that she is very easy to talk to. She is willing to try different things to get us better, Having a vulvar disease can be multi-facited and requires patience on both the patient and Doctors part. I also think Dr, Harris will not give up easily. She is one of the best vulvar docs around, and would recommend her to anyone who were having difficult female issues.

My appointment with Dr. Harris was phenomenal. When I arrived at the office, the front desk staff was courteus and friendly. They assisted me with finding a follow up appointment at a time and location that best fit my schedule. When I got into the room Dr. Harris spent a lot of time going over exactly what my problem was and how to resolve it. She was very knowledgable, and at the same time was able to explain all the medical terminology so that I could understand what was going on. Overall I would say my appointment at CT Women and with Dr. Harris went very well and I highly recommend every women to this practice.

Dr. Harris is kind of ditzy. I hear a lot of "I'm not sure" and "I don't know" and "...that could be, but I don't think so". She's currently seeing me for a problem she's throwing antibiotics at, as a long term solution, with seemingly no concern that it will eventually become resisted and useless through overuse. Every time I ask her well-researched questions, she acts as though she's offended I'm questioning her, rather than merely trying to participate in my own health care, get my concerns allayed, and find out /her/ opinion on what I've heard. I feel very much like she just wants me to follow her choices silently and without any input from me. I'm honestly thinking I want to find another physician to help me with my issue, but unfortunately it seems Dr. Harris is one of the only specialists for recurring infections in the area. I also don't know what's up with the receptionist, but she's got mega attitude and seems like she's only half-interested in her job.
