Dr. Gila Aaron, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Aaron for several years, first as my Gyno and then as my OB for the birth of my daughter. She has excellent bedside manner, provides the full picture and helpful guidance throughout pregnancy, and delivered my healthy baby in an emergency C-section situation with calmness and the highest level of medical professionalism. Her office is very well run and a solo private practice without a team of other doctors that could end up delivering your baby, which to me was a huge plus. I’ve recommended Dr. Aaron to several friends who have also had all positive experiences!

I started seeing Dr Aaron when I became pregnant with my first child. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an OB! She is incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to any and all concerns. No matter the question, I never felt embarrassed or like I was being judged. Her staff are super friendly and make it easy to book appointments. Plus, they manage their calendar well, you never have to wait long!

Dr. Aaron cared for me during both of my pregnancies. I'm grateful that she helped me have two healthy and beautiful babies and took my questions and concerns seriously. I was never rushed during an appointment. I would recommend her to a friend looking for a OBGYN.

Dr Aaron and her office staff are accessible, patient, thorough, efficient, and kind. My daughter and I have been seeing Dr Aaron for years. She is conservative in her approach to ensure that we stay healthy. She takes working people’s insurance, has appointments, gives us her full attention, does not book, and stays ahead of reproductive organ research. She was recommended by two colleagues from different spaces so I knew she would be great.

I want to share my experience with the practice, as well as express my sincere gratitude and deepest appreciation to Dr Aaron. I started working with Dr Aaron when I was on 18th week of my pregnancy. Dr Aaron made sure I was up to date with all required tests/labs, provided answers to all of my questions (then and throughout the journey), educated me on my delivery options/test results, etc. I did choose to deliver via c-section and Dr Aaron did a wonderful job in OR (Mount Sinai West) by delivering our son with no complications, and left me with a very small scar. If you are looking for a doctor with outstanding professional ethics, good morals, experience, kindness and empathy, look no further. Thank you Dr Aaron from The Moore family, we will come back once we are ready for baby #2!

Dr. Aaron’s office has a short wait time and it is easy to book appointments by calling the office or using ZocDoc. I have not had to wait weeks for an appointment, typically she has good availability. Dr Aaron is a great listener and she is open to women’s decisions/autonomy regarding their bodies, whether you want different types of birth control, you do not want children/want to explore sterilization, or you do want children. This is strangely not a norm on this setting. I would agree with other comments that bedside manner is not her strong suit, as I have been intimidated to ask questions or her response was not thorough to me. However, she is very available for questions you just have to ask them and not worry if the question seems stupid.

I stumbled into Dr. Aaron’s office when I found out I was pregnant last year. Pandemic pregnancy wasn’t easy, but she could always eliminate my concerns. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I had to manage gestational diabetes, she listened to me and supported me with my decision making. My daughter was born happy and healthy, I had a very positive experience with Dr. Aaron.

I found what other 1-star reviewers said very true. Dr. Aaron's bedside manner is very belittling, and she and her staff would rush you through your whole appointment. I saw Dr. Aaron twice only because of the schedule. To do an ultrasound, I was told to pay off the full amount at her office, and a few months later her office called me and emailed me accusing me that I owed them money for the ultrasound. What kind of bullsh*t is this. Never going back.

My review is not for Dr. Aaron, but her staff. My visit with Dr. Aaron was very pleasant. I saw Dr. Aaron during the sixth week of my pregnancy and scheduled a follow-up appointment for the following month. After my initial appointment, I miscarried and was treated by another doctor. Like any women experiencing a miscarriage, I was completely devastated, and any reminder of the pregnancy was extremely upsetting. In advance of the 10-week appointment that was no longer needed, I emailed Dr. Aaron to explain what had happened and that I wanted to cancel my appointment. I sent an email because it was difficult to talk about out loud, and I knew that a phone call or other reminder would induce tears. I did not receive a response and sent a follow-up email a week later to ask if my message had been received. I did not receive a response to that message either. After sending two emails, I was stunned to receive a phone call confirming the appointment. The person I was talking to clearly had no idea that I had miscarried and attempted to cancel, and I had to explain all this again. It seems like a small thing, but in my grief, it was an incredibly painful experience. I was so deeply upset that I called the office back, to inquire about whether my emails had been received and to ensure that there would be no more reminders or inquiries about pregnancy appointments I will no longer need. I was told that yes, they had received the message and cancelled the appointment, but that my name still remained on the list for reminder calls. I asked why they had left my name on a reminder list for an appointment that had been cancelled, especially given such a heartbreaking reason, and didn't get a clear answer. I emphasized that this simple mistake had caused extraordinary pain, and asked them to please make sure it did not happen to another woman. I understand that mistakes happen, but this was an easily preventable mistake with painful consequences. If there is any provider who should treat women with care and compassion after a miscarriage, it is an OB-GYN and her team. I hope this review is seen by Dr. Aaron's team and causes some simple changes to process to prevent pain to other (former) patients.

My husband and I found Dr. Aaron under stressful circumstances, as we had a concern about our positive pregnancy test. We called several OBGYN's on the Upper West Side and had no luck getting an appointment. However, when we called Dr. Aaron's office, Dr. Aaron herself answered the phone and immediately made us feel better and scheduled an appointment after hours the next day. Fast forward to today and we have a wonderful, healthy 3 month old baby boy delivered by Dr. Aaron herself! From the moment we met Dr. Aaron, we were highly impressed by her professionalism, knowledge and efficiency. Most important to us, she has such a calm and reassuring demeanor. Throughout the pregnancy, Dr. Aaron had a special way of easing all of my worries and concerns! We had a long and difficult labor process, and Dr. Aaron was incredibly skillful and decisive and we were at peace with every decision she helped us make. We highly recommend Dr. Aaron and we are looking forward to going through the experience again with her!

Sadly, I am just reading the reviews for Dr Aaron now. I wish I had done so before making an appointment with her because it was the worst experience I have ever had with a medical professional in my life. Her manner is brisk, unprofessional, rude, demeaning and caustic. She does not offer advice or properly answer questions. If you are in pain (as I was during the appointment) she blames you for this (even though it was completely outside of my control). She made me feel so uncomfortable and also incredibly judged. I was so upset by the way she treated me and I would not wish this upon anyone. I know she will be able to fit you in immediately for an appointment (a testament to her quiet clinic, because why would you ever want a repeat experience) - but please for the sake of your sanity and health and well-being of your body, DO NOT SEE HER. It simply is not worth it by any means.

The worst possible doctor I can imagine. Horrible bedside manner! Clearly does not care about the patient, completely careless, walks into the room almost always confusing you with a different patient, earning money is clearly a priority over providing care, wait time has never been less than 45 minutes. I would highly recommend staying away from this doctor!

Thanks to Dr. Aaron, I am a happy mother of two beautiful children. Dr. Aaron performed emergency C-Section when I had my first child, she was assuring and professional throughout the process, and everything turned out alright. With my second child, because of pre-natal health condition, Dr. Aaron kept a close watch and was understanding and reassuring. My second child was a smooth delivery. I am very fortunate to have Dr. Aaron as my doctor. Highly recommend.

I switched to Dr Aaron at 37 weeks pregnant. This is quite unusual for a dr to take a new patient but Dr Aaron checked my former records and despite the fact that my other ob gyn would only perform a c-section, Dr Aaron told me I could try for a vbac. Even though she wasn't on call the night I delivered, her co-worker guided me through the vaginal delivery perfectly and my wish for a vbac was made possible. Dr. Aaron was and is very open, caring and professional.

Let me start by saying Dr. Aaron is brilliant. I was pregnant with my 3rd child at the age of 41. I had high blood pressure and was at risk for complications. Dr. Aaron provided excellent care and even ordered some tests others thought were overly cautious. Thank God she did. She saved my baby's life! Her skill is unparalleled and I am deeply grateful. I knew she was an excellent GYN for years having taken care of me but it wasn't until she became my OB that I realized just how excellent she really is at her job.

Dr. Aaron a very caring doctor.. i am considered a high risk preg. But i did not go to high risk doctor because she express her concern from the first moment i saw her and take care of every thing and consult another doctor for me. She collaborate with my other doctor professionally. She always leave a message about my lab result . My only neg. Comment about her that sometime i skill in dealing with pt. And the way she approach you made me uncomfortable. The reason why i am with her because i know she cares alot and i expect an expert delivery. Wating time is long sometime.

I went into labor and Dr. Aaron was the physician on duty. I had never seen her before and she immediately made me feel comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one she provided. After a 20+ hour labor I ended up having a C-Section but I was at least given the chance to labor and was encouraged by the entire team. I would recommend this competent and caring physician to anyone.

Dr. Aaron has been an incredible doctor for me. She has seen me through 2 pregnancies and both went completely smooth. She is a calm doctor, extremely knowledgeable, interested in my medical history, attentive, polite and to the point with her delivery of information. I have been with her for seven years and I always get insurance she accepts.

Dr. Aaron saw me last minute, which I really appreciated. She is kind and knowledgable. Wait times are very variable however.

I can't figure out why she'd get a negative review. Ok, maybe she doesn't spend an hour with you, but hey, I don't want to be there that long, so what's the issue!?! She's quick, accurate & thorough.... What else do you want? She may not be syrupy sweet, but um, she's REAL and a nice Dr.! I moved out of the city & still travel back in to see Dr. Aaron. I think she's great!
